Food is ok. I bought a Groupon and they would not let me use the way it was described in the ad..

I ordered on Uber eats 8/17/2023 and received the wrong order. I called the restaurant and advised them of their error and the manager on duty told me that the video showed that they packed my order correctly. I gave him my cell number then sent him a pI tire of what I received and he told me they we cleaning the grill pre closing time and to contact Uber. Never order from a place with poor customer service when you give them an opportunity to make it right. Speaking of Uber, they did refund me on behalf of your F up! read more

Honestly no complaints here. Chips & salsa were solid. The fajitas quesadilla tasted great & I got the chicken. At a price of $10, it was super good. My bf got the steak fajitas & he really enjoyed it too. Service was cool & food came out quickly. read more

Hands-down the worst Mexican restaurant in the area. My burrito was just a tortilla with meat in it. No sour cream, guacamole, lettuce or anything else. The Pablano pepper I ordered was so greasy I couldn't eat it. My husband ordered the fiesta quesadilla and it was a tortilla with meat in it and just a little bit of cheese. It was a joke. It also wasn't helpful that the service was absolutely terrible. Waited forever for a bill. My waitress didn't speak English so we had a hard time even placing an order. read more

Sat outside, ordered deluxe nachos, two chimi and kids fingers. Typical flavors. The chimi chicken was a bit dry. Nachos were typical as well. Staff was so very slow. Maybe they were not expecting this many ppl. They seemed to be out of corona, and didn't have liquor license for margs. read more

We were sooo hungry!! I ordered through Uber Eats and it was great. The rice and beans weren't really hot and they need some work but the fresh Guacamole was AWESOME! I had the mixed parrilla, ordered two by mistake, I'm so happy that I did. It was delicious! Hubby had the shrimp burrito and a steak burrito. That was also delicious! We were on the road all day and this was just what we needed. I'm sure we'll be eating here again before we leave. Now I need a nap! read more

We have been here twice in the past few weeks. We have another nearby "usual" Mexican place but we were near Santa Rosa so we thought we would give it a shot. The handmade guacamole is very good - lots of lime in it which we love. Neither time we were there were we in any kind of a hurry but it did take a little while for the food to serve, I am assuming because nothing is mass produced in the kitchen and each item is made as it is ordered. Anyway take away on that is I wouldn't come here if I was in a hurry but if you've got time to relax and hang out and enjoy good guacamole this is your place! read more

Authentic. That's the word that immediately got my attention. The Memphis area is saturated with Tex-Mex and could use a couple more authentic restaurants. However when I got here, I discovered this was a variation of nearly every other average Tex-Mex Mexican American menu. I felt as if I had been lied to. That word got my attention because it means "We're different from all the other average places. This is our edge. This is what makes us better. This sets us apart." It isn't right to deceive customers like that unless you can prove that you are different. They were not. With that said, I like Tex-Mex and usually even prefer it. I even like some of the American taco joints in certain cases. Pancho's and Swanky's in particular. What I did find here at Santa Rosa was they were among the better Tex-Mex restaurants and if they only hadn't had that sign that said "authentic", I'd have awarded them 5 stars. This used to be Area 55. I had a feeling they were struggling. Mexican restaurants seem to do fairly well in this area, so I wish them success. They will have to stay on top of their game to keep up. Service was great. The super chimichangas were great. I liked the guac. The apple enchilada was good, and those apples were definitely fresh, but I kind of suspect it's supposed to contain a pie filling. They have several other desserts as well. The one thing they will have to do better on is that salsa. It definitely wasn't fresh and it was processed too mushy. Anytime salsa comes to your table at 35 degrees, you automatically know it isn't made fresh. Or at least not being served fresh. read more

This place has only been open for five days but it's going to be my new go to Mexican restaurant in the area. The salsa is fantastic with onions and cilantro. I ordered the chilaquiles with chicken. my husband ordered the Carne Asada, both were excellent. Our son ordered the grilled shrimp tacos and he said they were really good too. It's the best Mexican restaurant in the area. And they make homemade Horata! read more

This place is DELICIOUS! We wanted to try a new restaurant so we came here. Come quick before it takes off! I ordered the beef ranchero a la Diablo. I love spicy food and this didn't disappoint at all. It was so fresh! Beware: if you can't handle spicy don't order it. My husband ordered the burrito locos. He pretty much licked the plate clean. Side note: my rice was so good. Not over cooked like most places around here. Salsa was excellent! Chips were warm and crunchy Our waiter was very nice and checked on us multiple times and kept our drinks refilled ( I needed mine ). Unfortunately we didn't get his name though. I see other reviewers are raving about their fajitas. I was disappointed--rather than the usual char-grilled/browned steak that is typical of fajitas, the steak in mine last night was gray. Like they boiled the meat. Sort of odd for fajitas. The service was great with a friendly staff. And it seemed cheap--$33 for two dinners, an appetizer and two (so-so) margaritas. One other thing about the restaurant: it's too bright. Sort of like diner brightness in there. They could stand to take the dimmer control down a few notches. Maybe good for families, not so good for a date. read more

First time ordering from Santa Rosa, but probably the last time. I ordered chicken floutas and they were terrible. Very expensive at $9.99 for that dish, other restaurants typically charge $4.99-$6.99. The food was unacceptable to me. After eating one, I unwrapped the second and realized the "flouta" was what looked to be a chicken tender wrapped in a very well done tortilla. Food was great and the service was friendly. We are always trying new places, this place will be our favorite Mexican restaurant.

