    (B7) Fried Tofu Bánh Mì
    Andrea A.

93 Banh Mi & Tea is the newest Vietnamese spot in this area! Overall, I thought my meal was decent. I got the tofu bánh mì: while the tofu, bread, and veggies were good, it needed a lot more aioli and was thus a bit dry. The brown sugar boba was classic with a good amount of sweetness and tea flavor plus chewy boba, but nothing mind blowing. There's a large parking lot, which is nice. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance is casual, a little on the smaller side. 7/10 would recommend, though I'm partial to the other bánh mì spot in this neighborhood.

Cute little banh-mi-focused cafe in New Hope Commons. You order at the counter with a person or at a touchscreen, and they'll bring food to your table. I got the popcorn chicken and the special combo banh mi. My food came out in just under 15 minutes. Everything is made to order. The popcorn chicken was hot and juicy. The salt and pepper seasoning isn't as heavily applied as at Quickly, but it came with a little container of sweet chili sauce. Would definitely get this every return visit. The banh mi was served on house made bread with a shatteringly crisp exterior. Their bread is on the lighter and fluffier side for a banh mi baguette. The pork in the special combination was a bit bland for my taste, and I would've liked a heavier smear of pate for salty umami depth. Still, loved the bread, loved the popcorn chicken, eager to return and try the other bahn mi options. And still giving this 5 stars because the bahn mi are under $10, and there's not too many places where you can get such tasty food made with care at that price point!

A nice spot to grab a bahn mi sandwich for lunch! I got the special combo sandwich which was pork and pate on a baguette with fresh cucumber, carrots, and cilantro. The sandwich ingredients and bread tasted fresh. The portions were on the smaller side, though I thought appropriate for the price, which is lower than other bahn mi spots in the area. I also got a matcha latte which was just okay (a bit too sweet for my taste). Staff were friendly and our orders were prepared quickly. The restaurant is located in the New Hope Commons shopping center (bonus - with easily accessible parking).

Tried 93 Banh Mi & Tea today and really enjoyed it! The shop was decorated and had a good amount of seating for the amount of customers coming in and out. The service was quick and they also remained open on the snow day which was extra nice. There were a lot of customers who also bought Banh Mi to go. I think all of the items I ordered were great in terms of flavor but I really liked the Banh mi bread the most. It was surprisingly both crispy and soft. I also think the price was great for the portion size. I would definitely come again!

Finally, we have a Bahn Mi restaurant in Durham! They have house-made baguettes for the sandwiches, which have a perfect crisp and consistency. I have tried the B1 (special combo) and B7 (tofu) and both meet the mark. Great fresh toppings. They brought the food out fast. Nice tropical ambiance. I'll definitely be back.

Banh mi dac biet with "cold cuts" was so good (they're not cold meats btw). They use pate which is sometimes missing from other Banh mi. To go veggies came in adorable little zip locs. The crispy pork Banh mi was also good just cause it's crispy pork but I prefer cold cuts. We got the grilled pork sub as well which was flavorful. The bread was perfect. Crispy outside and fluffy inside. Wasn't so hard that it crumbles all over you each bite. We also got the popcorn chicken which could've probably used more salt/msg? But still yummy! And they were so kind and patient even though we placed a somewhat large order about 15 minutes before they closed. Such a cutely decorated inside too!

Ok! I fell in love with Bahn Mi in Houston and was sad to leave all that good food and come to Durham.... However, plot twist! Durham has a variety of people, culture and food... and Bahn Mi!!!!!! This was amazing ! The bread was fresh, crispy outside and soft inside. The employees were over the moon nice. The order was delivered fast and fresh. The veggies and tofu was yummy. I would ask for extra "meat" next time. A little light handed on the ingredients but the flavor is there!

This is the top spot for exceptional Banh Mi sandwiches and other Vietnamese street food! They bake their own baguettes in house. That alone should tell you this place is legit. The bread has an amazing crunch and toasted exterior with a soft, airy inside. Needless to say, the Banh Mi tastes like they're straight off a Vietnamese street vendor's cart- delicious and flavorful! As a bonus, the place is family-owned and the all the workers are kind and professional! Try their popcorn chicken. It's marinated and perfect for an appetizer for 2-3 people. And of course, get a sandwich!

Excellent! There isn't a restaurant like this nearby. They mainly serve Banh Mi, coffee, and teas. The bread is homemade and crunchy. The fillings are refreshing and crispy. I recommend a special combo which has pate, pork belly, and pork roast in it. Ambience is casual. I am happy this place decided to open here, and I hope they get a lot of business! The service is timely and friendly

This area is getting a lot of bánh mì spots - tried this new place for lunch. I ordered two bánh mìs (crispy pork and egg) along with the popcorn chicken. The chicken portion was smaller than expected and a bit dry, though the flavor was okay. The bánh mìs were more "sparse/empty" than I anticipated. And, the veggies were not pickled (my daikon or pickled carrots...). The bread tasted okay but like standard store-bought white bread (my baguette...). That said, the prices were very affordable, and the quality felt consistent with what you'd expect for the cost and portion size!! I chose my order to go, but the little restaurant is well decorated, cozy, and inviting, and service was relatively fast. Overall, it's a solid option if you're on a budget. Personally if you specifically want bánh mì I think Gossip Tea across the road has better quality bánh mì, though it's also more expensive.

We were in the area and stumbled across this spot on google. I am so glad we stopped by! We came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and ordered at the counter. we ordered one grilled pork banh mi and one cold cut ($8.99). We decided to eat in and our food came out within 10 mins. We love banh mi and i can definitely say this was one of my favorite banh mis i've had! The bread was warm and perfectly crispy. The cold cut was my favorite. I will definitely be back!

We were in the area after doing some shopping and I remembered reading about a banh mi shop nearby. We stopped in late on a weekday and placed our orders at the counter: spring rolls, a combination (dac biet) banh mi and a tofu banh mi. We would have loved some Vietnamese coffee but that would have kept us up. A cute little gentleman brought us the spring rolls and they definitely seemed handmade due to their long shape (I suspect some places reheat frozen spring rolls). He then brought our banh mi and we enjoyed them better than those from another nearby tea lounge. They were good, filling and relatively cheap. The atmosphere is very casual and there looked to be some college students hanging out and other patrons picking up orders. I read this is a family-owned restaurant and I can see the care they put into it. Will definitely be back, perhaps to try other menu items like their beef stew.

We ordered the pork belly bahnmi and the combination bahnmi. OMG!!! They are both outstanding! 10/10! We will come back 100%!!!

Although this is true of most Asian desserts, I appreciated that they specifically note that their gelatinous ingredients are not gelatin but instead have plant-based origins, which is important for many special dietary needs.
