On a Sunday afternoon, it was $3 per person. For frequent shoppers and vendors, I think they have stamp cards, which is neat. We had to speed run this trip because we had plans later on in the day, but we saw there was a swap meet across the street from the Brazilian restaurant that we were getting brunch at and nothing prepared us for how MASSIVE it is. I grew up going to swap meets, with one down the street for me, but this is hands down the BIGGEST one that I've been to. So big that my friends and I got split up immediately and it was somewhat difficult to find each other and leave towards the end since there's just rows and rows and aisles and aisles each and which way you turn with some dead ends here and there. There's food vendors and of course, lots of trinket, electronics, thrifted, home goods, and so much more. There's plants, fresh fruit, nuts, a neat little accordion (not sure what it's called but it's antique looking and little mechanical bits and pieces to it) that a performer had, jewelry, toys, video games, unique artwork, school supplies, clothes, etc. Before entering, we saw a vendor selling 6 pieces of clothing for $10. Friend got a bunch of accessories and jewelry for under $20. I got a cool 2 headed T-rex for $2. Some cool things were vintage Beanie Babies and the Panda Express restaurant signs? I would love to come back here and thoroughly parse through everything. Get there early in the morning and then spend hours here.

The area was big with lots of vendors and even food vendors too! It was just nice to walk around and see the great deals people had to offer! When you take a look at the stage and the wide look of the seats you can imagine the many people when they came to theater the sounds of the orchestra that would welcome the many theater goers with the performers would greet so many. When you think back to the years of the 1940s you look back to the black and white films to when the many films and the stage would have a stage announcer, he would be the one that would get the audience the announcements and with the music to start the evening. The tuxedos and the dresses which were some of the dressy wears with the night of entertainment. With the many productions that have been performed at the Starlight Bowl Theater from the modern performers that have done large concerts and the grades of music from the first orchestras which were the many schools that were performing in front of the many crowds. With the many museums that had opened at Bal Boa Park the coming of the Panama Canal Exposition which was the greatest thing that gave the city of San Diego and the performing arts theater with the Introduction of the many new flavors. With my visit to Balboa Park, it was one of the best to see the places which had the performing arts area that gave the Starlight Bowl Theater its name and the power that it shared with the park. The years you see in the theater and the with the many colors of theater and the way the way it was first opened the sounds of the music you can still hear from the Starlight Bowl they have playing and the sounds of the 1930s and the 1940s. When you walk about the many areas near theater you can still see and feel what the age of Bal Boa Park and the Starlight Bowl the many musical and the first actors that would come to the Starlight Bowl and the Orchestras that made the 1930s up until now you may see there is so much history with the Spreckles and the Bal Boa Theater which are connected to the performing arts. Being a Yelp Elite Reviewer when I saw the Starlight Bowl was closed it was like killing the music of San Diego the history and with the sounds of great music and the age of the Broadway Shows have made the Hollywood. Films and the first black and white films the many years from the first age of films and the many years of the Orchestras first performed here. The Starlight Bowl is one place that has so much energy and the magic which is still there to restart the Starlight Bowl to give a great taste of the yesteryears to show San Diego what the original films and the Broadway Shows. Starlight Bowl still has the power and the feel to bring back the crowds to shine under the stars of San Diego.

When we got our tickets scanned, the greeter was very cheerful and was helpful on guiding us to the correct theater. We watched the new horror film called, "The Mummy"...we enjoyed it. You've got to be kidding me…read more We showed up early for our movie, and nothing happened. No previews, no ads, no movie... just a dark screen and a theater full of people sitting in silence wondering what was going on. After waiting, I called the front desk and was told they were "trying" to fix it. No apology, no updates, no offer of a refund or any compensation for everyone's wasted time. What makes this even more frustrating is that management apparently already knew the projector was having issues, yet customers were still being seated without any warning or communication. I usually arrive early because I actually enjoy watching the previews and ads before the movie, but instead we spent that time waiting with no information and no customer service. Technical problems happen. Ignoring your customers and failing to communicate is the real issue. Very disappointing experience.

