My aunt husband past away in this was the funeral parlor that handle his Going away Festivals this past weekend held the same day of Pope Francis in (Rome-Vatican city), There where very pleasant in welcoming , Although there where fulled with booked reservations in the Funeral parlor , we had to lead the Funerals in Churches (In Flatbush Section of Brooklyn) it was OK with us if not then we would had wait until May 2025 to buried the love one for rental space at funeral parlor , The limo came to the houses on time in functional manner, all dough we was running behind schedule because some people was running late in the church , in the Service was packed because my aunt husband was very popular ,They gave the family and friends the last viewing at end of the church services . This funeral home is the best one in town. At least within the borough of Brooklyn. My family utilized this funeral home twice. It's a family business so each staff member is related to one another. Everyone my brother and I interacted with was professional. They are also very knowledgeable since they've been around for decades. The chapels are huge and can hold hundreds of people. The funeral home is clean especially the restrooms located downstairs. The funeral director assists you step by step during the planning process. Funerals are far from cheap but this establishment is well worth it. They even provide you with resources for services that they don't provide such as printing programs and florists. It's a beautiful building the staff very respectful and nice but. They need mire cultural sensitivity and learn different presentations meaning. We had service there for my female loved one. We are caribbean folks they are not. They made her up looking like someone else. Her hair was natural and looked liked They did not try or either they just don't know how to do black hair. Make up was 10 shades lighter than her it was not what was somewhat expected. They need to get people that knows about grooming other cultures. I really was not so pleased. They were great from what I saw. I've not used them personally, I've attended funerals there twice. The last instance it was a close family member. Person making the arrangements said Guarino Funeral Home was the best they'd ever worked with. Efficient, respectful, professional, helpful and kind during the meeting to make arrangements. As a mourner, Guarino's facility is an attractive and clean space. I've been to other funeral homes that were unpleasant to be in. Which considering the purpose of the facility is quite disrespectful. Guarino's Funeral Home is the exact opposite - they are conscious of the importance of their facility and it shows. read more

I had the unfortunate responsibility to lay my brother to rest. The most important thing to my family and I was to have the transition go as smooth as possible, and respectfully. This unfortunately did not happen. Having worked in the funeral industry for many years I was tasked with the handling of certain things. Out of respect for my sister in law and nieces and nephew, they chose the locations. Now that you have back story here is why I've rated them poorly. The one positive thing I can say is that the location is well kept and nice (appearance). But the service doesn't match. To avoid confusion and to keep things simple we had them handle the wake, transportation, and the Priest. Everything else we handled ourselves. We also paid everything in full the day of the meeting so therefore we wouldn't be handling money the day of the funeral. 1) During the wake we had a service next to ours where it was so loud that even with a speaker system of our own we couldn't hear people's final words. It was like a concert hall. 2) Last minute hidden fees were charged which weren't allowed to be charged to a card I had to leave and go to the bank to get cash to pay it. And even after that I had to pay again because they forgot to tell me another unmentioned expense. Mind you I double and triple checked and asked "is there anything else". 3) They had an attitude when questioned about the hidden fees. 4) The transportation didn't even complete the route where my sister in law and Nieces and nephew had to drive themselves. 5) The Priest came late, went completely off program (even though provided a copy), shared personal stories about poverty and gang related events where my brother nor our family is poor and have zero gang affiliation. We are educated professionals and well off. Then when we take control to get the program back on track the Priest has to share his unwarranted opinion about being cutoff (after Ignoring all the gestures telling him to stop and to go by the program). Absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful. The worse I have ever seen. If you are looking into a funeral home to respectfully lay your love one to rest. I strongly recommend to look elsewhere. In my years in the industry and personal experience this one is subpar to its competitors. I am sorry for your loss and I pray this helps you and your family make the best decision for your love one. Professional service, awesome staff and very spacious! Their parking lot is small so it can fill up quickly if multiple services are occurring. Gaurino assistance during a difficult time in your life is amazing! Upstairs they have a wheel chair accessible restroom and downstairs there are additional restrooms. I had to allow time to pass for me to write this review. I dealt with them in March of 2015 regarding the passing and handling of my dad. They were professional, helpful, kind, patient and just overall just so professional and easy to deal with. i would recommend them to anyone that asks. They made my dad look so much like himself. It didn't dawn on me that he was even gone, because he just looked like he was sleeping. Ooh getting emotional. The rooms also were very very large. The only downfall is I wanted to play a dvd that i created for my dad using iMovie. I played it at home on a Samsung dvd player but it wasn't able to play on their Sony. But since it is 2015, I was able to post it to Facebook and email it to my family and friends. read more

I cant speak more highly of the funeral home. The staff was very accommodating to myself and my family during this horrid time. If I had to pinpoint a standout it would be Anthony Lynch. Though I believe he is not part of the funeral home he's affiliated in some way. Anthony had taken over after our initial meetings with Guarinos. I felt like he was there at every step for myself and family and ket in constant communication. He handled the programs and slideshow and they came out perfectly. He offered advice when needed and provided and ear to talk to. Its no wonder why they go hand and hand. Guarino and Anthony coordinated everything down to the delivery and set up so all my family had to do was be presented. The actual funeral home was very well kept, had ample parking (they had valet parking) and is beautiful inside. The person who did my fathers makeup also did a great job on having him look like him (big fear of mine). Overall, if looking for funeral home in Brooklyn I highly recommend Guarinos Funeral Home and Anthony Lynch's services. It's one of the few places that actually care about you and you won't have to run everywhere to het something done. They seem to have everything ready in house or have someone to get things done, alleviating any more stress during times like this. read more

In our time of need, Steven and his team showed up and walked us through the most difficult time. They were thoughtful, genuinely concerned and respectful. Steven made suggestions, offered options and helped us stay on task and focused - gently. At no time did we feel like they were trying to milk every dime out of us. We were able to customize our service and was given access to their Bluetooth Andre screens for a video. If you require help with your obituary do not hesitate to ask to speak with Anthony Lynch. He took such good care of us, through tears, confusion and frustration. When we picked up the obituaries Anthony had inserted a condolence card!! Beautiful people!!
