The quality and type of care and accommodations is very pleasant. The sales staff, Ben & Romel are super and totally explain everything. I m temporarily living in a one bedroom apartment (with a balcony) but I'm anxiously awaiting a spot in a two bedroom apartment due to their Move-in, Move-up flexibility. I was told that I'm first on the list for a 2 bedroom apartment as soon as one becomes available. The amenities here are great. We have a nice library, pool & spa, salon, fitness center and lots of opportunities to enjoy the movies and numerous presentations that are offered. The food is terrific most of the time. We worked it out with the chef. Maintenance and clerical folks are extremely helpful and go over and above to accommodate our needs. read more

I've now lived at Regents Point for almost 3 years. My wife and I selected this community after considering 11 others and we're very happy with our choice. From the time of our first visit, we were impressed with the friendliness of the residents. Now that we've moved here, we've come to appreciate the friendliness and care of the staff - from the always-there front desk personnel, to the maintenance and dining staff, to the activities coordinator, to the health care people, and to the person that cleans our apartment. This review is for the front desk lady that works here, I believe her name is Edith? We care give a lovely patient here Tuesdays and Thursday mornings, but every single time we check in to the front, we are unpleasantly greeted or ignored by her. To begin with, she is either staring down at her phone, or glances and looks away quickly without saying anything. I stopped saying Good Morning when I check-in because I would get a low-tone-mumbled good morning or no response at all. I know it doesn't seem like much to pay attention to, but when your walking in to a building at 7:50am for the last 6 months with a positive attitude, and have to greet an unpleasant person and never get a response, it eventually becomes draining. We arrive enthusiastic to see our patient, and the moment we get close to the door it's an "Ugh, here we go again" attitude change with this person. Do better, or change jobs if you hate working front desk so much. read more

We felt like this was home after only one week, with residents that went out of their way to meet us and make us feel welcome. We have many new friends now, food is great, many activities. What a great we found for our elderly years. After retiring from university life and wanting to live where we could spend time with three children and our grandkids, we were fortunate to find this facility of over two hundred who benefit from "continuing care" in the outstanding city of Irvine in Orange County. We couldn't be happier after spending seven year here, enjoying new friends and benefiting by living right by a large super county park with a lake which boasts white pelicans, crested cormorants, with vermilion flycatchers, kingbirds and bluebirds to charm us. My grandmother stayed here for over a year before she passed. It's been almost 6 months, but I wanted to come back and write a review because Regent's Point Windcrest were fantastic. She had previously been at another SNF in Santa Ana prior to transferring here, and the difference in attention and attitude were clear. Although she couldn't speak English and had some dementia, the staff were always kind to her and responsive to our needs. Aaron, the social worker, was professional and empathetic every time we needed something or raised an issue. So were the nurses, especially Joe and Jed. Maria, one of the CNAs, would go out of her way to let us know how much my grandmother ate or how she was doing, even when she wasn't assigned to my grandmother. Our family cannot thank everyone at Windcrest enough for how much they helped us in taking care of my grandmother in her last days. To the management, please reward your staff for their hard work and keep up the great standard of care you showed our family. read more

Beside the food , the rest is just as bad as it gets . Elderlies are treated like mice in labs ! They don't have enough staff to response timely , bathing is twice a week , They don't take the poor old babies outside to get some sunlight . My father cries every time I'm there and when I ask the reason he says they treat him like a dog . His bed smells like urine ALL THE TIME ! He's 90 and he needs assistance with feeding brushing tooth , everything . He doesn't get those services all the time . If you ask a worker something , they always say " I don't know , let me find out " ! And that's it .... Most of the time no response . Most power cable for the beds are pinched ( High risk of fire ) . Most nursing facilities are scam , they charge medicare / Medical a lot but they don't provide service accordingly . Almost all the old babies there have memory issue and that's why they take advantage of it . read more

