They are the subject matter experts on all things that go bang and will show you the door if you ask dumb questions or lack recognition. Remember this rule --they see you as the wild card here. It's been about 3 years since I last shot at Guardian and I have visited their shop on and off getting a better vibe of the staff so I decided to try their night vision course beginning of the month. Won't lie to you, I had a blast! So much so I decided on my next visit to sign up for the Gold membership. Well on my next visit as I was ready to prepare pay for the membership (and for some reason they don't take a full annual payment) I was notified I was flagged and they wouldn't be able join. They provided me contact information to request an appeal and several weeks went by without a response. OK, I thought, I guess my appeal was denied so I'll just occasionally go to the event classes they have. Went tonight for one of those classes and again I was denied cause I was flagged. What change from the last time I trained? I'm quite sure my money was green like last time. At this point, I cannot recommend Guardian. read more

Hello, here is an honest opinion from someone who visited the facility for the very first time, as a first shooter that already had some knowledge from friends, research, reading and videos. We were greeted by a lovely older woman, who instructed us to the kiosks for the waiver and video watching, when we returned we were serviced by a 30/40# gentleman of medium build who seemed like he had an attitude and was rude, a few times during our visit. We rented one lane, with one experience shooter and two other inexperienced shooters, myself being one of them. The gentleman handling the rental equipment was very nice and was very informative. The range officer in our bay was also very polite, informative and knowledgeable. He made the entire experience fantastic, and easy. Your sales area was merchandised well, clean and neat as was the entire facility. Would not recommend this facility. I've been shooting my whole life, my girlfriend has not. This facility is out of our home state so we decided to rent. The staff were very condescending, and rude towards us. One gentleman followed us to the range, sat with the range officer, then followed us out. He corrected her form, told her what was wrong and what wasn't without her asking, he interrupted me multiple times to tell her the exact same thing I told her. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is new to shooting. The staff is incredibly rude towards new shooters, and overall condescending towards new people/ new shooters. I've been to multiple different training centers and shooting ranges throughout the East and west coast and have never experienced this. 1 specific staff member stuck out however everyone was like this. I was looking to purchase a firearm and no one helped me the entire time I was looking at the available firearms. I was practically completely ignored the entire time I wasn't in the range. Another bonus is the owner not being able to take criticism on yelp, all throughout the store they have signs saying they will give a discount if you make a 5 star review and say "fck yelp" it is incredibly unprofessional. Awesome place- they definitely deserve a 5 star review. I have come here a few times while using Groupon. I came in with a group of 5 people, some were new to shooting and needed some extra guidance as far as how to hold the weapon and how to steady their breathing, etc and the guy who was working in the shooting booth we were in was so helpful and gave them a step by step safety brief along with tips on how to shoot. I cant remember any of the staff's names but they all were really friendly and helpful when we had questions. We each had the chance to pick out our own targets, and the weapons we wanted to choose and we had about an hour to shoot. It was funny watching the people in my group jump every time the gun fired, since they weren't used to being around guns. They do however give you safety gear to make sure your ears are protected as well as eye pro to protect your eyes. I had an awesome time and miss going to the shooting range since being out the military. I would like to come back here again or more often and might take advantage of the fact that they have yearly memberships, which I think would be an awesome gift to myself. read more

Been going to Guardian for a little over a month. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and professional. The facility is clean and well run. I've gone to GTC several times, this past weekend being the most recent. The sign in process takes about 15min as you have to complete the required forms and sign. Once you've done this on your initial visit, the sign in process is fast the next time you visit. The staff here are knowledgeable and more than willing to assist especially if you're a newcomer. GTC's gun selection is pretty vast. There's something for everyone. The fees depend on what you need eg. Gun, amo, eye & ear wear, targets... I'd say bring about $200. I would also check Groupon. If you have your own gun and gear and just need amo and targets for two ppl it's about $100. GTC charges by the hour. Some ranges give a 2 hour time block which is good because an hour just doesn't do when you have to load your weapon/s get target setup.... The amo is a bit pricey. I'd suggest going to Walmart to buy the cheapest since it's just for target. The facility is clean and the layout is pretty standard. I will go back again and again. Enjoy! read more

