I advise anyone who is black not to come here never and Evelyn (if that's her Mexican name, which I know better) was my waitress and I told her my rice was cold. She had the nerve to tell me, "We can warm it up for you. The kitchen is pretty busy." TF!! We've given this place so many chances to get their service right. Initially, the server was brusque and abrupt. As the meal progressed, she became somewhat warmer. All of the food was competently prepared, and consisted of the standard Tex-Mex fare. I've been here so many times and have had a 4/5 star experience every time but tonight just wasn't there day. My food was lukewarm but the plate was extremely hot, I ordered a chorizo dip to go and should've check it when they brought it but trusted them a little too much and took it home. Service was great, however as someone who enjoys authentic traditional Mexican food and has been to places all over the US. The chile Colorado was the worst I've had anywhere. NOT disabled friendly at all! We took my 94 year old mother in law out for lunch. She's in a wheelchair as she is an amputee. My husband pointed out that we'd need a table to accommodate a wheelchair and two male servers kept pointing to a table where she'd be stuck out in the aisle. He said that's not going to work and one got very loud and yelled "take your attitude somewhere else" 3 times. I told him we heard him the first two times and he continued. I am sorry to say that this is my update. I am being nostalgic and super gracious with the deuces. I have had a few Yelp friends bookmark this place and actually let me know that they had. They all had hopes of getting a 5 star visit as I described in my previous review. I wish I could stand behind my rating. This leads me to right now. It sucks! Unfortunately, I have to quote "Rose Royce" at this moment "You abandoned me, love don't live here anymore". "Just a vacancy, love don't live here anymore". Everything about this place sucks now. Service, food, drinks, and the overall upkeep has dwindled away into shitville. This isn't a one time I am mad review. I am sad to say this at least five times in succession that I have had a horrible visit. You name it, I've dealt with it here. It will be a while before I'm talked into returning. Rancho Grande and El Mezcal are just down the road. I haven't written a review for either of them. It's probably time to branch out. read more

I stopped here back in May and it was fantastic, and when we were in the area again we went again. This time, their phone didn't work, so we went in and orders vegi fajitas and chicken fajitas. Well, when we got back to the hotel we only had the chicken and we didn't get the vegi. Their phone doesn't work, so we are out the $12 and the meal and it is too late after a day of traveling to get dressed and go back. There were some good things about my lunch today. There were some things not so good, but there was nothing terrible. For cleanliness and appearances, I'll go all the way with 5 stars. Not necessarily a 5 star dining room, but it is nice enough. And it's well kept. My hot sauce bottle was even clean when I took the top off. Service was fine. The food temperatures were great. I absolutely love that the salsa was at room temperature. Why serve warmed chips with 35* salsa? Don't make no sense. Think about it. Tomatoes, cilantro, onions, everything can sit out on the counter. Salsa doesn't have to be refrigerated if it's made fresh. If it's cold, that means it's been stored in the refrigerator for a long time. The chips were a tad thin. I've had better. I was pulling a trailer today and parking was great. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. That's a good thing. The poblano pepper was below average. The ground beef had been through a food processor and it was watered down. There wasn't much cheese in it. The pepper itself was just a piece of a pepper and wasn't that great. Didn't look great either. The breading on it was soggy. Also, who puts potatoes in these? Surprisingly, the potatoes were the best part of it. The rice was average, but why serve that lettuce crap with a poblano? Maybe with a chimichanga or a quesadilla, but not a poblano. Not good at all really, but I've had worse. Still better than Hardee's or Wendy's but well below average for Tex Mex. I'd be at 2 stars if it weren't so nice and clean, and if the food temperatures weren't so perfect. read more

Surprised by mediocre reviews. Traveling through on our way to Santa Fe, it was recommended by the hotel receptionist across the street. Service was excellent. Skinny margaritas were perfect - not too sweet. Try the molcajete for two. It was the best dish we have had in a Mexican restaurant in forever. Combination of beef, chicken, cheese, peppers (some spicy some less so) and a bit is sausage served in a mortar (as in mortar and pestle) with excellent rice, quesadilla and retried beans. read more

I seriously couldn't help myself! There were so many great menu items that I wanted BUT I just ordered one entree and one tiny single tamale and look at how much food came out! We absolutely love Guadalajara Grill. The food is super fresh and VERY tasty. Their drinks are very good as well. This place is definitely worth the drive and even more so if you're in the area. We live in Germantown and drive down here just to eat here. Granted it's not THAT far but still. We pass probably a half dozen Mexican restaurants along the way. GO!!! read more