What a great place to have a late lunch/dinner. We had Carne Asada, Burrito Special (beef) and a chicken taco. The food was made exactly the way we like it. Very flavorful and served on hot dinner plates so the food stayed warm. We didn't have to wait long for it and we had free chips and salsa along with 99 cent beer and a soda. The owner Pepe came over to talk and said they just opened 4 days ago. We ate in the full bar area but they have a large dining area for families or groups. We will be back to try more of the items on the menu. Also thank you Alberto for your excellent service!! Very happy we stopped in today! read more

My wife found something that looked like dental floss in her dish. There were three of us at lunch and none of us could complete our meals they were so disgusting. At noon on Saturday besides one other table we were the only customers and I had to get up and go to the kitchen to ask for a drink refill. The restaurant has a full bar but cannot serve any alcohol because they didn't get their liquor license renewal. Very scary place. read more

We ordered alcoholic beverages. 30 minutes later we got the beverages. 30 minutes after that she took our food order. Waited nearly an hour to get food. No refills. My husband ordered a second beer that never showed. Finally, she brings our food out. COLD! All 5 plates cold with dried up cheese dip on the chicken. We sent the plates back. My husband specifically asked that it not be microwaved. She came back minutes later with hot plates that had COLD FOOD. Again. We were done. We offered to pay for the large cheese dip and the drinks but we didn't want the food. Took 20 minutes to bring us a check. Took forever to run our card (now watching to be sure our card wasn't scammed). Ordered Dominos while we waited since we are hungry. Just a ridiculous experience and we will not be back. read more

The food is de-li-cious!!! Recently our family enjoyed the great food at Santa Rosa's. My nephew says "they are the BEST" - so he wanted to celebrate his birthday there. He said he has not had a bad meal there - and he goes quite often. We, however, are nowhere near this place, so we cannot be regulars. I decided on the Carne Asada. He said it was one of their specialties - well, he was right. The meat was well-seasoned and full of flavor, especially when enjoyed with the grilled onions. Their salsa is made fresh, though served cold, but still quite tasty. The only disappointment was the noise - since the food is so good, lots of people were there, but the loudness was not pleasant. This restaurant is kid friendly. A friend of mine was having dinner one night. She was having to make a serious decision and I was trying to help her. . There was a large group at several tables next to us. The children started SCREAMING and I let the table know it was getting loud. Now do not get me wrong, I have 10 grandchildren and I love children, but these kids was clearly getting out of hand. The parents never offered to quieten the children. After getting a ugly look at one of the ladies, I got up and asked her if she had anything to say to me. Her husband got smart and went to management. 5 Star Review--We went back to the Santa Rosa location on Church Road this evening after a long time away. The married couple originally running the Restaurant went home to Mexico for awhile and the Quality of Food, Drinks & atmosphere changed and NOT for the good--now, under NEW Management since the first of the year, those important factors have returned! Very attentive Service, lots of choices on the NEW menu, smells great, shareable, very tasty, and clean! The Chile Rellano is what it used to be! Taco meat was flavorful, sauce on the Burrito was much like the original, fresh lettuce and tomato garnish, attractive plates with chips and salsa. Beans were good. We had Tea that was freshly brewed and a cup To Go. Will return! Try it, you will like it! Support our Locals! read more

I have been to this restaurant twice and the first time was some time ago and it was decent. We returned this week and couldn't have been more disappointed. The wait staff is spread way to thin and drinks stayed empty and we waited over an hour for our food. I finally went to the waitress and just asked for the check and then they finally brought the food. Waitress was nice and apologetic but this was a terrible experience. Food was just average. I think it has potential but needs some serious turn around. Also, very negative to this establishment is they charge 3.50% fee if you pay by credit card. read more

The Margarita didn't have any liquor in it. The shrimp in the chimichanga wasn't seasoned but with the rice and sides it was ok. When i asked what kind of liquor was in my Margarita i was shocked because i didnt taste any Tequila or Rum. They offered a shot to me but i declined because I would've been charged. So i paid, went outside, came back in to get my to-go box....they threw it away! idk if i will ever be back smh. Only upside was my waiter! My husband and I stopped by here one night around 8:45pm, later than normal for us, and they were already cleaning the restaurant. As we were seated, rather quickly, I worried that the service and food wouldn't be good because of the time, but this place was amazing! The large cheese dip is actually a good size and it's delicious! I don't know if anyone else has noticed lately, but every Mexican restaurant in Desoto County tastes pretty much the same and even offers the same menu, but this one is standing out on its own! Maybe the others are all owned by the same guy, I don't know, but back to my review. My husband got the taco salad, his go-to when we try a new Mexican place. He always says he'll know if it's worth coming back on how good they make taco salad. He's weird! However, I have the same mentality with fajitas, which is what I ordered and they were fantastic! A single order was enough for two! I got the steak and shrimp. It had a nice flavor with a kick to it! The veggies were cooked perfectly and seasoned! Good prices and friendly but somewhat elusive staff, I think there was only one server for lunch. Food was hit and miss my son loved his chicken cheese and rice but my fajitas were really over cooked/burnt. Cheese dip and salsa were good chips were cold. Kitchen was very slow compared to most local Mexican places. Will try again nothing authentic about it to me, and really wouldn't call it Tex-Mex either (have spent last three months and extra 30 lbs in Houston eating more Tex-Mex than should be allowed) read more