Customer service could definitely improve, I was denied service because the clerk thought I didn't have enough "experience". When this is a training center, I thought I'd come there to be trained to shoot. Then proceeded to say they were short staffed and no one could take us in to instruct us.. we were the only ones there so I didn't see how. She was very rude, and didn't try to accommodate me or my party. Even though we drove an hour away. Wish I could of got her name, but she was the only female working... A rude bald staff with blue mustache who treated me and family badly as we were Asians according to his attitude. I wish I knew his name, so that I wouldn't have to describe how his appearance. We went 4 of us that had one minor. We first went to meet with a staff who took the copy of my nephew's birth certificate along with his dad's driver license. At first, the welcome staff was nicely presented by accepting all of the documents, and ask us to go to the front desk to complete the waiver form on the tablet and keep our firearm under the table on the cell. As far as we completed all the form, we came back to him to pay for the fees, but he told us to go to meet the other staff on the side, so we didn't hesitate to go to meet him at the corner right. When we met him, the rude bald with blue mustard, he immediately rejected our copy birth certificate by saying that this place doesn't accept the copy of certificate. My brother responded that he already called in advanced to see what documents were needed before arriving, and the staff on the phone told to take the copy of birth certificate. Also the first welcome staff was also accepted the certificate by allowing us going to complete the application on tablet as well. However, the rude bald staff kept saying no, rejected us without listening to our explanation. He was also playback the video recorder asking us of what we were doing back there on the tablet. My brother and I responded that we were completing the waiver form. He said that I violated the terms by helping my brother translating the waiver form. I said why there were no one instructed us from the first place? It's our first time here, and because my brother doesn't understand well in English, so I have to help him and translated what the form said. I didn't think I was wrong by just translating for him. If I was there signing for him, then YES I know I was wrong, but I didn't! I was just helping him translated and let him and his son signed all the paperwork, so what did I do wrong? How come a person sign documents that not knowing what it says about, and it's pretty long lists as well! The rude staff kept saying we were wrong, and he stated that "We are unsafe people, we already violated the terms, and we came here to use deadly weapon which could harm all of the staffs, so we have to leave" what do you mean unsafe people? Why did he state this words, what did we do wrong to him? We were just so mad and disgusted with him, but still we agreed to leave. So we came to pick up our items on the cell where we were told keep at the beginning. He then followed us and asked us to leave again by saying another harmful message "Don't make me raise my voice, you guys have to leave" we just responded that we have to pick up our stuffs on the cell first before we can leave. He then kept saying we have to leave! What in the world? What did we do to him? Why did he always find reasons to kick us out? I can't imagine how bad his attitude was. I understand that this place is nice and maybe for local residents; however, you can't treat customers with colors! We came here to enjoy ourselves to pay for it, not begging for free! Why did he do that? It's my first time there, first experience for the range. But this place is an absolute Nightmare for us. Too BAD to realize! Came here to do a course with Chris Kona. He was so knowledgeable and informative. Nice guy too. I don't see what all these complaints are about? I didn't witness any of these allegations & they look pretty fake. Everyone was really cool including the customers. But the range was well lit, clean, easy to use and really liked it a lot. Much nicer than many ranges I have grown accustomed to. When I go to a range I don't typically have the highest expectations for customer service, they've far superceded my expectations. I also like that it is a veteran owned and operated facility. I definitely feel we should be supporting businesses like this. I know we will certainly come back and very happy to support. read more

I wrote my first review for GTC back in 2018 when the range was still relatively new, and gave them 5/5. It's close to 3 1/2 years later and they're still 5/5. Consistency is key, and for a new business to survive that long and maintain quality is really impressive. Over 3 years I've had the opportunity to take close to 40 full length classes and worked with nearly every member of their staff and nearly all of the equipment in their facility. What I have to say is that it has always been safe for myself and the other students, and always a great experience. I see some negative (and odd looking) reviews here, so let me just say that I've brought family and friends of all experience levels, and from all personal backgrounds to Guardian, and they always felt welcome. It did not matter if they were experienced shooters who wanted a fast paced private lesson or younger family members who just wanted to come have fun at a holiday event. Come with a good attitude and follow instructions once you arrive and you will be all right. If you think it will be busy, sometimes it is, but that's par for the course for ranges, plus GTC has longer hours and allows reservations in advance. GTC offers this, plus a lot more that would not be able to do or find anywhere else. Thank you to GTC for keeping the ammunition stocked, continually upping your game and for the potentially life saving training. I went to Guardian early 2020 with no experience in firearms. First impression was a clean and well-stocked space. If never shot before you have to take a lesson or come with someone who knows how to shoot. I would advise taking at least a lesson or two from the experts so you learn correctly. Just because you know how to shoot doesn't mean you know how to teach! Over the first two years I bought my first gun from Guardian, signed up for a membership and took a bunch of lessons and a lot of practice on my own. As time went on I gravitated to the Tac Bay. It is a bit intimidating