I hired Alex to Sod my backyard with St. Augustine and plant 8 $300 bushes along the front of my house. One Bush is dead. The only thing green in my backyard are all the weeds. The St. Augustine Sod that I paid for all died off. I have an excellent irrigation system and my front yard, that he didn't touch, looks like a perfect green carpet. Thanks, Alex. PS. I paid him extra to come and lay some ground covering mulch. When he ran out he said he would go to the store and get more to finish the job the next day. I wanted someone who is always in my area because it makes scheduling much easier. I actually didn't check yelp before deciding to do business with him. But even if I did I would still use him. I hired Alex to change my yard from all grass to all rocks because I was tired of taking care of the yard. He gave us a fair price and the scheduling process was easy too. Prior to working with Alex, I was used to contractors not returning calls or picking up calls. But Alex has his own designer who would keep us updated in the process. Following what we thought was an over inflated estimate on a landscaping project much much larger than what we sought to do, we went to Yelp to see who else we might get estimates from. Alex and Guerrero Landscape got our attention. Our walkthrough, followup discussion, and interactions with Alex convinced us to work with them. Given the delay in getting everything assembled, submitted, and approved by the HOA, it did cost us some project time to get formally on to Alex's teams schedule. When work began it all went very well. Yes, there were a couple of followup messages that needed to take place because of us getting too few or too small of plants for the space or the issue with the landscape light wiring needing to be replaced that led to the pace of things to slow at time. But, Alex and his team always came through for us. Found Alex to be both honorable and a gentleman which was nice to see. His great rapport with my Wife made life all that much better. I had an area of muddy sparse grass that wouldn't grow because of lack of sun. I decided to replace with artificial grass. I was pleased with the professionalism, skills, and effort this team put forth. I have recommended them to my friends on several occasions. Alex Guerrero was out to provide a free estimate within 48hours, respectfully challenged my landscape plan when he knew better (he's the expert!), had the itemized estimate to me the next day, scheduled us out a week and a half, called in advance to report they'd be a day late, and then showed up to work the morning he said they'd be here. He had a team of two here for the majority of four days, only interrupted by a storm, but he was in and out working along side them. I'd asked a few other companies about removing some old, ugly landscape lighting while clearing our two large beds, but he was the only one who agreed and explained the process. They cleared the beds (totally overgrown with weeds/baby trees) by removing all plants, as well as the top four or so inches of soil. They replaced soil, put down weed fabric, replanted my good plants in better positions in terms of light and space needed, and mulched. The beds look amazing! Never better! They also fixed a couple of depressions in the yard where we'd previously lost a few trees and had stumps ground by removing the sawdust/filler, replacing with soil, and I'm expecting him to come by with grass to plant later today. Finally, when I asked about a fourth task (planting and securing a small tree) during the free consult, he just smiled and said of course and they'd do that for free. Then he helped me choose the best place for it. I've added Alex to my contacts and he'll be my landscape guy moving forward. Reliable, professional, friendly, and knows his stuff! read more

Included having to remove 9 large trees that had become diseased. Alex help us figure out what trees and shrubs would look and work best for all spaces and his suggestions have worked out perfectly. I have never written a review but felt it was necessary. Alex came out and gave me a quote which I thought was very fair price. I had scheduled to get a sprinkler system installed and once his crew got here they said they couldn't do it because the yard was not flagged for utilities or gas lines. This should have been done from the get go since it was scheduled weeks in advance. When I contacted Alex he said he had ordered it earlier in the week but when he sent me the info of the request he made I could clearly see it was done that day. Although it was a little frustrating I didn't say anything and moved forward. The city came and flagged the gas lines but not the cable. I had advised Alex that day that only the gas was labeled and said they would be here in a couple of days and should be fine. Once again his crew came in and then said they couldn't do the yard because the cable lines for the neighborhood were all running through my back yard and he didn't want to be responsible for causing an issue which I can understand. My problem was that this was the second time they came out and couldn't do the work because lack of preparation from Alex. I called him and explained my frustration with it because yet again it wasn't flagged correctly which I had even told him 2 days prior that only the gas had been flagged. His crew left and he has yet to return any of my calls or texts. He should understand why I was frustrated and why I would be irritated that a job has been pushed off multiple times because lack of preparation. Timely job well done! While I was out if town with my boyfriend, we were notified by our house-sitter that we had a deadline by the city of Dallas to weed our yard. Unfortunately the deadline was before we would be back in town. To top it off, it was the 4th of July weekend and we weren't expecting anyone to be able to help us out in time. So I had a pool installed recently, but unfortunately the pool company tore the hell out of my lawn (& part of my neighbor's lawn) including the underground sprinklers. I called several companies for quotes. Alex was quick to respond and gave me a very reasonable quote. He responded quickly, performed an estimate when it was convenient for me to meet with him, and had his team out to do the job in just a few days. Alex and his team were absolutely fantastic. We had a big sod job in 2017. This spring (2018) some of the grass didn't come out of its dormant state. We contacted Alex and he quickly jumped in and made it right. I don't typically write reviews but this experience has been more frustrating at every turn. We requested a retaining wall to be installed and asked for a quote. Alex was slow to communicate and respond to some of the changes we wanted to make. But I chalked it up to us making changes and that was on us. But then the work began and his employees were leaving trash all over our front and back yard, and I got chewed out by our neighbor because they began leaving trash on their lawn too. We also caught one of the employees urinating in our backyard. So, they said they were done but we had to request they come back out to remove 6-8 inches of soil against our foundation, which actually was in our original quote. He took off $500 from a $9K bill for having to come back out. We also just had a new lawn installed and our sprinkler system wasn't working. Turns out, his employees cut a line in our sprinkler system when they installed french drains, even though we made sure to point out where the heads and line were. It's not that hard to be professional and maybe if you have an easy job, this would be fine but I would not recommend using this guy in the future. UPDATED: Alex has since contacted us and was very apologetic. He said he wished he would have known about the damaged sprinkler system because his company also specializes in that work. We didn't know until we turned it on recently and I also think his employees should have informed him, since they were the ones that damaged it. Regardless, Alex did respond quickly and offered to pay for the repair costs of the sprinkler system. read more
