amazing date night at the beacon! happy hour / sunset is the best time to come. make your res a couple weeks out and sit outside for the best view! they have two outdoor areas - one on a covered but open-air patio, and one truly outside -- covered is best in case of rain. free valet parking... don't bother attempting the lot on a weekend. service was great! the bread is superb. warm, soft, buttery, flaky sea salt... cocktail shrimp are ENORMOUS and $2 each is the best deal in town. burrata and grilled fish sandwich were perfect. our star of the night was the key lime pie. We had not been back to The Beacon in some time. The interior has been redecorated; it is beautiful and appears very open and airy. The new seats are quite comfortable and, despite fairly loud music and a full house, we could still speak at conversational levels. Our server, Nick was excellent. He made good suggestions and checked back with us several times to make sure that everything was good. The food was spotty - - some excellent but some very poor. The good: The Crispy Rice with Spicy Shrimp was quite good - a nice mix of flavors and heat. The Corn Bisque was better than outstanding. It was rich and flavorful with plenty of fresh crabmeat as a garnish. The Key Lime Pie was excellent as well. Unfortunately, the kitchen "butchered" our mains. The Faroe Island Salmon, ordered medium rare was overcooked - just shy of cremated. I have never seen salmon so overcooked that it was white. Not a spec of pink anywhere. It was served on a bed of broccolini that was equally overcooked. My Chicken Milanese was so overcooked that it looked black. I sent it back and the replacement was edible, but still overcooked. Nick and management took care of the problems and adjusted the bill, but the kitchen should have been ashamed to send dishes out that were so overcooked. What a wonderful experience we had at The Beacon. Reading some reviews here, I was struck by what appeared to be some oddly negative reviews about the food, portions and prices. When we arrived, as requested we were seated outside with a beautiful, front row, unobstructed view of the sun setting on the Jupiter lighthouse. The food was nothing short of excellent. We started with the Burrata Caprese and the fish bites, then followed with the Yellowfin tuna Veracruz and the Cioppino Capellini. I tasted the tuna and enjoyed the cioppino myself and they were both substantially-sized, downright flavour bombs and beautifully plated. The cioppino in particularly nailed the balance of spice to create intrigue without approaching the point of overwhelm. They also managed to omit calamari on request, which I suspect wasn't easy. My companion ordered a hot tea with dinner as it was a bit chilly as the sun receded and this was forgotten. It was no problem but after asking the server to forget it as it was no longer needed, we were bombarded with apologies, offers of complimentary dessert and champagne. All were entirely unnecessary but appreciated. We accepted a single order of key lime pie to go, which I have yet to eat but is mouthwateringly presented. As we chatted with Anthony our server, we came to realize he was pushing through a particularly challenging service, but you'd never have known as he was absolutely delightful throughout. He was a high point. Admittedly, we are sober and while we did enjoy a couple of delicious mocktails, this does reduce the cost of a dinner out. I mention this because there was nothing untoward about the pricing of the foid we ordered, which was excellent. We all need to be more realistic about the actual costs of food and service. I will return to the Beacon for a special occasion in a heartbeat and would be delighted to be served by Anthony again. He was attentive, without being overbearing and simply fun. Note: the manager was also circulating, checking carefully on everyone's experience, including topping up water and the like. I also received a follow-up email before getting home, which was impressive. In summary? Excellent food, for the prices charged or any other and attentive, friendly service in a gorgeous setting. Made an early afternoon resey for Mother's Day Brunch. They offered a special menu for the occasion. Our server was very helpful and described the menu to point. We decided on the fried calamari to start. Entrees were the lobster (Maine) rigatoni and Snapper Green Curry. These were both off-the-chart delicious. Flavors were rich yet light. The pasta is made fresh daily. The green curry sauce noted lemongrass with creamy herbs. Compliments to the chef and staff for flavor and presentation. Finished the session with their Key Lime Pie including passion fruit and mango sauces. Holy cow, that was the prefect dessert. First time dining at Beacon. I want to start by thinking Anthony at the Beacon for