at first because you feel naturally uncertain about your abilities compared to others. But actually that is not the case. It's not you against anyone. You are there to learn and progress at your own pace. Everyone is super helpful, super encouraging, patient and there to make you feel comfortable and safe. This was a completely different experience compared to static bays. Here we learn shooting on the move, transitions, shooting in the dark, shooting steel (super fun) and many others. Take a look at the Events tab on their website to see all they have to offer. Upgrade for a slight increase in membership to gold level and all the COF's nights (normally $30 each) are free! Plus some other perks. One last thing about the Tac Bay. They now offer competition Thursdays with various stages as well as once a month Saturday USPSA certified events along with a classifier night. Another unique feature of Guardian is their shoot house. You go upstairs, with no real guns/ammo, where you can spend a Saturday with a course in Home Invasion, Active Shooter, using night vision equipment and other events. They also have a simulation system where you get to try your skills against various on-screen drills like hostage engagement, bank robberies, etc.... Lastly, they do have a full retail outlet for all things firearms and often sell ammo at ridiculously low prices compared to anywhere else. I don't have any negatives to report. If you are a first timer I highly recommend giving Guardian a try. You won't find within hundreds of miles an indoor range so fully equipped. The staff are excellent!! Very helpful, never pushing to sell you something and very concerned with everyone's safety. For those of you coming with an attitude... stay away. They won't put up with you for one second. You should not let people in past 9 or latest 9:15, Your registration is long , by time we got to shot had 5 minutes, my partner never shot , we were charged for both. I only shot 3 bullets and we were escorted out. David T. at register was not friendly when we asked not to be charged for her , he insisted that we pay. David, you should have not let us register to shot if we only had 5 minutes to shot but paid for a whole hour. You have to have a policy to help people not rob them, very unfair. After writing this review the owner has been personally reaching out to me and messaging me and harassing me. This is the best indoor range, in my experience, when I compare it to other indoor ranges in CA, NC, FL, NY, and PA. After 5 visits, based on what I keenly observed -- the staff and the range officers are impeccable, well-qualified, helpful, vigilant, observant, skilled and proudly doing their job. The job of a range officer is not an easy one, it requires many skills, certifications, and qualifications. My observation is that the staff here is very professional, it meets and exceeds even the highest of my expectations. Kudos to them. read more

Rude owner & arrogant staff I recently signed up for a membership and asked the man who helped me for a copy. He indicated one would be emailed. A week had passed and I still had not received a copy, which legally they are obligated to give one, so I emailed them and spoke with Chris. Maybe the people who are unsafe, uncaring about others should avoid this place because they will correct you and make sure everyone is safe and having a good time. Arrived with my friends to use the range services. The store was clean, quiet, open, and had some beautiful firearms on the walls. The young man at the counter was friendly and gave us the paperwork. We returned our paperwork and a female worker, also friendly, began to assist. We loaded our weapons in our lanes and I fired 2 mags out of my Glock 19 clone that I built myself. My friend then handed me a rifle to try, and when I pointed it down range, I was tapped on the shoulder. I put the rifle down. An employee I hadn't seen was behind me and aggressively claimed that my firearm was illegal, "because it has no serial number," I was "not allowed to have it," and I needed to get it off the premises immediately. I was treated as a threat and liability to them, and that employee really scared me shitless. I am familiar with my state's laws; My firearm is perfectly legal, and I legally own it. There was NOTHING on any of the forms that I filled out suggesting that I wouldn't be able to have said firearm this range. On my way out, I asked if I was allowed to come back in and fire my Heritage .22LR revolver, and the employees told me that was alright. Great. I come back inside and they ask to inspect my revolver before I go back in. I handed my case to the woman at the counter who was seemingly unfamiliar with the SAA styled pistol. I was questioned about when I had bought it and how old it was- both irrelevant questions. She then asked me if it was antique and told me that "antique firearms" could not be fired there. There is nothing antique about it. These were first released in '92, and mine is at most a few years old. After fiddling with it and having me explain how it functions, she then told me that the armorer would have to look at it before I could go in. I agreed because it is in perfectly functional form. The armorer came out, held it, and asked me if I use it for self-defense. Another irrelevant question. I confusedly answered, no, as it is a rat-blaster at best. The armorer then told me I would not be able to shoot it there, and then went back to wherever he came from. There were much more threatening and complex firearms being fired there, but apparently my little peashooter was a no-go. I then walked back out to the car, again, and locked it up. I came back in and fired a few shots from the rifle my friend rented and a mag from another friend's pistol. We thanked the staff, said goodnight, and then left. At first I felt that you all had made me look like a criminal and an idiot in front of my friends. But no. You made yourselves--people in the PA firearms business--seem ignorant, and unwelcoming. I recommend you