I am not that creative, however I did have an idea of what I wanted to do since I was going to a Mardi Gras party coming up. It was a little chaotic since you only have two hours to make your project. They did say you could come back to finish at any time, however that is not what I had in mind. The one thing that irked(sp?) me the most was that with the short amount of time we had they only had primary paint colors so you literally had to mix your usual colors. I understand if you are trying to make a special shade, but you should have more than just primary colors. Also they had a hair dryer to help speed up the drying process, but they only had one for the about 30 people in the room. I think this is a great concept, however maybe still going through growing pains? Maybe spend a couple more bucks on your business to make your customers experience less stressful. I know I didn't pay full price with a Living Social Deal, but glad I didn't pay full price since it was a tad stressful with the lack of pain colors.

They had a lot of information on the masks and Italy in general, and knowledgeable about the food/wine available. You have a lot of masks to choose from and then are given paint to go at it. They have a bunch of masks hanging on the walls that you can ask for, and they will give it to you at your table so you have some "inspiration", for those creativeless people like me. I just googled an idea and went at it. There is also an artist there that will walk around and help you with any questions that you may have. All in all, it was a great date (good job, boyfriend)!

I talked to four different letterpress printing company's and not only were the prices competitive at Lucky Onion but Cristy took the time to meet with me and go over all my options. The final product turned out beautifully and I could not be happier with the quality of the work and the professionalism from Cristy. I look forward to working with Lucky Onion for my invitation suite and the rest of my wedding day paper products.

If you're looking for a Colorado-based stationer who incorporates a bit of eco-friendly philosophy…read morein their printing operations, check out Lucky Onion! CJ Kard in Colorado Springs is a retailer of L.O. products, and we were fortunate to have recently ordered some Save The Date cards through them. We were brain-fried after going through page after page of designs by some large corporate stationers/printers. After some discussion, CJ Kard realized we might be interested in an in-state printer who dabbled in being "green" - and L.O. was introduced. We were super excited to discover that L.O. offers a variety of paper stock with at least 30% PCW up to 100%, and their website details other Earth-good practices. We loved how all the stationery was customizable, but the cheapest way to go is to stick with existing designs and layouts. The first proof is free. Within three days after putting in our order and including the photo we wanted them to use, L.O. sent an electronic proof. We made a minor adjustment, and 7 days later, our cards arrived! They turned out better than I expected - they even look better than the proof! The colors are wonderful, the designs are crisp, and I love the feel of the paper. L.O. included envelopes for the number of cards we ordered and threw in a couple extra cards as keepsakes. After all was said and done with CJ Kard taking their share of the profits and Uncle Sam taking his, our SaveTheDates ended up being $1.48/card. We're so pleased that we're going to try to do our invitations with L.O., too. So if you want to send unique Christmas postcards, party invitations, announcements, wedding stationery made by a Colorado company, I highly recommend you find a retailer that works with Lucky Onion!

Zeke has been a tremendous help to me the past few days, and I'm thrilled I met him, to help me…read moreselect a custom fence stain. While I had initially hired a fence & gate contractor to stain & seal my new fence & gate that they built on Fri 10/20, when that deal/job fell through (see that Yelp review), I was left in a lurch to find a different fence stain, and hire a new contractor. After extensive hours spent this weekend - Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday afternoon learning far more than I ever wanted or intended to learn about the differences between wood types (cedar vs. else) and fence stains (water-based vs. oil-based) at Home Depot & Sherwin Williams, as well as through my mom's real estate friend, as well as her daughter in Boise, ID, who worked for a fence stainer, and her consulting with her former boss, after talking to nearly ~10 people, only Zeke was able to quickly, clearly, and concisely cut through the decision-making process for me, and guide me to a custom stain selection. Lessons Learned: 1. Water-based stains last approximately 3-5 years, so if I had gone with the Behr initial water-based samples from Home Depot, I'd be back in this same position relatively soon. Do not want this! Luckily, Home Depot offered to allow me to return those samples, which I did yesterday. 2. Zeke helped me understand the difference between transparent vs. semi-transparent, and another third type (which I cannot recall) within the modified-oil based stains, since this is the type Colorado allows paint stores to sell, due to environmental reasons. 3. Once we narrowed this down, Zeke helped custom color match the photo I posted here, as we tried & tested various options on the cedar pickets I purchased & sawed into sections at Home Depot vs. testing directly on my new fence & gate. ---- If all goes well, I should have this custom stain applied to my brand new fence & gate tomorrow, by my second contractor, who confirmed the job today via text, and if - for some odd reason - that deal/job falls through, I have 3 other contractors available & on stand-by. Stay tuned for results! :-) And come to this location, and ask for Zeke, should you find yourself in a similar situation.