a wonderful lunch service. We decided to have a little lunch I was really looking forward to try the octopus and Surf and Turf Skewers but it was not available that day. Anthony made some fantastic food recommendations and they did not disappoint. The spicy Tuna Rice was a hit, the Burrata and was delicious He and the owners treated us to a surprise desert. I strongly recommend the restaurant as the service was great the atmosphere and ambience was very nice and the views speak for themselves. We will be regulars there over the summer. We enjoyed sunset dinner and drinks on the lower level patio during happy hour. What a lovely view. Service was quite attentive and the appetizers were very good, I loved the duck tostadas. The drinks came as expected and the fish of the day (snapper) was fresh but I didn't prefer the sauce, it seemed to be just butter. There were plenty of open tables set in the shade but the hostess sat us in the direct sunlight, just would have loved for more thoughtfulness in this regard. We arrived early in the happy hour time frame. We made reservations and sat at the kitchen bar. Our server Miss Annie was attentive and a pleasure to talk with. It was a nice spot to sit and watch the staff prepare orders for the restaurant. We selected the Thursday night oyster and shrimp special and had a few plates before we ordered the fried calamari and zucchini. The oysters were fresh and tasty. The shrimp were a bit overcooked. The calamari were fried perfectly and were crispy and delicious. We will definitely return! You have 2 hours to enjoy all the shrimp and oysters you can eat for $25 per person. We went to The Beacon recently for happy hour and had a wonderful experience. One of the best parts is the flexibility to choose your own seat; we opted to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful view of the Jupiter Lighthouse. The happy hour deals are amazing. Drinks were half price, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the house vodka (New Haven) was in my martini. For food, we indulged in the oysters--at $2 each, they are the best deal around, tasting fresh and just like the ocean. The shrimp ($2 each) were enormous, and the tuna appetizer and fish sandwich were also very good. It's clear they are upping their game because the food has improved significantly since our last. The lobster bisque was more a broth with a couple pieces of lobster. Not a bisque at all. The charred broccolini was tough and tasteless. Even a sprinkling of salt would have improved the blandness. The duck "tacos": three tortilla chips piled with well cooked duck pieces. The spicy lobster pasta was tasty, even if it only held a few pieces of lobster. We noticed that most other guest were ordering sandwiches, which looked much better than our meals, but our guest is gluten free and they had no gluten free bread options. This waterfront restaurant is gorgeous and it was the perfect choice for our large group to have the final dinner of our work trip. We were well attended to and by our friendly server and although we came in close to closing time due to a change in our schedule they were so accommodating. We started with the Seafood Plateau which comes with a beautifully chilled tower of Florida shrimp, oysters, tuna crudo and fluke ceviche. The ceviche was such a burst of flavor and the shrimp were extra succulent. Everything was as fresh as you can get. And the starter bread rolls are served warm and toasty and are not to be missed. All of their pastas come in an appetizer or entree size which is a fun way to be able to order more but I knew I wanted the entree size of the Spicy Lobster Rigatoni all to myself. I asked to sub the rigatoni for their handmade fresh tagliatelle which was a 10/10 call if I do say so myself. Our server did note that they don't usually accommodate this request but were able to do so because it was the end of the night but honestly I think they should put it that way on the menu because the fresh pasta was phenomenal and elevated the dish. read more

I came here with a big group and the service was great I can't remember the waiters name with the red hair but he was absolutely fabulous. The manager went out of his way to make sure that our party was happy and they do have the best burger I've ever had in my life here. Will absolutely come back for happy hour and get that again, next time with my son. I will be back here 100 more times for the burger by no exaggeration. Parking was easy, either valet or there was a huge parking lot. We had a reservation. We were seated right away on the patio as we requested. The view is no doubt the best part. As beautiful as the restaurant was, the water and the lighthouse is quintessential Jupiter. Sit outside! We ordered a few cocktails and the grilled octopus appetizer. The Smokey