Absolutely delicious hearty food with extremely generous portions. The food is bursting with robust flavors right till the sauces and other items in their toppings bar. We had ordered the enchilada verde and fajitas texanas and we could eat a full dinner with enough left over for a full lunch too. I have lived in the triangle for almost 10 years, coming from Los Angeles. In my time here, I have been to many Mexican restaurants, very good but mostly Americanized chain stuff. This place reminded of L.A. and their authentic fresh Mexican food. The cashier was so friendly and my food (enchiladas verdes) was by far the best I've had in North Carolina. I was totally disappointed in this place after seeing all the positive reviews. I went because I was really looking forward to having some authentic Mexican tacos and this place is relatively close to where I live. The restaurant is nothing special on the outside or inside, the service was friendly enough and quick, but the tacos were gross. I had the asada and the carnitas tacos... the meat was fatty with not much flavor and did not taste fresh. I left half the meat on the plate as it had huge chunks of fatty parts. Very disappointing. The meat was tough at places and overall just not good quality meat at all. I would not try this place again based on the food. The price was good for the portion, but the tacos were gross. read more

The Fajitas Texans platter with grilled beef, shrimp, chicken, onions and peppers was so good and more than my wife and I could eat (we shared one order). Salsa bar has about a dozen condiments to go with your meal. Very excellent Fajitas. Ambiance not very Mexican but all the other customers were - this is where the real Mexicans eat. I've been going here for six years (if you count its Los Comales incarnation, which you should). This place is so so wonderful. The servers are nice, the restaurant is clean, the prices are very reasonable for this graduate student, and best of all the food is totally delicious. Whenever any of my friends or family visit from out of town, they always suggest we go here right away. Current favorite dishes are the pupusas, the burritos, the tacos, the quesadillas, and the horchatas. Also try their crazy good (and messy) pambazo tortas! The salsa bar is fresh and changes daily, but they always have a standard salsa rojo, a salsa verde, and a salsa made with guajillo chiles (my favorite), chopped cilantro, chopped Spanish onions, and pico de gallo. The tables seat four but you can always add a high chair. read more

Been to both Superior and Super Taqueria more times than I can count. I think this place may have both beat, but just by a smidge. Really great flavor on the tacos and pupusas. Salsas were solid. Slightly more expensive than the other taquerias we've frequented on Roxboro, but I can live with that. As an aside, when we first moved here from Texas - we kept hearing how awesome Los Comales was (same owners). We went to the short-lived location near off 15-501 and found it ridiculously expensive (10 bucks for enchiladas at a taqueria?) and totally disappointing. So glad to hear that the buzz was right about the original location on Roxboro. read more
