I have driven past this place countless times and was always curious if the food was good because it smelled delicious while waiting at the red light sometimes. Let me tell you, the food is a delicious as it smells. I love little hole in the wall places that have great food, and this one of them. It's a very unassuming place that doesn't stand out but the owner is so friendly and just wants you to enjoy his food, and you will. I have had quite a few things on the menu, but the carne asada entree is great. The owner even had us try the beef and potatoe empanadas and now we order them when we get there. This place has become my little comfort food spot down the street. read more

It's Taco Tuesday and decided to check this place out. Omg loved loved The service was excellent, we dine in and they serve nacho with mango salsa/with guac. for free I ordered chicken quesadillas- yumm so flavorful. Everyone else ordered burritos and said it was sooooo good and would definitely go back. At the end of my meal , the manager gave me a complimentary cholado awesome!!! I have eaten here three times in one week that's how good the food is. they give you large portions & are very friendly. I turned my sister onto this place and she loves it as well. It's more like an upscale Taco Bell, but still fast food. in my opinion, this place is better than the other fast food/Mexican places. Let me start off by saying that the customer service here is phenomenal. Never have I been so attended to and felt appreciated at a restaurant/store as I was whenever I go here. 10/10 would recommend! The food is always the best! Super fresh, delicious, tasty, and mouthwatering just thinking back to all of the times I've had the pleasure of eating here. The fajita bowl, guac & mango with chips, chicken flautas, enchiladas, beef, chicken, cheese & hawaiian empanadas, and buñuelos are my go to - let's just say I'm willing to go broke eating all of the items on this menu because it's just that good. The other day I was wondering on what I should get for dinner, and I decided to stop by here and try it. The service was extremely good, nice staff. The food was good but there was one thing I was NOT happy about. When the staff was preparing my food, they didn't have gloves on. I watched him use his phone, THEN touch my food with them!! Honestly came in not expecting much but walked into a wonderland. Came here with a girlfriend and everyone was so nice. The food was so tasty, I got the shrimp tacos, chicken empanada, loaded fries and chips and guac. The chips had this amazing mango sauce on it and was super flavorful. The food also came out super fast and always checked up on our needs. The environment also was very homey. You don't usually get that great hospitality anymore. After spending the day working on my yard to get it to look "on fleek" as the kids like to say these days, we worked up a bit of an appetite. In the mood for Mexican I find this place on Yelp and I remember that I've been wanting to try it ever since it recently opened. The website states delivery, which just seals the deal because I am a victim of circumstance! We call a little before 3pm and they inform us they don't start deliveries until then. Its cool we ask them to take our order and when the delivery guy starts just send it out then - no biggie. We get the order around 3:30pm and the driver was apologetic for the delay. We tell him its all good we know he just started at 3pm, but we appreciate the communication! Anyway let's get to the food which he just handed me - all carefully packed for delivery. He have the House Avocado - this is the bomb! This is a large order with chunks of avocado, pico de gallo, and shrimp that fill two halves of avocado shells - it also came with pink dressing, which didn't have any particular strong flavor. We also had their Guacamole which is very good - creamy and fresh. If you ever ordered Guac and Chips from Chipotle you would know that GMG gives you double the amount of Guac for your order - fantastic. We also ordered the shrimp and fish tacos. They were very large and all the ingredients were fresh, but they were lacking in flavor. The fish was a little mushy and shrimps didn't really stand out. The sweet plantains were plentiful for the order, and I liked them - they would be even better if they were fried more for even more caramelization on the outside. I noticed that the menu photo on Yelp says free salsa and chips with each order, but we didn't get any salsa. Oh well, perhaps an oversight? The food is fresh and delicious, one of the best Empanadas I ever tasted. The owner Gill greats you when you walk in like a longtime friend and made me Empanadas from scratch not frozen like most places. He grilled the stuffing first on the grill, weather it was Beef with potatoes, chicken with potatoes, Shrimp with onions and peppers, or just cheese, then flattens out the dough (corn or flour) and folds and stuffs them in front of you, then into the fryer until golden brown. So amazingly delicious and fresh crunch. Served with fresh made nachos with fresh made guacamole and mango salsa. The restaurant is a small cozy, clean and beautifully decorated in Bright Mexican murals and colors on the walls. Small but Great to sit and eat or order his great food that he prepares himself fresh to order. I'm so glad I stopped in to try this place. Fantastic local shopkeeper who prepares delicious authentic homemade Mexican meals and puts his artistic twist on it to make it even better! However, the extra salsas and sour creams I asked for was not included. Any delivery over $20 also comes with free small bag of chips. Nachos were our favorite and plenty to share. Tacos were good. Tasty Mexican food at an affordable price, it's a mainly takeout type of restaurant but there is some seating perfect for a date or a small group. They have menus at the counter and currently have spring specials which include tortas, chicken enchiladas, and more! There is a dessert menu as well, and they have a fridge with multiple types of drinks. After repeatedly eating the green habanero sauce, I had to buy myself a Core lol. I ordered a bowl with brown rice, lettuce, guacamole, corn, black beans, salsa, and pico de gallo. It was really delicious but I wish the lettuce wasn't just iceberg lettuce, but romaine or anything else. I shared an order of chicken empanadas with a friend which were good, and we both enjoyed it. They weren't the best ever, but it was a good app. My bowl also came with chips and salsa, and the salsa was quite good - especially the green mild one. The chips were okay, seemed like Tostitos brand. My friend ordered a chorizo taco that she really liked, but thought was missing something that she couldn't quite put her finger on. Though she did love how the chorizo was cooked, and I thought it was delicious as well. Overall, it was a great experience for the price and I loved the casual takeout style. I've been to Gaucomole over the summer with friends, and I enjoyed it so much that I came back this week! I stopped in for a quick take out : burrito bowl with onions (unfortunately raw), tomatoes, black beans, sour cream, jalapeño, and cheese. I would've gotten more veggies but everything had cilantro in it, which I have a bad reaction to. I opted for a vegetarian dish this time because I found the meat last time to be either salty or bland (I had tried my dish and my friend's as well). The service was fast, parking was easy, and the staff was friendly. I'll prob be back but hopefully they'll make a few menu changes: sautéed onions and peppers, veggie options that don't include cilantro, and perhaps more salsas / cream to choose from. Killing chipotle. Menu is crazy with all kinda options. The fish anything is bomb! Tacos are always great and the burritos big and tasty. My favorite thing is the steak nachos. Maaaan listen, get them loaded with guacamole, sour cream, salsa extra cheese and all the works. Eat them by the window so passersby can hate on how blissful your life is as they drive to Wendy's. In the warmer months they have a fruit drink that's homemade and believe you me, it's addicting. Get one. They'll be located in the upper left corner of the first fridge. They'll be red. They'll be good! Not many store owners have been able to make it work there since super heroes closed down. These guys can and should be the ones. Go spend your money and eat the food. PS... If you want your food the hottest and freshest order fish or shrimp, they grill it right on the spot. read more

