The bid was within the range we expected and they proposed replacing our gutters which was something we hadn't requested. The gutters were the item that tipped us to choosing this group. We were delighted with the speed with which the job was scheduled. The weather caused a slight delay but they finished quickly and left no mess behind! I liked that we were kept informed on the progress; we regularly received photos and communications especially when sections of the roof were found to be in rough shape. I've been a customer of Wilber's for several years. Up till now I've always found them to be…read morereasonable in price, professional, reliable and trustworthy. I don't know what's happened but, they are no longer the company they used to be. I recently hired Wilbers to repair a loose newel post at the bottom of my stairs. When Danny the estimator came he explained that it might be an easy fix or more involved if they needed to install a new 4X4 interior post. Though I requested that he provide estimates for both scenarios he only sent the estimate for the worst case scenario. I let that go because I trusted that they would do the right thing should it prove to be an easy fix. When they arrived it turned out that all that was needed was to replace the wooden board in the basement with a 2 ft. 2x4 and tighten the bolt that runs inside the post. The workers were here for 1 hour and for this Wilber's decided that a fair price was $820. It seemed absolutely outrageous to me that they would charge me $820 to tighten a bolt so I tried reaching out to Wilber 3 times and asked that he call me back to discuss. Well he never called me back. I can only assume that he knows full well that he did is wrong and is unable to justify his outrageous pricing. It's sad that Wilber thinks this is how you should treat a loyal customer and it's certainly disappointing to discover what an unprofessional and unethical person he is. I certainly will never utilize the services of Wilbers ever again and I would caution anyone thinking of hiring them to think twice. Wilber is a man that lacks integrity and therefore someone you cannot trust to do business with.

I would absolutely recommend Monk's for home renovations of all shapes and sizes. Monk's is the only place that I would turn to for any type of home remodeling project. Someone on…read moreFacebook recommended him to me when my kitchen cabinets had become worn and damaged in the corners. They either needed to be refinished or painted, and we decided to paint them. From the moment I reached out, Samir responded right away. He is an unbelievably good communicator. Because of scheduling and logistics, we did a lot of texting, and he promptly provided me with a detailed written estimate. Once I chose my color, he handled everything -- purchasing all the paint and supplies, and arriving with his assistant fully prepared. They carefully protected and taped off everything before starting. They were highly efficient, clearly experienced, and paid close attention to every detail. On the first day, they meticulously removed all the cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, organizing everything carefully in containers. Then they sanded everything thoroughly. They took the doors with them, and just two days later returned to reinstall everything. The finished result is absolutely beautiful. My kitchen looks amazing, and I could not be happier. I would like to separate out the work product from the service aspect. The work product you can seen from the pictures - our bathrooms are transformed. It's one thing to select nice finishes and materials and another thing to install them with care and quality. They delivered on both. Then, there is the service aspect. My wife was late into her pregnancy when we started the work and then we had a newborn and a young child too while the work was being finalized. Samir and team were so conscientious - there were times when we weren't even sure they were there because the were working so quietly. I began working with Anthony a decade ago. At a prior home, he and his team turned my 90 year old basement into a luxurious lower level. The walls were cement block and wire under stucco. We opened, drilled and repositioned everything -- without getting dust all over our living spaces upstairs. They asked all the right questions of me, and when I was too busy to be involved I knew I could pass the detail decisions off to them. It worked like a charm. From that experience, we hired him to do a bathroom remodel. It was flawless and spotless once again. One of the main reasons I bought my current home is because the prior owner used Anthony James to do a complete gut renovation, and the work was overseen by his amazing foreman Tommy Kraus and exacting carpenter, Carlos Vallejo.
