Let me start by saying, wow! The facilities and atmosphere at Guardian are absolutely phenomenal and not something you typically see in NY. I'll call it a hidden gem because you can definitely miss it if you're not paying attention but once you find it I don't think you can ever forget the Guardian name and team. Matt and Jamie are running something truly special for firearms enthusiasts of all levels. Every shelf and case is full of anything you can imagine from entry level to Call of Duty level prestige. Jamie and two of her team members (I feel terrible I didn't get their names) spent time listening to what I was looking for and then gave me their insight and helped me narrow down my choices. Jamie even showed me one of my options from her personal collection and explained that they offer demo rentals on their range. In the end I purchased something I couldn't find anywhere else on the island. Matt (Jamie's husband) came over and introduced himself and thanked me for coming in. He explained some of the amenities and offerings at Guardian should I want to take advantage of those. I will absolutely be back to dive further into those. Just happened to pass this store and decided to stop in. The store had a gun shop, paper range, digital range, and a classroom for training. The shop was very clean. The staff were very nice and very helpful. I know I will be going back here. The young man that helped me at the counter was the most polite and helpful person I've encountered in any retail establishment in years. read more

I finally got my Pistol Permit and went there based on their great reviews. They did not disappoint . Matt the owner made me feel welcome and appreciated as a customer as well as show me the MOST amazing facility. I own my own business and treat people the way they expect. LIKE THEY MATTER! I've gone here a few times with my husband and I'd love it. The selection is great and the employees are knowledgeable with their guns. My husband asked about one gun and the employee knew right away, which one he was looking at. The building is small. The front these decoys for birds and they remember a few of them being dogs that look like German Shepherds. Been around when the wind blew this noise that sounded like they were boinging. That was meant for, and he said that he assumed they were for the birds. My husband and I went to pick up a few things for him, and when they were doing the background check, we figured they would be a while considering the last time he had to pick stuff up and it took about a day for the background check to go through. We went to go home to go and pick up a washer and dryer and drop that stuff off. As we were about a block or so away from the house, they called my husband stating that the background check passed and we were able to come and pick up the items that he had ordered, about 45 minutes. So I told my husband that considering we are almost home to drop me and two items off so that way he's not driving around with that stuff in the truck. So that's what he did. Not sure how they have 5 out of 5 for reviews. I called looking for a Trijicon RMR HD 3.25MOA. The guy I spoke to on the phone said they had it in stock but they couldn't give me a price over the phone. I drove to the store and the lady at the counter said they don't have any in stock and that is a year and a half back order from Trijicon. Wish I didn't have to drive 45 minutes to find out they didn't have the sight I need. read more

Made a 1400 dollar purchase he picked out a gun bag a holster all different bullets without asking made me pay when I was done he said oh we do a quick background check it takes 5 minutes no worries after 45 minutes of waiting I asked the kid then said oh sometimes it takes up to a week why wasn't I told this before I paid then we got denied the background check he charged 25 percent restock fees he changed us 150 dollars restock fees with he never said a word no signs to let us know and the only thing he actually restocked was a 12 gauge Mossberg rifle that cost 495 dollar the rest of the stuff we took 25 percent of one item is 150 no he charged 25 percent on the 1400 total bill he thinks he's slick I took a background check after he advised me not to because I live at the same address as my wife I passed I got the same gun for 400 I offered to take the background check right there that day he said no no that's dangerous he's full of shit he scamming robbing people it's amazing all his reviews are 5 stars really I talked to a few different people who had the same thing happened to them at this store amazingly they said they posted reviews but were deleted within hours of posting what's up with that my wife was manipulated and he made a sale to someone under false pretense it against the law and it's been done quite a few times at that store it was wrong it was a low and I would be ashamed of myself if that's what I had to do to make a living my experience was very disappointing I felt robbed tricked and mislead be careful I only added one star because it wouldn't post unless u added a star I would have rated my experience negative 5 stars if I was able to read more
