Lori and her team are the best in the business. Teach your kids how and this crew will ensure you learn properly and safely. One of the best things is being outdoors when trying to teach your wife and kids how to shoot. Indoor ranges cannot match this experience. Pistols separate from long guns is the only way to keep kids from being intimidated by large caliber rounds while they are trying to learn pistols. Great outdoor space to shoot. Not sure why people are angry at the RSOs for making sure you're safe. If you exhibit competent and safe manipulation with your firearm, no one bothers you. Yes, you can't rapid fire, but that's not a great reason to write off this place. There's no time limit for how long you can shoot, you can order food/drinks, and enjoy outdoor shooting. Never had any issues with the RSOs. Just occasional reminders of my happy trigger finger since they don't allow rapid fire, but they've never been rude. Just make sure you bring your own gun and ammo as they don't rent/sell. They do sell clay birds for you to shoot though. Go check it out for yourself. read more

Worst experience in 30 years I've been handling weapons and doing Farms instruction for my whole career and happen to take a couple of new shooters there. The range officers are obnoxiously rude unfriendly and are outdated beyond belief. Let me start of by saying my family and friends have been going to this range for over 10 years. Ever since they hired this short, angry man who works behind the front desk when you first enter refused to give me his name, has had an attitude with my friends and family. English not being our first language, he has been disrespectful to us as soon as he heard us speaking another language to ourselves. (Discussing what we want to purchase) He then attempts to charge us more than the regular amount until another associate confronts him. When we came back today, and he noticed us again, once again his Napoleon complex went into full effect being disrespectful towards us and when I told him he was being a "dick" his ego crumbled. He got in my face, screaming with a gun on his hip. Very professional. Sadly the owner was there and after letting him know about everything he sided with his employee after he was being prejudice towards us and robbing the store. He had the decency to refund our family membership. There are some good people there, sadly they have a toxic employee that is not only going to drive people away, but now have him deal with legal action. read more

If you are looking for a Range to shoot at, do yourself a favor and consider another Range. My family and I have been members since 2013 and attended this range periodically. The black male behind the counter, located at the Range Office, is extremely rude and obnoxious. He speaks to people as if they were idiots and will not take the time to explain things to you in the proper manner. From the moment you enter the Office, you feel the negativity radiating from his negative demeanor. I brought this to the attention of the Range manager who did nothing to rectify or correct his employee. While on the range it was brought to my attention that the range manager and the black male behind the counter were speaking loudly on the front porch, making fun of my concerns in earshot of my family members. Extremely unprofessional. Because they hold a State License, I will be filing a complaint with the state License Board. Toxic environment. It appears if you are other than white, you are not welcome at this range. read more

I took the beginner level shot gun safety course. It was great. I was a little nervous/intimidated when I signed up, but Justin was very welcoming and made me feel completely comfortable taking the course. His instruction was very thorough and informative. We spent the last couple hours of the course on the range, and it was so much fun! I am looking into getting a membership at Wicen after having taken the course. This is the only open-to-the-public outdoor range I know of in the Montgomery/Lower Bucks area. They offer rifle, pistol and shotgun areas and I go here a few times a year. When the weather is nice, you can't compare shooting outside on a farm to shooting indoors on a lane. I used to go to this place with my dad and uncle when I was a kid and it was owned and run by two old brothers, Frank and Stephen. They've since passed away and the range is still in the family, but is more of a business with a number of range officers and more structure. They've poured concrete bunker-like booths, which make the experience safer. Louder for the shooters, but quieter for the neighbors, which is as it should be. You have to purchase a range badge one time for each area (rifle, pistol, shotgun) at $7 each and then admission to the range is $15/day. It can get pricey the first time or two you go, but after that it's a really good deal in comparison to indoor ranges where you pay by the hour. The range officers are friendly and helpful if you're a newbie or need help sighting in. They're strict about range rules (overall a good thing as it's safer for shooters and neighbors) but it is a little limiting if you have a semi-auto pistol to only be allowed one round every three seconds.They probably need to have this rule to keep some jackass from emptying half of his clip over the backstop. I just wish the rules allowed for quick groups of three shots or something. If you're going here for shotgun, don't bother bringing clays. They're cheaper here than other places (Dick's, etc) and you don't have to haul the heavy fragile box with you. They rent single/double and manual/electric throwers. Cash only, so don't get caught unprepared. That part is kind of annoying since it's so easy to accept cards in this day and age. Look on their website and make sure they're open when you go. I think Frank and Stephen used to keep it open every day but Christmas or something like that. Now I think they're closed Monday and most holidays, which is a shame if you get some time off and want to go shooting, but everybody deserves some time off, right? read more

