Disorganization 101. Sadly, due to the poor customer service, I'd have to think twice about coming here for a movie or screening again. Unfortunately, the approximate one hour before the movie, was a complete disaster. As I entered the theater, looking for the ticket table as I had done at other screenings in the past, there was no table to be found. I mentioned to the girl at the entry that I was looking for the ticket table and that I was here for the screening, and you would have thought that I was speaking Klingon. Poor girl had absolutely no idea what I was talking about as she stared at me blankly. Looks like someone didn't communicate what was going on today. This is where the chaos ensued. As we created a single file line inside, anxious with anticipation for The Odyssey, Adrian suddenly appeared. 'You guys have to wait outside, you're blocking the exit doors' he quipped. So those individuals blocking the doors, about half of the line thus far, stepped outside. A few moments later Adrian reappeared, this time with his sights set on us who were patiently waiting alongside the stanchion ropes. 'You guys gotta go outside, you're blocking the walkway', which clearly we were not blocking any walkway. Apparently the third party company running the ticket distribution were late, so there was nobody assisting to guide the situation. At around 6:15 or so, a rep shows up who apparently worked for said company. Unfortunately that didn't help, as there was continued confusion about where and how we should line up, shifting us from one spot to the next, until Adrian reemerged. 'You guys need to line up against the wall' he rudely shouted. He continued to shout again stating we were blocking what appeared to be a backstage/employee exit door. I wondered if they talk to their coworkers or other patrons like this. It wasn't so much as what they said, it was how they said it. Perhaps he was having a really bad day. We were told by the rep that we would be let in at 6:30, however we didn't start getting let in until about 10-15 minutes after that. According to the rep, "they" were setting up the theater and that's what was causing delays. Once inside, we were then tasked with finding unreserved seats in the dark. I only say unreserved because as you looked around, it was clear that none of the reserved seating was for our group. Thankfully, we snagged the first two open seats right when we walked in. I probably would have gotten some snacks, but since we were let in so close to the start of the movie, we decided against it. The seats were comfy and the sound was awesome.

Watched "Obsession" here. It was a busy night since it was Friday night. The staff were very welcoming and friendly up front. I ordered a Kids Pack, Yes, I am a big kid at heart. The cashier was very sweet and made sure I got everything I needed. The theatre was clean and the AC was on so that made the movie more enjoyable! Overall experience at AMC Mission Valley was Awesome!!

Update: seats are still gross, went today 3/21/26. Good friendly service though and love that the Latino Film Festival is held here.

It's a VERY AGED AMC. Carpets and chairs are a bit grimy, seats aren't reclining amongst other things and you're paying the same price as a standard AMC. We came here for a 9:30 PM showing of the Spongebob Movie in 3D and thank goodness it wasn't a full theater because we had to shift our seats due to all of the stains and spills that were on our assigned seats. A bit gross. Bathrooms weren't the cleanest either but it was at the end of the day, so there's that. It looked like some renovations were being made to this mall, so hopefully this theater gets updated too. Ordering from the self help kiosk was easy and we had no difficulty getting to our theater and seats. Sound, 3D, visual qualities were all there. I'm sure there's a newer more popular AMC in the area, but as tourists, we stopped by the closest one with the most reasonable time.

Went here for an early screening of The Odyssey movie and boy was it unorganized. I don't know if it was the theater staffs fault or the organizers, but it was chaotic. One of the theater employees was extremely rude during the entire pre-show line up while guests were getting ready. The sun was blazing, so the line formed in the shade and he moved the line 2 different times until the entire line was standing in the sun getting baked. The concession ran out of regular popcorn, so I went with the special gourmet popcorn. I got the Mexican street corn and it wasn't bad, but I would not get it again. The popcorn itself had an okay flavor, but it was soft, clearly not fresh, and had a bunch of crumbs. The seats were comfortable, the picture quality was good, and the sound was booming! The movie was incredible. That was the saving grace of the event had it been a crappy movie I probably would've given 1 star.

I'm an A-list subscriber and fortunate to live within 5 miles of two AMC locations: Mission and Fashion. I bounce between the two locations depending on what's showing, but my preference is the Fashion Valley location. Pros: upgraded to laser over the summer, IMAX upgraded (recliners now!), and my favorite -- Dolby. Cons: outside of Dolby and IMAX, the seats are terrible. I recently saw them in full lighting and I now want to cover the seat in a pillowcase. Every time I've gotten a soda at concessions, it's tasted like it was low on syrup. The Mission Valley mall is not great but that means it isn't as busy as Fashion. The employees always are nice and I like that there's free parking (which in San Diego is becoming a novelty).

Movies are always amazing at AMC PB, I've not gone to a movie as frequently as I have in the past and now there are so many different options like Dolby, imax, XL.....and so on. I went to an XL and honestly didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Still....great time and good movies.

