Went there recently with some family and friends and we really enjoyed the place. Had a few chilly ones on the water while waiting for our table. Lots to enjoy under the lush canopy and nice section of the intra-coastal. Food was good as well as the service. A bit on the expensive side, but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless .We all had a fish dish and we were not disappointed. Service has improved alot. One note: the happy hour menu available on the high top area is the way to go. Apps, drinks and sandwiches are all half price from 3-7 and is a real value! read more

The atmosphere here is amazing. One of the most beautiful tropical settings in Palm Beach County. The food here unfortunately is very disappointing. Not much of a selection and mediocre at best. Also very overpriced. A salad with grilled fish on it is $27 and it wasn't even good. I keep coming back for the atmosphere and view but am disappointed with the food every time. Third visit but my 1st review of Guanabanas. It's all about the location! 1st 2 visits were a little bit of a hassle, but Brunch this morning with Mom and son = perfect! This place as many of the reviews mentioned, it's really all about the atmosphere. It is one of the most beautiful places to eat or have a drink, but unfortunately that is it's best quality. The food is OK but it is extremely overpriced. If you plan to go for dinner on the weekend, expect to wait a very long time. They also have a great happy hour but it is first come, first serve. Many people end up standing around stocking other patrons waiting for them to leave their tables. The service has never been stellar here, but I guess it doesn't have to be because people keep coming back because of the atmosphere. It's a great place to take people from out of town, but I wouldn't choose it it on a regular night that we go out to eat. read more

I loved having dinner here. The coconut mohito is to die for + other cocktails rocked. We had the seafood florida friters and they were pretty good... I then had the local caught snapper in wine caper sauce and it was f&&king delish. Im drunk and I blame this restaurant. The atmosphere was better than the food but the food was pretty good. My Wife and I eat out about 4-5 times a week. We love Seafood and fresh local quality is what we seek out. Guanabanas is our new favorite spot!!! The food was excellent and they serve the best Mojito around. The service staff was polite, knowledgeable and fun. The Smoked Hot Wings and Fish Dip are incredible. We had 2 different Fish preparations, The Lemon Butter and the Potato Chip Crust. Perfectly prepared. The Blackened Shrimp and Corn Pudding were outta sight. Additionally the atmosphere is exactly what I want for a South Florida seafood restaurant. Amazing. Thank Heavens! I do not have to go eat at a strip mall. I heard the food rep from the past and I this place is not crappy bar food any longer. The Food is Right, The Price is Right, and The Service is Right. Try it. Great place at a awesome location. Right next to the water. We went there for drinks and appetizers. Chicken nachos, buffalo wings, and quesadillas. All made perfectly. There was no band playing on Monday night, but I will definitely come back next time when there's a band playing there. I loved the atmosphere at Guanabanas. Even though I was there pretty late, and it was a little dark to enjoy the view, just being in the restaurant felt like being transported to the tropics. It really reminded of Duke's in Hawaii. The service was great. Three of the four people in my dinner party had dietary restrictions, and our server had detailed knowledge about all of the dishes. The food was very good. I had blackened Red Snapper with a wedge salad. Everyone pretty much had fish. and I heard no complaints at all. I sampled the Red Snapper with macadamia crust and I have to say it was excellent. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area, if I can get in! I had attempted to have dinner there 3 times prior, but the wait was always 2+ hours. Finally, we got in on a cool Monday evening. So, arrive early, and bring a book, because you'll be waiting for a table if the weather is nice. read more

This place took me back in time!!! The most tropical, exotic and mystical restaurant I have ever been in the US! South East Asia anyone? It was amazing I had to go back 3 times within a week!! I ordered the coconut shrimp and chicken and some other dish but I do not remember. I was too busy observing and inhaling the tropical beauty of this place as well as people watching I didn't really care much about the food. The mist from the fans spraying from the ceilings to cool you off while you sip on your drink was a true restaurant paradize. For the time and location, the weather was fantastic as well. Nicer than NC weather during the hot heat of July. The second time we took the boat and dock right in front of the restaurant. Docking space was an issue, but we managed to squeeze our little girly boat and climbed up to the dock. It was a struggle but we made it. What an adventure!!! Here's my review of the new brunch - there is a lot of room for improvement. a LOT. For $25 there is a waffle bar (good) donut bar (don't know - but it all one flavor & you pick a topping) and a mess for eggs - overdone and sprinkled liberally with peppers - no other choice. The bacon was a sin - it was overdone and flavorless. The sausage was already getting cold and greasy. I could kick myself for not walking over....ALL the way over to where the food was from where we were seated to take a look at the selection before opting for the brunch. Don't get me wrong - the service was friendly, the place was clean, the bloody mary bar was impressive - but it was a completely cramped/overcrowded station - right next to paella with someone trying to keep the pilot light on while cooking. The eggs/bacon/sausage kept me away from trying the paella, which I think was a good thing because it looked like they kept the whole mess cooking in the huge pan for the entire time we were there - doesn't anyone remember seafood dries out/loses flavor when overcooked? The bloody mary was great - but that's because I added my own ingredients, LOL. Of course it was. The waffles were good, but they were already getting cold, so we had to rely on the heated syrup. They need better planning if this is to succeed. Everyone loves a good brunch - but $60 for a mess of burnt bacon, overdone eggs & greasy sausage isn't going do it - and the waffles/donuts are going to be great for the kids - but not so much the adults, Believe or not - the Carving Board in North Palm doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside has one helluva brunch spread for half the price, but no view. What a shame - I really, REALLY wanted this to be my go-to for weekends. read more

This place has consistently good food but is especially known for its unique environment. A tropical paradise dropped from the heavens onto the banks of a meandering lagoon. Can a lagoon meander? I guess we could ask the paddle-boarders. This place is a must visit when in the Jupiter area as long as the weather is pleasant. Any rain or strong winds and the restaurant closes its doors. And rightly so, people are looking for a tropical delight not a rain forest nightmare. Check the weather forecast then call to be sure. read more

The atmosphere, location, etc is really sweet. But I didn't come to sightsee, I came to eat. The macadamia coconut encrusted fish was SO GOOD but the lobster shrimp empanadas were just...meh. My cocktail and my friend's sangria were both pretty bad. The menu is limited. Somehow I just wanted/expected more from this place. Service was efficient and the food came out quick. Love it here, all outside seating, you feel like your in a jungle under the tiki bars. Sangria is delicious as are the chicken tacos (my husband loves the fish tacos as well). The corn tortilla was soggy, and the fish may have tasted okay except that the taco consisted of the fish, some cabbage and a large dollop of salsa and sour cream The whole thing was a soggy mess that simply tasted of salsa. I'd expected more from such a nice establishment. I frequently order fish tacos at restaurants and these were the worst I've had. Just poorly made food. Maybe drinks are the way to go.