This is the only outdoor public range near Bucks County. They have 100yd rifle range, 25yd pistol range and a trap range. Overall, it's a decent place. I have been here twice. The range fee is reasonable, $20 for the day. They have a qualifications fee of $10/range. So if you go expecting to shoot on two ranges, you will spend another $20 in qualification fees. The qualification fees are for life (unless you lose your range badge). The lanes have concrete bunkers covering the benches on the rifle and pistol lanes. In the rifle lanes, you can't stand, you have a shoot sitting at the bench. They have a slow fire rule, so be sure to take your time, if you don't want to have the RSOs chirping at you. The RSOs that I have met there are friendly enough. They are pretty helpful in making your shooting experience enjoyable as possible. The RSOs were quick to correct us if we were doing something outside of the range rules. They did so in a friendly, non-condescending manner. The have targets, but it's best to bring your own. They have plenty of staple guns to tack up your targets. You can buy targets there too, but I always prefer to bring my own. You can also buy clays and put those in the berm on the pistol and rifle ranges. I'll keep coming here as long as the range fee doesn't start to creep past $20/day. read more

I enjoyed my experience here, as someone who is cautiously, and safely, making an effort to learn and become comfortable with a firearm for self defense purposes. I thought that the safety standards here were on point. And I appreciated their zero tolerance for unsafe practices. Example- The guy who kept taking off his PPE and was not following directions regarding safety, got booted. As a woman, who attended this range with her husband and teenage daughters, I felt that it was actually inviting. Far less intimidating than I had imagined. It is $10 to get yourself qualified, meaning, someone who knows exactly what they are doing, makes sure that YOU know what you are doing, and fully understand the rules there. It is $20 per day, per person. Per day. Meaning you could leave for lunch and come back. They sell targets, but no ammo. Tanners recommended that we "give it a shot". ;) We will be back. My only complaint is that they are not open on Monday or Tuesday. Dress appropriately for weather. read more

Don't waste your time. Extremely inefficient registration system so make sure you have 2hrs to waste waiting in line while many lanes are available. Ranger officers are entitled want to be police officers who talk down to experienced customers. Spend five minutes looking for a range that appreciates and respects your business. read more

My new favorite place to shoot. You pay *$20.00 for the day and can shoot on a 100 yard rifle range, 50+ yard trap shooting range or a 25 yard pistol range. You can also have the satisfaction of shooting at something that actually breaks like the "clay birds" (bright orange discs), this way you don't have to try to figure out if the tiny whole that just appeared on the paper was made by this bullet or the one 5 shots before. It adds a bit of 'action' to the whole thing that you don't get at an indoor range. For new shooters, please don't let the reviews that give them less stars because they are sticklers for safety scare you off. Shooting ranges and being very safe and on the ball should be something that gets a higher rating (safety at the range is a pro not a con, lol). They are not mean or unfriendly in the slightest, they seem to have developed a system over the years that really works. Outdoor shooting has some different logistics then indoor ranges, that's why there are very few places that do it (plus land is expensive). You have to walk onto the range to change your target(s), this idea was disconcerting to me at first but the way the handle it when they make the range "cold "is literally with military precision. You will feel very comfortable that nobody, yourself included, can go into their shooting stall while you are down range changing your target and setting up your target stand or whatever you're shooting at on the berm i.e. clay discs. There is also something extremely unique and quite pleasant at this range, fresh air(!) it makes me want to hang out much longer, you can also get pizza delivered. So go to Walmart or wherever and stock up on cheap ammo (because they don't sell it) and spend an hour or the day, they also don't rent guns (go buy one ;-) if you live PA (or pretty much any constitution respecting in state, sorry NJ) and have your civil rights intact (not a felon or someone found mentally unstable through due process, or a couple of other disqualifies) it is an easy, fun and uniquely American thing to do. *There is a one time (unless you loose your official looking "range badge")$10.00 fee for an NRA approved/trained safety officer to sign you off for the range you wish to shoot on. This could be up to $30.00 because of the 3 ranges, it's not a big deal they just want to make sure you follow the very basic safety protocol. They don't 'hover' they are just there, very non intrusive. read more

