SCAM ALERT - Beware! This has happened to me twice now with two different cashiers. First incident: The owner himself rang me up. I ordered a $16 protein bowl, but he charged me nearly $20. When I questioned it, he said there was a "surge charge" for eggs. Egg prices have already gone down, and my bowl had maybe one scrambled egg in it. If he had mentioned the charge upfront and given me the choice, I might have understood. But he didn't. He eventually honored the original price, but it got awkward. Second incident: Different cashier, same shady behavior. I ordered a $14 chicken wrap and was charged nearly $17. It feels like they're trying to sneak in an extra 10-20% on every order. I don't have much to say about this place other than it provides value and quality options. Luckily this restaurant is my neighborhood and since I've changed jobs I've been eating out a bit more and it's nice to have this healthy option. First and foremost, I will say I love that they have Happy Hour that includes food and drinks. I've only gotten one thing off of the happy hour menu, the stuffed avocado. It's an avocado filled with shrimp on top of a bed of lettuce; basically a salad but I'm not mad at that. I've been here more so for their smoothies. Please note that their main menu is not up to date and it does not include up charges for changes like plant-based protein and etc. Those are pretty much only two things that I have had and neither of them were amazing. But their menu is extensive but not too overwhelming. If you want a snack or just a smoothie they have that for you, if you want a full on meal, they had that as well. And the menu is dominated by generally healthy items. Honestly that is what I really like about this place. The decor is nothing notable but I have never seen the place out of order. Ok so I'm writing this review a few weeks late. I so wanted to love this place. The first time we came, it was a little slow but everything was good - it was me and two of my coworkers. The second time we came, i just got a juice & breakfast, no complaints. The third time, I tried ordering ahead since I'm on my lunch break and pressed for time, but when I called, the girl who answered the phone told me she was too busy to take my order and could we call back later. What? So my coworkers and I went in and ordered three of the lunch specials. One of my coworkers asked for one of the sandwiches on a wrap instead of bread and I asked for no tomatoes because I am deathly allergic. The cashier obliged and we felt a little vindicated because we told him about the issue with calling the order in and he apologized. When our names were called to come get our sandwiches, The older lady made it a point to call me by name and tell me that on the lunch special no substitutions could be made. That was an extremely rude way to make a customer feel special by calling them by their name (sarcasm). when we finally got in the car, one of the sandwiches was completely wrong: it was something that we didn't even order but had we turned around, we would have been late to work. They did replace it later which is one redeeming quality but that didn't stop my coworker from missing lunch that day. Verdict: food is pretty good but I can't deal with bad customer service - especially since my bill is over $50 every time for three people. You'd think they would be able to make a little change, especially one that is probably decreasing their cost. read more
