Been eating here for years and always had a great experience. Authentic or not I think the food is fantastic. One of the best gauc dips I'd ever tried. I would give 5 stars but they do not sell alcohol BYOB only. Waitress was nice but she was very abrupt and short with us almost like she was in a rush but we were the only ones in the restaurant. The chimichanga platter is my fave :)

The food was delicious. There were two large parties so we did sit at the table for some time before being seen by a server. The server was super friendly and apologetic. The food was worth the wait. They are also hiring so it could just be a staffing issue at this time.

Decent Mexican / Tex-Mex restaurant in Collegeville. Food is generally pretty decent, though their refried beans are excellent. Ordered a couple times during covid, and packaging was sufficient. Sturdy containers and the food was warm. They offer both delivery via 3rd party apps, as well as takeout and curbside. For dinner, we ordered fish tacos and the chipotle chicken special. The fish tacos were fresh and decent, and the sides were quite good. They will customize each order as desired, so that's a plus, since in this case, the cilantro on the tacos wasn't desired. No problem. The chipotle chicken was amazing! Basically, rice and beans, with a pounded, grilled chicken breast on top, smothered in a chipotle cream sauce. It was pretty dang good, folks. Not the kind of thing you'll typically see at a Mexican restaurant so it's worth giving a shot. Lastly, churros! Crispy and tasty with two dipping sauces. Pretty good! In the few times we've tried it, it's been pretty good. Their burrito selection is limited, which I'm not a fan of. That being said, burritos are more tex mex, but they have other tex mex items, so I dunno. Anyway, they're accommodating with both their selections and covid precautions, so that's helpful. With the exception of their refried beans and chipotle chicken, it's all about the same as you might get anywhere else, so it all depends on your priorities.

The food is always filling, flavorful, and well-worth the prices. Service is quick and friendly, and they have many options for different dietary needs: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. I recommend ordering the fajitas or the Creamy Chipotle Chicken, both have enough food for two meals! Been eating here for over a decade, favorite mexican cuisine in the area. Best dessert is either the Fried Icecream or the Xango for sure!!

This is my go to place for lunch when I'm hungry for Mexican food. It is a small restaurant located in a strip mall. There is plenty of parking. The service is always good with a friendly wait staff. There isn't a long wait time for your food once you've ordered which is nice if you only have an hour for lunch. The restaurant is clean and appears to be well maintained. My choice for lunch is always the lunch combo. It's nice that I can pick the items for my meal. The full menu is also available but I find that to be too much food for lunch. Chips and fresh salsa are always provided as pre-meal munchies. I would highly recommend this restaurant if in the Collegeville area.

I've lived in the area for almost thirty years and this was my first time eating at Tortugas! Recommendation came from a friend who has been here. She knows I love Mexican Food so I was interested in it, I didn't think Tortugas could be as good as my fave, El Limon. Strike one, the hours on Yelp and on their sign said they were opened at 4:30- when we arrived, the lights were off and it was dark. I really was irritated with that. There is confusion with the info on the website versus the menu. The web says they offer drinks and cocktails etc, the menu says it's BYOB - ummm so which is it?! I asked the server and its BYOB, they offer one free margarita a certain day and time range but I honestly forget what the server told me. I don't drink, so I don't care. I do want other Yelpers to know about the drink situation- remember it's BYOB. The server was a young lady with strawberry blonde hair, extremely friendly and attentive. They served us delicious chips and a side of luscious pico de gallo. It was fresh, with just the right amount of heat, diced onions and cilantro. My order was three enchiladas one cheese, chicken and beef with rice, no beans. The rice was tender, moist and flavorful- no dried up peas and carrots either that seem to be the standard in Mexican Rice. The chicken and steak were delicious and tender, it was shredding right from the fork. I didn't detect much seasoning though in the meats. The cheese enchiladas was stuffed generously with cheese. My friend ordered three cheese enchiladas w rice and beans. The delicious food and kind service made me forget about the restaurant being closed when I showed up. I would definitely come back again! This may very well replace El Limon as my fave! Can't wait to bring my family here soon. I think the meals are a little more thank what you would expect but it's worth it- the quality is there! Keep up the great work, Tortugas!!

Good food, friendly service and clean. The pico and chips come out right away and are good. The guacamole is very good. Had the chipotle chicken with beans, chorizo quesadilla, and veggie taco. All were tasty and made to order. Portions are generous and atmosphere is relaxed. I plan to return.

My family and I have been coming here for years and it is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! The chips and pico de Gallo are great but the chicken tacos take the cake. After living in California for a few years and trying every taco imaginable, Tortugas tacos reign supreme in my eyes! The service is great and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend!

Every dish tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Service was fabulous! Started with their house-made guacamole & pico de gallo, which were both super fresh and the perfect way to kick things off. I also tried the elote, which was packed with flavor, and the fish taco, which was light, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The King Taco was another standout, and I really loved the queso birria taco; so rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a great birria taco. And you can't leave without trying their horchata, which was the perfect refreshing drink to go with all the food. I also had the opportunity to try their Baja fish taco which was another stand out for me! The fish was light, the Baja sauce was so flavorful and delish! What makes this spot even more unique is that their locations are actually inside QuickStop gas station market, which makes it such an unexpected gem. Their first location started near the King of Prussia area, and they now have a few locations in the area; including this one in Collegeville. Just goes to show that sometimes the best food can come from the most unexpected places. If you see El Gordo Bros while you're stopping at QuickStop... trust me, it's worth it.

Cold, rainy, and we were already in King of Prussia .... twist my arm for a margarita! (I'm always…read moreup for a good margarita.) 3:30 Saturday, and the place was packed. Plaza Azteca is reliably good, and late lunch/early-geriatric-dinner made sense. Margaritas, yum. I've learned to stick to frozen strawberry, not overly sweet but fruity. A neighboring table ordered what looked like a milkshake. Nope, pina colada, which I note here as a reminder to try next time. Calories be damned! We started with guacamole made tableside. This was almost twice the size (plus better and cheaper) than what we recently had in Manhattan. My husband's main was what they call a "loaded" chili relleno with chicken. The doughy coating overpowered the chili. I thought it mediocre. I went with chori pollo: grilled chicken, topped with chorizo. I enjoyed it -- plenty to take home -- but the chorizo was milder than what I've had here before. Needed more zing. As said, we like this restaurant. While not five stars, four is nothing to sneeze at!

For dessert they brought out a plate of warm churros and ice cream with a happy birthday sparkler and gathered to sing happy birthday in Spanish!