learn your own state's legislature, update your forms, and quit charging customers for 4 pairs of eye protection instead of 2. None of us will be returning, which is a shame, because it is truly a nice store on the inside. It was clean, organized, and there were some real neat rifles on the wall that I wish I could have fired. Note: I didn't see them, but someone I went with said there are signs in the shop saying to disregard Yelp. I wonder why. (Now confirmed- by owner himself) I did some googling, and I am not the only one to have had this same problem at this establishment. Edit 1: Owner thinks it's better to ask something that's not his business than to address anything I've said. My firearm is legal, and I legally own it. Every time you insinuate that I have broken a law, you make yourself look dumber. Do some research instead of doubling down on your bullshit. Such a great variety of shooting range vestibules coupled with state-of-the-art target acquisition capabilities that help you simulate various training scenarios which will improve your skills dramatically and are so much fun to program and use for any skill level. Lastly, the Guardian instructors are simply the best out there. They have such deep experience, are so friendly, patient and really take the time to ensure you get the best out of the training classes from beginner to Grand Master. Chris, Jim, Taylor are wonderful and the Thursday night competitive shooting is an outstanding way to test and improve all of your firearm skills. I haven't shot my gun for a year and half had a shoulder replacement Saturday was the first time I used it I was holding my thumb down but I didn't hold it down far enough the gun caught the end of my thumb and it went off I tried explaining it to your employee and he just didn't want to hear it I asked him to explain what I did wrong he just said I had to leave he could have explained what i did wrong so it would not happen again no he was just wanting me to leave so now I still don't know what I did wrong and how to prevent it from happening again I'm just guessing that it was not holding my thumb far enough down thanks for helping me NOT that's not true I fired it and it caught my thumb that all happened at the same time No Neglegent discharge read more

I've been to just about every range in the area. Found this place a little over a year ago and would not go anywhere else. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and unlike some other places, they take their patrons' education and safety seriously. I am outraged at how my family was treated today at the Guardian Training Center. I am faithful member who is loyal and frequently attend this establishment. I have brought much business to this establishment. Most of the staff is kind and helpful. Doug the manager is an exemplary employee who bends over backwards to help. Today, my wife brought my 20 year old daughter to take her first class on firearms today. While waiting in line a patron was asking a group of people about a gun range on 611 that he had heard about across from the local air base. My wife was familiar and gave the patron the name of the gun range. Subsequently, a staff member accosted my wife and daughter asking if she had mentioned a competitors name in his parking lot. He marched my wife and daughter into the store and accosted my wife about mentioning a competitor in front of a crowd of people. He showed her a picture of me and asked if I put food on the table. In an aggressive posture he proceeded to yell at her because she was taking food from his table by mentioning a competitor in his parking lot. He was armed and very irate. He scared my wife and my daughter with threatening body language and yelling. He refused to let my daughter have a lesson and threatened our membership. At first I thought it was a terrible employee. Now I understand he is the principle of this business. Scaring people is easy to do these days given the violence of recent past putting everyone on edge. The last place it should happen is a place where people are trying to gain confidence about protecting themselves. This man is a terrible representation of this establishment and comes no where near the caliber of his manager Doug. He has no right to silence anyone about anything. The range master Ray was by far my favorite part of the experience. Funny and knowledgeable of what needed to be done to make it fun and a safe experience. It's the largest indoor range I've been too and it was by far the cleanest and safest. I shot on a Saturday so I expected a line. Wasn't a bad wait. Besides the owner making a threat to dox a customer to the ATF, I want to share the following: My name is Charlene, and I am stuck in the shooting range and cannot dilate as there is nowhere for me to do so. I also do not have my dilator, since I thought I would be able to make it home for my night time session. I was reduced to going to a breast feeding room in the shooting range lobby with a banana I had purchased at the Chuck's convenience store down the street. I had to at least attempt my dilation session with whatever was on hand. Upon the first 10 minutes of the session, I got blood on the floor (which I intended to clean up!). 