Expensive, Poorly Managed, with a Soul Crushing Culture Our senior parents invested $200k upfront, plus hefty monthly fees, to move into Regents Point (RP), a poorly run, fragmented continuing care community. Once our parents needed more care outside of independent living, we expended much effort trying to get RP to meet the basic terms of their contract, while watching our parents deteriorate in this environment. Finally, we moved our parents out, to a well-run assisted living facility at a similar monthly price with no buyin, where they thrived. I've worked at Regents Point for over 6 years and am deeply connected to the team, the residents, and the supportive culture. I've been in the Windcrest Skilled Nursing Facility for almost 2 of those years. The team members are responsible, caring, attentive, and ever so kind, with seemingly unlimited compassion and patience. They manage to do their jobs well, even when faced with challenges. Many have worked at Regents Point/Windcrest for 10, 20, even 30 years. The doctors who attend to the residents are superb, most affiliated with Hoag. Windcrest has an overall Medicare star rating of 5/5, one of the highest categories of this rating being Quality Measures. Overall a wonderful place to be. read more

Regents point is a senior care community. My father lived there until his death and my mother still lives there. I would recommend it, especially because it has a caring staff, a good range of services, and nice facilities. Both the residents and staff are very nice and that is a huge plus. Food is fancy but a bit institutional. Overall I think regents point was a good choice. It isn't cheap but worth it if you can afford it. read more

Our family is grateful for the wonderful care that our mother received at Windcrest Skilled Nursing Facility, Regents Point. When our Mother fell and fractured her hip and shoulder and within 7 months from leaving rehab from that event, she had a stroke, we felt so lucky that we found an excellent "home away from home" for her to rehab and receive care. It's definitely not easy to trust others to take care of your 97-year-old Mother. During both admissions, family members visited Windcrest almost every day and observed and interacted with most of the staff. We saw firsthand that our Mom was in a safe, clean, and caring atmosphere until she passed a couple of weeks ago. We were impressed with the kindness, patience, and compassionate care that all the nursing staff displayed. It takes special people to day-in and day-out diaper, feed, bathe, dress, and dispense meds to residents residing at Windcrest. We found that all of the staff including the nurses, CNAs, cooks, janitors, activities director, physical therapists, occupational therapists, administrators, and social worker worked well as a team and genuinely seemed happy to be there. They responded graciously to our special requests regarding our Mother. Others, helped each other when it came to lifting and repositioning our mother. They did anything to avoid causing Mom pain. The camaraderie of the staff made for an unbelievably positive atmosphere. But above all, the staff loved our Mother. They loved her kindness, gratefulness, and her wittiness. When she died, many expressed their deepest sympathy and how they will miss her. There are just so many good people at Windcrest! As far as problem solving, the Social Worker, Aaron Ampula was a Godsend. He listened well, found options and helped coordinate care. Some of the coordination was between Windcrest and Hospice, some was with outside medical consultants. The nursing supervisors at the desk were also very helpful. They were always kind and courteous, answering questions as they popped up. Mom had regular visits from Chaplain Jo who spent time asking Mom what mattered most to her and then she would pray with mom and sing her songs. This was comforting to Mom and our family members. Needless-to-say, this family felt blessed to have our mother in such a nice skilled nursing facility. We could not have found a better staff to care for our beautiful, brave, and loving Mother. There are many good things about this place. It is a very upscale community. A lot of money is needed to live here at any of the levels: independent, assisted, memory care, etc. And, of course, it has been a difficult time. My aunt is in the independent apartments there. However, this complaint predates COVID and has continued in a way that is unacceptable and upsetting. It doesn't matter when my Aunt calls for any reason to anyone for two years: dining, maintenance, transportation - an answering machine answers. No one EVER picks up the phone here. And messages are returned infrequently. There was a time a month ago when dinner was ordered and it never arrived. My Auntie had no food. There is a high monthly rate, as well as, a high buy-in here and still there is never anyone answering the phones. It is so frustrating. Again, there are so many good things, but they need to pick-up their game! They need to answer their phones. They must respond to residents. read more