and the Bandit old fashion (nice touch with the name!!) was perfectly made. I got the chancellor spritz and the watermelon/rosemary combination was excellent. Very well made! The grilled octopus was tender and very flavorful. A wonderful combination of beets, olives, potatoes and octopus. I wish there was more. There was a very small amount of actual octopus. I got the lobster bucatini. It was filled black peppercorn, butter, huge chunks of lobster claws and perfectly cooked lobster. Sadly the portion was extremely small. I certainly don't need a gigantic portion, but for the price, I expected more. My husband got the grouper. Again, delicious and flavorful but very small. It was fish and asparagus with nothing as a "base" like a polenta or potato. It was missing something. If we knew how small the portions were, we would have gotten sides or another appetizer. The best part of the whole experience was the dessert! Jennifer Woo is the pastry chef and absolutely amazing!! Her interpretation of these classic desserts was outstanding and most definitely the reason I chose 4 stars and not 3. GET THE DARK CHOCOLATE FOREST!! Very nice restaurant on the water. Lots of choices for everyone on the menu. For appetizers we got spicy tuna rice, calamari fritti, grilled octopus, chicken, and duck tostadas. My favorite was tuna rice. For dinner we got fish, and steak (both filet mignon and steak frite). When I tasted both steaks I thought the steak frite was more flavorful. Where to begin! Reservations for 4 were mistakenly made at Beacon Topside (floor 2) despite our plan to eat at "Beacon" (floor 1). The Hostess manager was rude and condescending never suggesting there were two different eating venues despite using the same telephone number in the past. We planned to eat outside but were told not gonna happen. Next came the food. Three of us ordered hamburgers, never asked how we wanted them cooked, and they all came out burnt like hockey pucks. Two of our party wanted mashed potatoes as a substitute for French fries but the waitress told us sorry no substitutions and we had to pay $9 each for two small orders of mashed potatoes. My wife ordered a lobster roll for $39 and got a puny frankfurter roll with a small smattering of lobster, a ridiculously high price for what she actually got. At the conclusion of our meal when the waitress prepared our bills she presented us with a tablet, no paper bill and expected us to sign without reviewing...when given the opportunity we realized the charges were incorrect. Lastly she appeared indifferent to our complaints. This was a terrible experience and we want to save others from being ripped off and insulted. Save your money go elsewhere!!! read more

Our waiter should not be serving people and he has no concern for treating folks appropriately. He made us feel like we shouldn't be there taking up his time. He misstated how the fish was prepared and took no responsibility for it being fried rather than sautéed although he replaced it with something else 40 minutes later. I've never returned food in my life but you couldn't even cut it with a knife. The same food was served to all 3 of us cold, over done and fishy tasting, not fresh. Everything he did was perfunctory! He left us for long periods of time although the final straw was when he dropped off the desert menus (he said we're on the house in recognition of the poorly prepared entrees) and left and never returned. Another waitress, Georgia, literally ran over to make sure our orders were taken and let us pay our bill. We never saw our waiter after he gave us the dessert menu. We went for Mothers day Dinner around 6 pm. This is the only place on the inlet with open tables and no wait. First warning sign. We were greated by BO the manger and seated immediately. I ordered their Coconut Lobster Bisque and the Crab cake and my wife had the Spicy Lobster Rigatoni. Service was pleasant and professional. The Bisque was ok but why do they need to put chili oil in it? If you cannot cook with flavor hiding that by adding chili oil will not fix your plate. The Handmade Crab cake was not handmade. It was packed and perfectly round like a pressed burger. Not the light fluffy crab cake you would expect being handmade. Finally the Spicy Rigatoni was so tart. They went way overboard with some sort of citrus that spoiled the entire plate. Our first visit here - valet parking & reservation recommended. A beautiful view of the Jupiter lighthouse, ambiance is beautiful. We ordered the steak tartare as appetizer, prepared perfectly. Our entrees: Lobster Bucatini, grilled swordfish & bone-in pork chop. We shared them all & they were cooked to perfection. We couldn't resist dessert so ordered the Meyers lemon & carrot cake, both were delicious but the Meyer lemon was the best I have ever had.