10 minutes later a fellow female who was nursing came in, and went berserk on me, saying I'm disgusting and that the whole room smelled of feces. I ran out scared and am crying in the woman's bathroom. I am beyond upset, angry, and humiliated. Had a great experience with GTC. Coming from NYC, PA is the land of freedom. Amazed at the modern, organized, clean, and professionally staffed and managed facility. With excellent selection of pistols and rifles. Got to try the pistols I wanted in order to make a purchase decision. Ben was super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. And Blue was a blast. I was a new customer at Guardian Training Center. I've been there three times with my fellow national guardsmen, but this was my first time coming by myself. I had just recently purchased a new shotgun and wanted to test it out. I didn't have a case, so I kept it in the new box that I purchased the shotgun in. I also had another rifle that I had a case for and also bought with me. When enter the range, I was stopped by a representative and notified that the box was not acceptable. He then proceeded to give me something to properly place it in and checked to see if loaded. At the register, another representative told me I had to leave and they stated that it was a serious offense the shotgun sticking out of box. I then explained that I was pretty new there and apologized about that. The representative insisted that I just leave and casually rubbed his hand across his gun holster on right side as i talked to him. It was awkward. I left as was told with no problem and went to my car in the parking lot, where I begin talking to a few friend's on phone about the range. From there, they called the cops on me. There was nothing I did that was irrational as the owner insinuated on the previous comment. As shown on the camera, nobody escorted me out. Me flagging someone was false, shotgun was in the box and green bag wrapped around front. The reply made by owner on previous comment to my rating on google was very unprofessional. How the workers handle the situation, I felt was unappropriate, so I rated this business a one. I will make sure to let my fellow guardsmen and friends know not to support here again. I've been to this range a few times and every time it's a bad experience. They have really great facility with state of the art equipment but the employees are always in your business to the point that you're not enjoying your range day anymore. They have so many rules that I've never heard of from other ranges. I know gun safety and I've been shooting for a long time so I don't want to be treated like a kid by some teenager telling me what to do. You're always doing something wrong when you're at this range. It's amazing how arrogant these people are. What really annoys me is that I've had all my mags loaded with Amos and the guy at the front took all the ammos out and didn't even put them back. This takes away time from my range time. It's like being in North Korea at this range. Every move you make they are behind you watching you to make a mistake so they can correct you and ruin your range day and they enjoy doing this, being a total authoritarian . I don't recommend this range to anyone.. Reply to owner: I just proven my point! You're a total bully! Who said I got banned? I never broken any safety rules at any range, your staff are just rude and unprofessional people. The only reason I came back here is because you're open late at night and all the other ranges are closed. Not my first choice though. Racist, unprofessional staff should have read the reviews first. Person asked me if I had shot an AR before I told him once and was having issues with it at the range and was told to go back to counter. While explaining it to the person on counter he arrogantly and rudely cut me off and started accusing me of playing word games while continuously harassing me. Great facility, not all the employees sucked but the two who were inside the range...if you're not the most experienced shooter beware! Doesn't matter how safe you are trying to be, they'll find some way to criticize you over your back and throw subliminal shots at you the whole time...making you even more uncomfortable than you already are!!! Based off the way I was treated I would never pay for a training class with these dicks, hopefully all the other employees weren't like bevis and butthead were the night of 8/20/21 9pm. While you're at it let's also get the audio of your employees hurling subliminal bombs at me the whole time I'm attempting better my aim and get more comfortable firing my firearm... because when you suck at shooting, you go to the range to get better..or at least I thought it worked like that My gun(fns9)also started jamming really bad( still kept it aimed towards my target as I fixed it), instead of saying "hey your gun needs to be cleaned or lubed" or whatever they're like "wtf is he doing" I bought a fm9 last week at the oaks gun show and I didn't have any sights on it. I brought it out to shoot and shot a few shots before another employee(not beevis or butthead) stopped me and kindly told me I was in violation which I understand now & also was unaware I could rent sights for $15 which he informed me as well... I honestly just wanted to see how it feels shooting it compared to my fns9 & I appreciate that man not yelling or hurling insults for everyone to hear. If there was a fault I had to own up to, it would be this. Now back to B&B...Instead of giving a little constructive criticism you guys are(probably taught by the owner) insulting me for honestly just being a bad shooter. My son was home on leave from the army, so we decided to check it out. He, and I have been shooting our entire lives, we know safety very well. First, after waiting over two hours for a lane, they told us none of our ammo could be used, because it was magnetized, so we HAD to buy theirs. Upon arriving at the lane, you may as well forget any previous experience you have, because they are the experts!!!! Big selection in the pro shop, and the folks working in the pro shop have customer service skills, but, that's where it ends! There are lots of big egos in the 2A world, but none as big as there! Really nice, brand new facility. Insane selection of guns, knives, ammo, and accessories. Can't comment on prices since my group brought our own. You can purchase a variety of targets, and they have a full tactical training center upstairs, then multiple rooms with numerous lanes downstairs. Lanes have touch screen pads that let you automatically adjust the distance of the target. Everything is high tech, the facility is extremely clean and well maintained, and the staff were great. There are staff members supervising each room (we had Al in ours and he was awesome). Definitely recommend this place. read more