We ordered two meals from bite squad the order on the app looked like it was taking longer than expected so we called the restaurant and they said that it had just left the restaurant and was on its way nearly 2 hours later we had to get in contact with bite squad support and it turned out that the lady over the phone completely lied and our food was not delivered it was sitting on a table getting cold and by the time they Were reprimanded by bite squad they just decided to deliver the order no redo to make sure it was fresh just cold soggy disgusting food The place may be real nice and accommodating inside but please I'm begging you do not order from them they do not understand how to do it a delivery service read more

Since when do you have to pay for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant? They never answer the phone for carry-out orders. The staff is rude and the place smells bad, like they mop with dirty dish water. Stopped going inside to eat because of the smell but they don't seem to like doing carry-out. They openly stared at me and my partner and made it painfully obvious that they were talking about us. I travel to Memphis/ Mississippi once a month for work. For lunch, I usually stop by Guadalajara Grill. I usually get the pick three combo and it comes with plenty of food. Coming from Colorado where Mexican food is almost everywhere, it was good to find some in Mississippi. Staff is always friendly and will definitely be back again. I would recommend the fried potato taquitos. Pretty tasty! Prices are fair as well. read more

This is our "go to" Mexican place in OB. The chips are thin and crisp. The salsa has just a little kick. The service is consistently quick and friendly. If I'm really hungry I'll go for the Chipotle shrimp or fajitas if not an a la carte quesadilla or 1/2 order of chicken nachos. Of course the margaritas are great, especially after a jumbo or two. Guadalajara Grill doesn't deserve the strip mall Judgement I gave it when I first saw it off the road. I'd been working at a camp for 12 weeks and was desperate for actual Mexican food and it was the closest option that may have suited nearby. I walked in and was immediately surprised by the authentic decor and pleasant Mexican vibe the place radiated. The staff was friendly and welcoming and our party of five was sat at a nice, mosaic tiled table in their calmingly lit dining room. The menu was large, almost overwhelmingly so, but you certainly can't fault them for lack of selection. Their free salsa and chips were very good and served to distract me and my party from actually figuring out an order. The atmosphere is not one to discourage people from talking an having fun, I must add. I ended up ordering chipotle shrimp and found it to be very good, albeit spicy. The terrier beans were a tad runny, bit aside from that I, nor my party had anything to complain about. The service was very good and we never wanted for drinks or waited for checks. We were shocked at how small the bill was and noted it for future goings out. The Guadalajara Grill should not be looked over for it's location. It's a delicious restaurant that stands out amongst a town packed full of Mexican options. read more

The staff was attentive and friendly. The chips were light, crispy, with very little salt. The salsa was served in a carafe and was sweet and fresh. I ordered the shrimp el diablo and loved the sauce. The shrimp were cooked to satisfaction. The rice was just okay. The decor was surprisingly cool for a strip mall Mexican place. There is a neat brick partition in the middle. I ordered an iced tea (unsweetened of course) which came in a large glass which was refilled after I drank half. They had Splenda. If I lived/worked in the area I'd probably be at this place about once per week. I was very happy with my experience. read more

Very friendly people, food good but not outstanding. It made me sad to see a lot of items with a Tex mex spin but promising to be authentic Mexican food. I'm Mexican, so here's the easiest way to know it's not Mexican food: Mexicans do not use cheddar cheese, it's always white. Food came out quick and was good as usual. Ordered the Chipotle Shrimp and it is GREAT! My wife ordered the chicken chimichanga and it was also very good and was homemade. The service is friendly as usual and everyone is eager to serve. The only drawback to this place is something that drives me crazy at restaurants. WOBBLY TABLES. 75% of the times we eat there we get a table that wobbles like crazy. And with a 4 year old and a 1 year old it is a nightmare trying to keep the table from moving. read more

Got into town late on a Sunday. Just a lot of fast food available.... and Guadalajara. I really wish the folks at my hotel (located just across the street) would've let me know about this place!! Just good, well made, Mexican food. Nice clean casual atmosphere and the place was quite busy for a late Sunday night. I (mistakenly) said "large" when ordering my must have Margarita... and it was.