The turnout crowd was really big, both the front picnic blanket patron area and the back chair patron area were full by 6:00pm. Fun Flicks arrived at Liberty Station two hours late. At approximately 8:30pm, the truck pulled up, but the giant inflatable screen, video and audio systems took another thirty minutes to troubleshoot because of a loss of power and audio feed. The inflatable screen deflated/inflated three times before the movie started. By 9:00pm the screen was up, the video and audio were working, but half of the families and kids in both the picnic blanket area and the chair area packed up and left. The kids' time was over, it was getting cold, they had to go to bed. The screen deflated/inflated again, during Act I. Later, the audio cutout during Act II, and the video froze a minute after. That was it, I was not a fan at that point, I called it quits, packed up and left sad and disappointed. My faith in the Force was lost. The opportunity cost loss was pretty big. The Comickaze guys were out almost $2000 for this setup, but they apologized to the remaining crowd and offered discounts on their shops' comic books. The audience will blame Comickaze, they don't know who Fun Flicks is. Fun Flicks apologized and scheduled a makeup-date. This event needs improvement. Liberty Station power requirements, temperature and moisture considerations, and no technical support all played a hand. Recommend performing a dry-run a few days in advance at Liberty Station to figure out power, video and audio problems.

On this night, "Brave" was the featured film. Movies start at sundown, but the county was wise enough to provide hoola hoops for the kids to play with while waiting for the show to begin. We arrived about 20 minutes before the show started and had no problem parking or finding a nice spot to put down our blankets. It was such a great experience seeing all of the families enjoying a sunset picnic and kids running around on the grass and snuggling with their parents. Here are some tips for having the best time possible; * Dress warm - Think sweats and beanies. It gets a little cold on the ground once the sun goes down, even in San Diego. Some smaller kids had on snuggly pajamas which is fine too, unless you have the kind of kid who is going to be doing a lot of playing and running around before the show. * Bring beach chairs and or blankets. Make sure to have warm blankets to cover up with too. Some people left early because they were cold. * Don't forget the hot snacks! Think a thermos of hot chocolate, warm apple cider or other warm drinks. Some people picked up burritos on the way, some brought pizza and sandwiches. Everyone with hot steaming food was the envy of their neighbors. * Bring a couple of toys. Kids were playing with balls and bug catchers prior to the show. Josie hoola hooped, but I kind of wished I brought her ponies so she could have had something to offer to her new friends. We only got about half way through the movie, since Josie started falling asleep around 9pm. Luckily, we were near the side, so it was easy to make a smooth exit without walking in front of anyone. I would definitely advise that if you think you might have to make a quick getaway too! However, since it is all families, I'm pretty sure even if you were in the middle, everyone would understand.

I wish I could take some shots during the performance, but it was strictly prohibited. The facility was designed very unique, you get to walk down and even further deeper down to reach the main stage, yet everything else got pretty well maintained except for the construction next door right now, I really don't know what they're going to do with the old Horton Plaza, although it was dearly missed. Parking was easy, some meters are expired after 6 PM, if you don't mind walking a few blocks like me, some expired at 8 PM, then you might have to put in a few bucks, but that's downtown for you, I think everyone else would rather pay valet and enjoy their sit down during the show, am I right?

I can easily rent something, wear my jammies, have a full meal and drinks in bed... but The LOT makes it worth getting out of the house. I still wear my jammies and slippers here and feel extra comfy. The reserved seating is a huge plus, and the recliners are so comfortable you feel like you're lying on a bed. With the push of a button, someone comes to take your order -- food, drinks, whatever you want. Yes, it's pricier than a standard theater, but the experience feels special. The theater itself is clean, small, and elevated compared to a typical movie theater. Each seat has its own little lamp and a swivel table for your snacks or dinner, which makes the whole setup feel boutique and cozy. I haven't tried the outdoor bar, restaurant, or café yet, but I love that they offer all of that in one place. This is the perfect spot for movies that deserve surround sound, a big screen, and a shared audience to laugh or cry with. And a tip: if you join their free rewards program, you can snag discounted tickets -- a great mid‑week treat. I would recommend getting their early to order your food/drink before the movie starts so you don't have to get intruppted mid movie! They also have a location in La Jolla that's just as nice, and they host fun watch parties and themed movie events, so check out their website to see what's coming up.

However, both food quality and service have been declining. They recently debuted ordering directly from your phone. But there's a tension between going that route and the servers. The servers are more proactive, almost aggressive about getting to you before you begin a phone order. And if you politely refuse, then you're persona non grata to them. Case in point, this weekend we watched the latest Star Wars movie. I'd ordered ketchup and ranch with two of our entrees. Neither were delivered with ranch, only ketchup. When we pressed the button for help, it took a while for the server to come. She understood our request for ranch dressing. But it never came. My fried chicken sandwich was dry and barely edible. The fries were good though, despite not getting the ranch I asked for.