My grandparents live here and they have been very happy with it. It is a safe place for them, they have great food, as well as a gym that has trainers who work very well with the elderly. It seems to have a thriving community and I get the feeling whenever I visit that all of the residents enjoy themselves. read more

I am 56 years old and I was a resident at Windcrest -which is the Skilled Nursing Facility at Regents point- for 5 1/2 months. I can't say enough good things about the place I suffered a spinal cord injury in June of 94 thank God for St Jude Hospital spinal cord rehab I am ambulatory. I needed a complete right shoulder replacement in October 2017 which is why I ended up in the Skilled Nursing Facility. Every aspect of my rehab was addressed mental,physical, social. My shoulder rehab with Occupational therapy I gained results that amazed and pleased my Surgeon. The staff was receptive, respectful and knowledgeable in fact I'll be back there when my left shoulder gets done I highly recommend this facility read more

This place saved my fathers life-literally. The people there are so nice and caring. We went from a potential hospice situation (due to a back injury- father is still younger) to going home within 3 weeks because of the help of this facility. I am researching places that provide a higher level of care for my parents who are currently in another assisted living facility. After visiting Brookdale which is right next door - I had lost faith in facilities providing superior care (see my Brookdale Irvine review). I was immediately greeted by Nancy - a sales counselor - who was impeccably dressed, professional and caring. She answered all my questions - or if she could not - told me she would find out the answer. First impressions are everything. She knew every resident as we walked through the facility. The place offers a continuum of services that may well be the answer for my aging parents. I cannot say enough about the quality of this place - schedule your own tour! read more

If you are considering this place to live I would dig deep into the expenses. my parents live there and I have some deep concerns on the added costs for each extra care. The staff is very unorganized on communicating together, following up on required paperwork and offering clear financial obligations to the family. Not to mention one of the doctor,s offering services at the facility is on probation with the State medical board do your homework. My grandma lived here for years until she passed away. She started in the apartments where there is help if you need but basically you are on your own. She then moved to the skilled area when her Parkinson's became worse. They were really great! Yes it's not cheep but it's beautiful and they take good care of your family members. read more

My Husband just spent 3 months at Windcrest. and it was the most wonderful place you could possible ask for in that situation. we never saw a frowny face or distasteful word. they all loved my husband and showed it. he was kind and cooperative to them and they were to him in return.. he was there during the holidays and the decorations were so beautiful and made you feel very comfortable if you had to be away from home during the holidays? that was the best place you could ask for. the food and diet is exceptionall. they would make anything special for him to eat! all he had to do was ask for something. if we ever have to be in a situation like that again? My wife and I moved to Regents Point a little over two years ago. We knew that we were going to a very nice facility located near the UCI campus where we could easily walk to the shops that support the campus. What we didn't know was that we had a large group of friends that we had not yet met. We a happy here and glad we made the move. We are part of a fairly large group of residents who visit and do other volunteer work at the assisted living and full scale nursing facilities on campus. In total about 20,000 hours volunteer work is provided each year. So those people who go to higher level of care than independent living get good professional care plus the equivalent of about 10 extra people who do volunteer work. I submitted this review because I have been so impressed with the programs I see (when I am doing volunteer work there) being offered to the residents in the assisted living portion of Regents Point (Sunridge). jk read more

Having moved my mom here from another facility (that shall remain nameless) this is one excellent facility. Trust me I did my research and have found none of the problems that Ms Janet O. seems to have had. Staff is excellent and highly involved with the residents and never fails to contact me or my brother ( who happens to live across the street ) regarding anything of importance concerning our mother. Meals are EXCELLENT with a beautiful dining that allows visitors to dine at no extra charge. Rack of lamb w/ champagne Christmas dinner for 8 ? No problem and no charge. Only facility in Orange Co. with a totally skilled and accredited nursing staff. Personally I sleep much better now knowing mom is in good hands and cared for at Regents Point. read more