Tried it for the first time tonight and as much as I wanted to like it I was disappointed. Order was missing empanadas. Food was bland and my trio entree was supposed to have jumbo shrimp steak and chicken. Shrimp was mini large shrimp cut in half chicken was two little pieces and three little pieces of steak. A little peppers and onions and no flavor made for a disappointing meal. I couldn't say any part of the meal was memorable. After they forgot part of the order and finally showed up with it 20 minutes later it still was disappointing. 47 dollars later for two entrees and two appetizers was not worth it. Bland cold, and not good at all. Save your money and get fake Mexican elsewhere for a lot less money and more flavor. read more

Finally tried this place. They seem to have a nice selection of food, including empanadas. I tried beef and potato empanadas and they were both good. I saw they had a fish burrito (cod) and since I never had a fish burrito, I brought that home too... it was very good... fish tasted fresh and nothing tasted salty. Another thing I like is that they offer home-made juice drinks like guanabana and passionfruit. I got the fruit punch. It had fresh cut up melons and other fruits in it and not too sweet. WASTED MONEY Where to start!! Ugggh I guess would define the visit. If I could cancel my credit card comfortably just to dispute this charge I would!!! Mexican food is readily available at every square mile of most cities. We googled this place under " where the locals eat. We drove about 35 minutes. When we arrived there was a very nice gentleman eager to take our order, we reviewed the menu and decided on: 2 steak burritos and a plain cheese quesadilla Now, here's the list of items in the burrito from the menu: 13" soft warm tortilla Spanish rice Black or pinto beans Blended cheese Sour cream Lettuce While waiting for the food, one of the owners asked if we would mind getting our pictures taken while eating to be posted on the Facebook page, he said "drinks are on me." Heck yah I thought!!! Nope. $2.00 for a bottle of coke that was barely cold Soooooooooooo sad!!! Burrito came with a pound of rice Cold to the touch My wife counted seven 1/4" square pieces of steak NO LETTUCE NO SOUR CREAM COLD CHEESE ANd maybe a tablespoon of beans Annnnndddddd whole kernel corn? What the heck. Maybe they thought that was lettuce Chips were stale as could be. Salsa was excellent, that and the pleasant service were the only reason we give a star at all. If you're in the Long Beach area and reaaallllllyyyyy want Mexican... go to Taco Bell. At least they're a corporation and you know what you're getting. So in closing. The key word for this place is its FRESHNESS!!! This was my first time coming here and will definitely not be my last! Over all it was very clean and the workers are friendly and helpful. When I first walked in the menu is on 2 flat screens and I had a problem seeing it clearly so I was offered a paper menu right away. I ordered the chicken fajitas and it's obvious that the chicken was grilled just as I ordered it. The to-go container was piping hot I could barley carry it. When I took my first bite I was not disappointed; the chicken was juicy and the veggies were flavorful. The beans were a little dry but I soaked them up in the fajita sauce and it seemed to help a lot. The tortillas are clearly not homemade but they are a lot better then what some of these other places are serving around here. Open during Covid, so long lines. Unfortunately they are so unorganized. To me it was simple take an order work on it, in order it was placed, one at a time. They were jumping around, missing people's orders, and not working on them till an hour later when you show up... nothing was ready. If the food was good I could now talk about that, but it was terrible. Tostones were dry and hard about 1/4" smashed terrible. Piggy nachos thrown together by the phone order girl, she didnt know how to make them and Empanadas were ok, but personal opinion did like how the made them, too much potato in all of them. read more