I was a bit apprehensive when I was heading here for the first time. Asian kid, with an AR and a 30-06. Not sure how I would be welcomed, but they were great. One guy, I can't remember his name, but he was an older guy, helped me dope in my scope at 100yds and hooked me up with some clays to shoot on the burm. Couldn't be any nicer. Can't wait to go back there. Only a 4 because the shooting benches are kind of dated, not really comfortable for me. read more

First time to wicens on Father's Day with my buddy! I have to say the people who run this place were really friendly and professional. They emphasize safety, so if you understand firearm safety and show it, you'll have a great time. If your an idiot who wants to hold your pistol sideways or hold your AR at your hip, well then you'll have a bad day there because they'll give you hell. Rightfully so. We were joking with the staff , shooting safely , even ordered a pizza and had it delivered right to our shooting lane. A+ to the guys at wicens. Staff here is excellent! They are friendly, but professional and are there to ensure you have a safe and fun experience. It's one of the few ranges that doesn't try to "milk" their costumers for every dollar. $20 will get you to play outdoors with 100-yards rifle range, 25-yards pistol and trap shooting range. If you are looking to rent a firearm and buy ammo, sorry to disappoint but you're going to need to bring that with you. They do sale targets, eye protection, ear protection, and clay pigeons. Went there for the first time today, mightily impressed with the RSOs and emphasis on safety. My first open-air range experience with pistol, after being locked away in dark cellars. My first time going down range to change my targets after a cease fire, and their attention to safety made me feel perfectly at ease doing so. Far from being condescending, the RSOs were polite and instructive. Not as many pistol booths as rifle, but noon on a Saturday I did not have to wait for a free booth at all. Was very excited to go to this range as it was the closest outdoor range in our county and for Father's day, it was half off price. We got there and met a nice gentlemen named Joe who was the RSO (Range Safety Officer). He welcomed us and guide us to meet another older gentlemen named Joe as well. It was the worst customer service we ever received. He was very rude, full of sarcasm and told us it cost $42 per person. It does not state on their website and he handed me their brochure which does not state that either. I ask them about their website, but he said he does not know anything about it. How does a person work there and don't know anything about your own website? We were treated like 2 year olds and as if we can't read. I'm a veteran of 12 years in the US Army and he even gave me hard time with my ID card. I never paid at any gun range more than $20 per person. This guy wanted to charge both of us at a normal price of $84 but since its Father's Day special and my military, it came to $64. Still that is ridiculous! We immediately left and knew this guy was discriminating us from the way he treated. Money was not the biggest issue in this scenario, but that is no way to treat any customers. I would not recommend anyone going to this range. read more

Worst experience ever- DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME WAITING FOR NO REASON. No one explains why you are waiting. Shot gun range is empty but they don't let you get ahead of the rifle line. We stood in line for 1 hour while the other members of the group that came before us waited for us for no reason. Who ever came up with this system is an idiot and will lose at least 5 customers from my group.... and from all the people who we will deter from this place. If you want to go to Wild West then just don't go here I actually took my kids here and felt safe. I had the best father son day anyone could ask for. The staff was super friendly, helpful and catered to my kid. One range officer even let my son shoot his 22 handgun. You can't ask for a better place to take the family shooting read more

Went to Wicen's range for the first time yesterday with my two sons. We completely enjoyed the experience. From the sign-in at the desk, to instructions from the RSO's on the rifle and pistol ranges, the staff there treated us in a friendly and respectful manner. They are definitely serious about safety, but that actually makes shooting there better; so we didn't mind that at all. The RSO's are very clear about the instructions and will go over those in detail at the beginning, but they also offer helpful tips and suggestions while you are shooting; not in an annoying way, but in a way that is very helpful. Even though it is a 100 yard range, you can set targets at 25 yard increments out to 100 yards; so that helps with sighting in, or practicing with, a range of firearms. It was a great day of shooting - - very different and better than an indoor range experience - - and we will definitely be going back! read more
