I didn't take any pictures, but let me save you the trouble--this was easily the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The salsa was literally just blended tomatoes. No cilantro, no onions, no jalapeños--just plain, bland tomato puree. The queso was okay, nothing special. For my entrée, I ordered the ribeye fajitas, though it would've been more accurate to call it a plate of onions and peppers with a little bit of beef thrown in. Overall, it was a huge disappointment. I stopped by this Mexican place during a recent road trip. I had found it on Yelp and was excited to check out a local small town Mexican place. As a vegetarian, Mexican places have always tended to veggie friendly and Guacamole Grill's menu didn't disappoint. There are so many options on a huge menu. I would say the beans, sauces, etc. all seemed to be a bit on the lower side of the banging taste spectrum. I wish there had been more of a punch. The wait staff was super nice and really that's the reason for the stars I have selected. There was a whole crew of waiters that were trying their best. Nice guys. The restaurant is a lot bigger inside than it appears. It's right next to a small movie theater, so the location must be nice for locals doing dinner and a movie night. read more

While on an 11-state road trip, I stopped for the night in Princeton, IN. When I checked into my hotel, I asked the clerk about a restaurant I had seen on Yelp with excellent reviews. Unfortunately, THAT restaurant was one of several that are closed on Mondays. She then recommended a few places, including Guacamole Grill. I drove right past it at first. It's in a strip mall next to the local movie theater. It was not busy and I was seated right away in a booth. The complimentary chips and salsa were good, but they only had a very limited selection of beer. I was dying to try the "World's Best Guacamole," as touted on their signage and menu. It was pretty darn good! I assume it's not the "world's best," but it hit the spot and was full of fresh ingredients and perfectly chilled. The shredded beef chimichanga was fire! It was packed full of spiced shredded beef and topped with a queso blanco. Very good! Nice beans and rice, plus guacamole salad to make it a meal. The service was decent. My server got distracted flirting with another customer for entirely too long, but eventually returned to give me the bill. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. How could you mess this up? It was made with queso which went to the bottom of the tortilla and left the bland chicken on the top of the taco without cheese (or any flavor). They didn't even cut it into slices or bring any guacamole or pico or sour cream. Then the regular coke was unsweetened. Mentioned it to the server and they tried to fix it but it still didn't taste right. They didn't bring napkins or salt or any hot sauce was available at the table. Passing through around lunch and Mexican sounded good. This restaurant looks passable from the outside, but really good food! Shrimp were big and meaty (sometimes hard to find in the Midwest), all meals were so tasty! Chips were served warm and salsa in a bottle with small bowls for each of us. House guac is really good! Stopped in here while traveling on business. I was really in the mood for some awesome guacamole since that appeared to be their specialty. When we ordered the high-end portion of guacamole we received and large bowl of diced avocado with onion, tomato and jalapeño. It didn't taste bad and it was freshly made, but what you see is what you get. It literally tasted like a bowl of diced ingredients and no real seasoning, no citrus or really anything else. Meh, I guess this place is alright- certainly not "Worlds Best Mexican Grill" as their sign boasts. But I mean, how many of those kinda signs are ever truly accurate? Upon sitting I was quickly given a basket of warm chips and a mini carafe of salsa. The chips were good, fresh and crisp with the right amount of salt. The salsa on the other hand, not so good. It was very bland and lacked any spice whatsoever. I had to add some habanero hot sauce to make it enjoyable. I ordered a margarita and a water to start- after about 5 minutes I was told it was going to be a wait on my drink (more of a wait, I thought?). "Can I get my water then?" A few minutes later, my marg arrived at which point I asked again for my water. Margarita was ok- could barely taste that there was alcohol in it. I ordered a combo platter- I did a Relleno, shredded beef enchilada and a chicken taco. The Relleno was the most memorable- it was stuffed with ground beef (even though I was told it was cheese). Taco was boring and flavorless. Enchilada was on par. Refried beans were actually pretty good. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays. I doubt I'd return. read more

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Princeton. I eat here quite regularly, although I've only had Chicken and Steak on the beach, and the tamales. Everything has been exceptional.