The family rarely ever goes to the movies nowadays. We usually stream from home. Plus, it seems like the quality of movies has not been very good in the last few years. Studios are recycling old ideas or rebooting franchises too often. Family member was asking to see a new animated movie in IMAX. I really like the IMAX theatre (theatre 4). The seats and carpet appear newish. Not only that but the family loves the picture and sound quality of IMAX movies. I'm unsure exactly when they remodeled, but glad they did. It would be nice if they gave more TLC to more of the theatres here. I feel like many of them are outdated. The theatre carpet in the lobby looks old and sometimes the bathrooms aren't the cleanist. The box office and self service kiosks are gone. I'm sure most people just buy tickets through their phone and check in at the lobby entrance. Tickets are expensive, but what isn't expensive nowadays lol. We rarely if ever buy snacks from concessions because it's just too pricey. We usually eat beforehand or maybe bring something in from Target. Service is generally okay to good. We will continue to see movies here or at AMC Fashion Valley. Just depends on what comes out and if we feel like it's worth seeing in theatres. 5 / 5: IMAX or Dolby Movies 3 / 5: Standard movies 2 / 5: Concession Food / Snacks / Drinks 3 / 5: Service 3.25 / 5: Overall

Wavered back and forth between four and three stars. Is this the most modern or greatest of theatres? Nah. Not even close. Seats are pretty old. Bathrooms are run down. But in my head that gives it charm! It's a solid theater. No frills no thrills. Just popcorn, sticky floors and the big screen. Staff is always seemingly understaffed but I think they stagger the movie times well enough that the lines to concessions are never terribly too long. They also sell alcohol which is a plus. You'll pay about 9 dollars for a regular popcorn and 7 for a drink. Tickets are 16 dollars and up depending on time and ticket purchased. It's right next to yard house and right in the middle of the mall. Parking is always going to be a good 10 minute walk.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the condition of the seats during my recent visit. As shown in the attached photo, the seats were heavily stained, dirty, and appeared to be poorly maintained. This made the experience uncomfortable and did not meet the level of cleanliness I expected, especially after paying for tickets. I believe movie theaters should provide clean and well-maintained seating for their guests. I hope you will address this issue so future customers can have a better experience. I would also appreciate if you could consider providing a resolution for the inconvenience. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.

Dirty, cloth, outdated, non reclining/heating seats.

Honestly felt like I overpaid for a downgrade. The screen was surprisingly small for a theater of that size--felt more like watching a big TV than a movie experience. The seats were old, cloth (not even the easy-to-clean kind), and looked worn out and kind of dirty. Definitely not what you expect when you're paying premium prices. And that's the real kicker... $19 a ticket?? For that? No recliners, no luxury feel, nothing that justifies the price. The only redeeming quality was the sound system. If you're charging that much, at least keep the place updated and clean. Plenty of better theaters around.

GOING TO THE "MOVIES" (3 stars) I like AMC. Going to the movies is sadly a dying leisure pleasure. Becoming unpopular they ripped out the ticket booth that once stood outside because tickets are now bought thru the app and also less people coming thru there was no need for it. I've been here MANY TIMES. And all times have always been mediocre. Not my main theater of choice. Went to watch "Doin' It" (by the way, so hilarious) and it was in Theater 12 - it was only showing here out of the entire San Diego County. A-LISTER MEMBERSHIP. If you are a movie bluff - it would make sense to be a member for perks and discounts. I am a movie bluff. I think this all started that my first job ever was at a movie theater. So I def have a soft spot for theaters and movies and movie theater popcorn. Even on a Wednesday, tickets and food were discounted. My ticket was 50% off and my small popcorn+drink was $7.00 (cheaper than a kids pack and you get more). THEATER CLEANLINESS. It will depend on which theater you watch. I been to several theaters at this location and some are way more dirtier than others. Theater 12 was pretty clean and the seat conditions were decent and not as bad as I've seen compared to the theaters next door. Until the next flick...

The other day I went to see an anime movie and today I went to see The Drama. I was the only person watching inside auditorium 6. That's right a private movie theater all to myself and ate a warm hotdog and impossible nugget for dinner. I had it ordered ahead of time so all I had to do was pick up. It was there and was quick service. Staff were very friendly and moving the lines great. Years ago amc theaters used to have onions for their hotdogs not sure why they stopped serving onions I think it should be optional just not leave it out for self serve. I like this amc theaters because it's one of the few locations that has Japanese anime movies or independent film. The chair in auditorium is does not recline and no heaters it's fabric seats but I was comfortable and the sound quality was right. I am glad I brought a blanket it was freezing inside. I enjoy watching movies here and will be back. It's convenient and relaxing place to watch a movie.

    Is seating reserved?

    Yes it is.

Are outside snacks permitted in the cinema? such as starbucks etc?

My kid brings snacks all the time and they don’t say anything to him. I always bring a refillable water bottle with me and no one has ever said a word to me at any AMC location I’ve been to. I don’t know what the actual policy is though.
