No option to leave a message to have them call you back either. Kind of dissappointing as Salem late night options are pretty slim...I think tonight was the last night that I'm going to try to contact these people. I'm not sure if they're even still in business.? **update** I got a call back from the number listed and I asked to order food- the guy says 'no, not tonight' and basically hung up on me- funny, your listed hours say you're open 24/7. Abrupt and rude. Lost a good potential customer....3stars because I hadn't had any interaction with this place, now it's one star for terrible customer service....

A Cubano traditionally is pork loin cooked into submission, ham Swiss cheese mustard and pickle grilled on a plancha. I dont do pickles so I ordered mine without. What i got was a grilled cheese with pulled pork bacon and smothered in pickles and onions. This was not even close to a Cubano and should not have been billed as one! I would also like to point out that those were pickled cucumber slices not actual pickles. Since I was at a function and the line for the food truck was exceptionally long. I just brought the sandwich home. I will also say the Mac and cheese was not terrible although I would rethink the pasta that is being used. It was large a overcooked. So with all that said there was some good flavor. The wait was too long for a bad sandwich made wrong. I would not purposely look for this truck .

She…read morediscovered this gem of a food truck and told me about it, and I'm so glad that she did, because I would not have thought to look for great food options hidden in the Brooks trucking area. Every week or two, we will tell the other of something new that we have tried there, but both seem to always come back to our favorites. For her, it is the butter chicken, which I also love, and my favorite is the chicken tikka masala (asking for spicy). I also highly recommend their garlic naan, vegetable pakoras, vegetable samosas, and any of their wraps. I was less a fan of their curry (too many onions) and their shrimp dishes (the shrimp were smaller than I would have liked), but the things that I do love far outweigh those minor things to earn a 5 star review from me. Plus they have always been very kind and gracious.

Almost everything we tried was great. The paratha was humongous and packed with flavor, though I do wish they offered a few more individual filling options instead of just a mixed veg style. Both the chicken curry and the paneer bhurji were absolutely on point, and the gulab jamun was a perfect sweet finish. As for the misses, the chana in the chana masala was still a bit too firm to bite into and definitely needed more cooking time, and the chicken roll was just okay. That said, I'm totally willing to let those couple of things slide because the highlights were so good. I'd love to come back and work my way through more of their menu!

While La Carreta de Mi Tierra (#1) has been quietly blowing up the taco street scene in Salem, just…read moreacross the street lies Los Pinos, an older, more traditional taco truck where tastiness and authenticity go hand in hand. Some would say this is the best street taco experience in the city, which is hard to argue, especially when the tacos are this good. Their tacos are around $1.50-$2.00 each, which beat the competition in terms of pricing but I trust this price will catapult in a very short time. Their version of carnitas are stewed and fried to perfection and their lengua / al pastor is fantastic. When available, their fish tacos are worth every dime, though they are a $1 more. It's not all tacos, they also serve a decent variety of burritos, quesadillas, and tortas. They're very good about stuffing every morsel of food into the tortilla / bread, which is abundant in its own right. Do not forget to use as much of their condiments to really enhance the flavor. Thankfully, it's never too busy here and the staff is super friendly. The last time I checked they were still cash only and parking is extremely limited. They've done well to attract a lot of local clientele, many of whom visit the truck during the late hours into the evening. There is some seating with these makeshift tables, but I prefer to take my food to go. When it comes to Los Pinos and their wonderful variety of street inspired food, everyone wins. _________________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/la-carreta-de-mi-tierra-salem

The guy who took our order and put everything together was really nice and patiently listened to how we wanted the tacos and burritos - no beans, etc. First bite was close your eyes good. There is some kind of salsa poured over the tacos that made their deliciousness more delicious. Lots of cilantro and onion and almost like a gravy. Then there was the burrito. Oh man it was so good! We tore it apart in greed and burrito lust and panted in shame afterwards. But not so much shame that we didn't plot to return next week.

So even though its a food trailer, this one is set permanent in it's location. With outside seating, a canopy and a wood deck stepping up to the serving window. I ordered something I had never seen on the east coast, the mulita. They give you your choice of protein and you also get a side of salsa verde and red along with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. Now, as far as the mulita is concerned, it's two corn tortillas, cheese, I had chicken and had I seen in the options, I would have ordered chorizo. There was was some sort of red sauce that had very little impact on the flavor profile. The two salsa's really complimented the meal. Just the right amount of spice and kick on both. As far as the service goes, it was ok, nothing to really spend many words on. Not great, not bad. I guess for Mexican on the go... The only thing that was a negative, was the fact that they added a .75 cent fee for credit card. They use square credit card reader. So based on the total, their fee would have been .23 cents. If they don't want to absorb the cost of that service, they should build it in to the price. Overall, I would return to La Korita, next time with cash. Their food and establishment are more then you would expect of a food trailer.
