The biggest thing for me was their communication, they said they will be there at a certain time they were there a few minutes early. They did not dilly dally one bit, there crew knocked out a 39 panel install, ran all the electrical in the attic, and setup storage batteries in the garage on what the news stated was the hottest day of the year at 118 degrees outside not to mention the temp in the attic. The attention to detail on their work was next level, I have never seen a company be this thorough. When the install was complete they double checked everything after working hours on hours, they went through everything checking the panels on the roof, the electrical panel, the batteries in the garage, cleaned up their mess and left it cleaner than they found it. The icing on the cake was the owner himself stopped by several times to check in to see how everything was going, and personally introduced himself to me and let me know the rest of the process. If I had to recommend a company it would be River Sun Solutions hands down. When your paying a lot of money for a service and product these are they people that will make sure its done clean, and correct the first time. Thank you all again.

George showed up at 1:30pm & switched out the old inverter for the new one. Everything is working great like it used to! Ivan, Scott & Jayson have been in constant contact with me about the progress of getting Tesla to ok the work. So grateful for their dedication! I definitely recommend Option One Solar! Update. To be clear I have nothing negative to say about Option One Solar, at the time I was disappointed with the outcome that seemed that I was out of luck. Scott & Ivan have been working on resolving this issue that is on Tesla's end & have been keeping me in the loop. They both have been communicating with me on the progress of my work order. I really appreciate their dedication to getting things done & finding a resolution to this issue. I will update again after this is done.

Natasha was professional and very clear with communication from the start. She set proper expectations on communication with Tesla would take a week or two. The day she received the go ahead from Tesla she called and scheduled the install asap 4 days out. Later the same day they had a cancellation and were able to get everything scheduled the next day. Anthony and Jeremiah arrived at the beginning of the arrival window! They were professional, great with communication, and ready to work. I had several questions and they were prepared for all of them and super helpful. The battery removal and install took less than an hour. Naturally Tesla's update took twice as long. LOL. Still total time was under 3 hours. I have managed 100s of installers and worked in Solar, this was a fantastic expierence! Because the Tesla 3 has more storage than the 2 I asked about adding some of my Breakers to the back-up and they had options for us to do that. Obviously we Highly Recommend This Team!

As you may well expect, I was less than happy with the situation.  I first brought my concerns to the attention of Denise Holdread.  I would like to praise how she handled my concerns as well as the two field technicians, Scott and Ralph. All three worked diligently to diagnose and resolve the problems which turned out to be a simple fix.   I sincerely praise the company's owner Greg Esmay and his staff. My solar system has met all my expectation in its performance and all my contact with his staff has been exceptional. A warranty means nothing when the company fails to provide service…read more We made a substantial financial investment in a solar system that was sold with a warranty. Now that the system is not working properly, SolarMax says its service appointments are booked months out. When we explained that we could not continue waiting while paying high Edison bills, they suggested hiring an electrician at our own expense. Customers should not have to choose between waiting months for service and paying out of pocket to repair a system that is still under warranty. SolarMax should stand behind its product and provide timely service. Their service department has been extremely frustrating. We have repeatedly been promised return calls that never came, and some of the service representatives we have dealt with have been rude and dismissive. Meanwhile, our solar system remains down, and we continue paying for electricity every month. It also appears that service may be different depending on whether you purchase or lease your system. When a leased system stops producing, the solar company loses money and has a financial reason to repair it quickly. Once you purchase your system and the company has already been paid, it feels as though you are "put out to pasture" when service is needed. Also: READ THE FINE LINES: Before signing a contract, carefully read every detail and make sure every promise or guarantee is included in the signed agreement. Do not rely solely on assurances made through emails or conversations. Our experience has shown us that what is promised before the sale may not be honored afterward. We love having solar and are glad we installed it. We simply wish we had chosen a company that stood behind its product, honored its warranty, and responded quickly when its customers needed service. We lost our solar in the hottest months of 2026 and still don't see it being fixed any time soon.

However, I can't recommend based on the overall experience. The workmanship was average, and more concerning, the final bill came in roughly 40% higher than originally quoted on what was a straightforward job with only a minor modification. There was also confusion around the original quote. I had specifically requested a GFCI outlet, but when he arrived, he indicated the quote only covered a GFCI and not the outlet itself, attributing the discrepancy to how it was entered through Yelp. Regardless of the source, that added to the overall lack of clarity on pricing. For context, the initial quote was already higher than other licensed electricians I had considered. In short: the job got done, but the combination of pricing inconsistency, unclear scope, and average workmanship makes it hard to recommend.
