I am writing this review with a very heavy heart. I spent a week looking at place for my mom, I went to Cogir Brea, Silverado, Sunrise, Active Care, The Ivy Bradford, many memory care only places, and 7 board and cares. Guardian Angels stood out, and it was a perfect fit for my mother. We planned to move her in on 1/10. Sonja and Jonathan took the extra care needed, and invited my mom to dinner with the residents on 1/8. They attended a conference call with my sister in another state, they were very loving and compassionate. On 1/9, things took a turn for the worst and my mother had a massive seizure that she was not coming back from. She had several others, and she began actively passing and went home on 1/15. Guardian Angels was with us on the phone through all of it, even though we had just met them, they felt like family. They truly care about their residents, and they do this from the love within their hearts. Some places are all about the money, this place is not. They have been in the business for over 30 years, and they know what they are doing!!!. Thank you for everything, I wish things didn't happen like this, but we are not in charge. read more

These people know how to run a board and care! My mother, mother in law and dad were in their care and I can't say enough about how amazing the care was. I am so grateful for the care my brother received while living at Guardian Angels Tea House home. The staff were very good at keeping my brother clean, fed and happy with physical activities. We moved my dad into one of the homes operated by Guardian Angels Homes after he had become too high of acuity for his assisted living community. We had only a few days to figure out his residence because of a discharge from a rehab facility. From the beginning Sonia (owner and administrator) was great. She understood the process and was very empathetic. She worked with her Contractor and had them work over the weekend to finish up a room remodel for the room into which he was moving so it was ready to receive him. The home was clean, room was reasonable size and there was a bathroom connected to the room. As important, the staff was amazing. They were compassionate, caring and attentive to his needs. They worked with us as he transitioned to hospice and accommodated every reasonable request. We had access to visit him during this time which was special so he had interactions and knew he wasn't alone (he had Ben in lockdown in him former community for months). His quality of life was greatly enhanced by his stay with Guardian Angels Homes. The owners were also available at all hours. We would text them with questions and get responses in a short period of time. These included questions on medications, care, visits or just about anything else. They understood our concerns for my dad and treated him, and us, like family. I would absolutely recommend anyone needing care for a loved one at this level to use Guardian Angels Homes. read more

As a Hospice nurse, I do a lot of visits to facilities and board and cares, I get to see a lot, and notice a lot of things. Guardian Angels Homes are by far the best I have every seen. And I have been all over LA and OC. It's not just about how nice and clean a place is... it's everything overall. The patients are happy and well cared for, you can see the quality of life in their eyes. My patient there never had a fall, never had a wound, never had weight loss, never had bowel problems. The caregivers are on top of everything, anything I need, meal records, sleep record, bowel movement records, etc...they have it all down. Ms. Sonia/Kelly know everything that is going on, they are very involved. I put in a medication order, it's already followed out immediately the next day. I cannot ask for a better place. I would feel absolutely comfortable putting my family here. As a medical professional, I wish all places took this much effort in our loved ones. Several years ago our family was trying to find the best place for our mother who was diagnosed with Dementia and no longer could function on her own. After a year of looking and trials at other assistant living facilities we were referred to Guardian Angels Homes. It was a blessing for us as well as our mother. With the wonderful caretakers; Darwin, Ophelia, Jenny, and many more, this home became our mother's home. We were comforted knowing our mother was being taken care of with the upmost care. Sonia Garcia and her daughter Kelley, owners of the homes would meet with us on regular basis to provide us with updates on the care and stages of our mom. They guided us through the many stages and were always available for us 24/7 if we had questions or concerns. They truly are blessings. I can't praise the home enough! I had my Mom in a Guardia Angels Board and Care home for nearly 1.5 years. Prior to that she was at a large, fancy facility in Memory Care. As her Alzheimer's progressed the care decreased. She was routinely falling, had extreme rashes, constant UTI's and the staff was not trained in proper showering or basic grooming. I moved my Mom to Guardian Angels. In nearly 1.5 years my Mom NEVER had 1 fall, not one rash or skin tear, not 1 UTI AND they successfully showered and groomed her every day. I randomly visited my Mom. Never on the same weekly day or time. Every time I visited she was clean down to her fingernails, always sitting up at the dining room table with other residents where it's bright and lots of activity happening around her. The staff was patient with feeding my Mom and I felt and saw a sincere caring bond coming from the staff. I would highly, without any reservation, recommend any of the Guardian Angel homes. Sonia and Kelly made the transition for my good friend from home to group home easy. They asked for her likes and dislikes of food and entertainment and accommodated her wishes. Unable to move her arms well the caregivers changed tv channel, answered her personal phone and helped her eat when needed. Unable to visit during parts of the shut down they accommodated our phone calls and outdoor visits. All her caregivers catered to her wishes. The last year and a half was difficult for everyone but Sonia and Kelly facilitated getting the best in home nursing. When hospice was need they took care of it too. Easy communications by text because I have difficulty hearing made it easy to keep in touch. If I ever had any concerns I was always answered and reassured within minutes. The home is beautiful and the grounds like a park. The best thing I can say: the last week of my friends life I asked her if she wanted to go home. Guardian Angels is an amazing find for seniors who need a peaceful, and safe home. I work in the health field (PhD neuropsychology and clinical psychology) and have seen literally hundreds of patients go to various facilities and homes. Thus I am very familiar with what the industry has to provide. Unfortunately my father became ill and needed supervision and help with his activities of daily living. He over the course of a couple of years went to a couple of the high-priced assisted-living facilities which treated him unconscionably and even kicked him out. Sonya Garcia is a wonderful woman--very educated, and philanthropic who runs her home with expertise and love. Our family was so lucky to get my father into A cheerful room where he lived his life out with the full support of her wonderful staff. He was actually a tremendous handful and yet they handled him brilliantly. They never kick folks out, and are very reasonably priced. I can recommend no place better than guardian angels to care for people with their excellently trained staff and caring owners. It was a situation no one ever wants to be in. Our father, with advanced dementia, became ill with Covid in the memory care unit of the assisted living facility where he had lived for a few years. He was hospitalized and critically ill, but survived two weeks and deemed stable for discharge although he could not eat or drink. Hospice was recommended and admittedly appropriate as he was a poor rehab candidate. Thus began the search for a place. Sonia Garcia is well-known in Orange County and came highly recommended although we looked at several other care options because we wanted the best care for our Dad, who required total care. My dad spent the last 11 days of his life in Sonia's care. Her caregivers were outstanding, sweet, loving and hardworking. There were 6 residents in her home on Tea House Street and an awake nighttime caregiver. Sonia herself would take the night shift if extra help was needed. The hospice company recommended to us was terrible and Sonia put us in contact immediately with the hospice company who cared for her own mother (Warm Care Hospice). I can't say enough about this woman who accepted a covid+ patient (although no longer infectious 6 weeks after the initial positive test, still tested + at hospital discharge) at the end of his life with no home to go to and family members scattered around the US. It was as seamless as possible in a wrenching situation. We were able to decorate his room and be with him during the last days. I hope you are never in this situation, but if you are, check with Guardian Angels Homes (there are 4). It was clean, warm, and our dad was carefully watched and cared for. read more

Guardian Angels homes is an amazing place for seniors. The staff is friendly, kind and very efficient. I am a volunteer who often went to the homes to sing to the patients and the homes were always immaculate and patients well cared for. Very happy and lively atmosphere full of love and caring. The owners are very well educated and I am very impressed with the knowledge they have caring for Alzheimer patients. I would definitely highly recommend them. read more
