It's often hard for me to figure out how to give out stars so when that happens I try to rate a place against its peers. In this case, since I don't know of any other hole in the wall Guatemalan restaurants I gotta compare to Mexican in the area, and on that basis this place really shines. It really is tiny and currently they have only 3 tables for two each. I came for lunch and ordered the carne asada. Yellow rice was very good, the thin cut steak was seasoned a little light for me, and I am not a big salt fan. The mole sauce however was fantastic, I drenched everything with it. The homemade tortillas were really good, with some nice char on the outside. They provided a side of their homemade hot sauce which added great flavor too. I didn't bother with the side of jalapeños. They asked me if a wanted a side salad, and I said yes. Nothing to write home about, it had ranch dressing on the side but the lettuce was fresh. They didn't even charge me for the salad! Very cool. I've been meaning to try this place for a while and finally did tonight. It is probably the best food for the most reasonable price I've had in Phoenixville. I'm upset I didn't try it sooner. The portion sizes and prices are extremely generous and the food was awesome. I had chicken tacos and plantains. My boyfriend had steak tacos and and steak enchiladas. Everything was really good. This tiny hole-in-the-wall place is a foodie's jackpot. The food is as authentic as the ambiance of a genuine Mom and Pop establishment​. Great food! Really authentic and clear difference from Mexican food which some might think it is. Excellent food.

It seemed like they just moved to this location, shared with a pizza place. We went in and were not sure if you just sit down or order at the counter. We sat at a table and a server came over in a minute or two and made sure we weren't there for pizza. Everyone was friendly and we got our drinks quickly. We ordered tacos and papusas to share. Carne Asada tacos were delicious, fish ones were decent. The papusas were great! They are hard to find in this area, so I was so happy to find good ones. The horchata was a little sweeter than I'm used to, but still very delicious. I'm looking to the next time I'm in town to pick up some more papusas and try something new from the menu. read more

This is a great place. Everything is made fresh and is delicious. It's mainly take out (only one small table), and because it is made to order, it will take about 20 minutes or longer to prepare depending on how busy they are, so plan ahead. I stopped in after another event in town for a quick dinner. For a skirt (? I believe) steak, rice and beans it was about $13 or so. The food was tasty for a hole in the wall. This feels like homemade food, not a hipster joint that's "interior-decored" to be a bare-bones ethnic kitchen. There's a single table inside where all patrons are able to sit and enjoy the Spanish TV shows. Some language barrier to order, but just point to what you want and ask clarifying questions and you'll be OK. This place is good for 1 or 2 people groups, take out, but not for large groups. Went with everyone's suggestion of just going there and picking something I've never tried before. Ordered the Parrilladas (steak, sausage & chicken). It was great. Agree with others that the sides are just delicious. The rice was just as good the next day heated up. I don't really like beans but opted for black beans and it was more of a black bean paste which was the best beans I've ever tasted. The chicken was probably my favorite of the three and just a warning the chorizo/sausage is spicy (yum). Definitely coming back again. read more

We've eaten here three times in the last two months. The Pupusa, Gordita and Tamales are delicious. The Parillada platter is almost big enough for two people. The meat is flavorful , even the Mac and cheese that comes with it is yummy, portions are generous. The sauces are amazing -very different from any pher Latin style sauces. read more

Went here for dinner while stopping at multiple places in Phoenixville for snacks / drinks. Out of all the restaurants in town, this humble restaurant had the most amazing smells. We had the Sopes, pupusas, and few other entrees. All were delicious! Generous portions, terrific looking food, home made mole sauce. The tacos though! I am not from the area and only come out the Phoenixville area a few times a year to see movies at the colonial. Looking for something convenient to eat that didn't come from the golden arches. I stumbled upon this beauty on yelp. This is a tiny place on the corner of the downtown strip. They had about 3 tiny tables in the front if you wanted to eat there but it was pretty cramped (thats part of the experience). I ordered the pork tacos and my boyfriend got the chicken. I really wanted some rice but they don't sell it as a side. We ate our tacos on a bench close by and were in awe. It was like a little slice of heaven with each bite. They were loaded with meat and full of flavorful goodness. I seriously, if not for the movie starting soon, would have gone back for more. I think about these tacos often as the days have now passed. My boyfriend, I kid you not, kept smelling his hands after we got home so he could relive the memory of his tacos..what a weirdo.... If you live close by and haven't tried this place. GO NOW! I only had the tacos, but thats all I needed to know this place is legit. Best tacos in the area. I never got the corn tortilla. They are always dry and brittle. Not here, freshly made and moist. Four stars if you're cool with a place that's a hole in the wall, with just a couple of tables, the kitchen open, etc. I suspect most of you would treat this as a takeout place, so the small confines don't matter to you. On the one hand, the limited menu means some of the things I wanted to see just weren't there (they'll get that fifth star if they add chicharonne). The plus side to this is the small kitchen can concentrate on doing what they do like bandits. Tasty food. Meats seasoned well. The beans and rice delicious and frankly some of the best tortillas I've ever had. I don't know if they're hand-made or not, but one of the reviews suggested they are. Doesn't matter to me. I've been here twice for lunch with a co-worker. They have this soup thing. I didn't have it, but my co-worker talks about the broth even a week after our last visit it was that good. read more

Me and my family just went here for lunch. Hands down, some of the best food we've ever had! Simple, fresh, authentic. Everything was cooked to order, literally. They made their own tortillas! The chips were hot and the guacamole was delicious. I had tostados - bean, salsa and guacamole. If I wasn't so full, I would have eaten three more! Hubby had the tongue tacos and said the meat was so tender and delish. The kids shared enchiladas and had the guacamole tostado. I had to get a sampling of tacos to try them so I got the pork, chicken and steak. The filled them with meat and topped them simply with cilantro and onion.
