I ordered a pedal that was said to be in excellent condition, with the original box and papers which included the certification for the limited edition Fulltone Ranger OC75. When I received the pedal via UPS it did not have the original box or papers or the certificate of authenticity. I ordered some headphones and a keyboard from this store online and the order was to be split into 2 shipments with the headphones being delivered first. UPS claimed a delivery with a proof of delivery to a location that did not look familiar. UPS directed me to Guitar Center, Guitar Center said not their problem. Tried to start a claim with UPS was told a claim on the item was blocked by Guitar Center. Went ahead and cancelled the keyboard. Can't imagine the hell I would have to go through if this had happened to a more expensive item. So now I'm out $$ with no recourse. Never, ever again. read more

We highly recommend the Guitar Center in Englewood! a few years ago our child was going to start guitar lessons, and we went there to learn more about the guitar options. The staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. They were not pushy or anything and had our best interest in mind as they made suggestions. We returned recently to have the guitar looked at from a maintenance perspective. Andrew at the tech desk was super helpful and recommended a maintenance option that was economical and made sense given the condition of our guitar. He and Miko (sp?) went above and beyond in helping us find the pricing on a guitar strap we were looking at too. Me and 3 other people walked out because we waited at the register to check out for over 10 minutes while two workers were on the phone walking around and the pic n save bob Marlee was loafing through the isle oblivious to people at check out. This is one of my favorite places to go! I've purchased sooooo many guitars here that they should care me in and a king's chair! :) I've been going here since I move to Denver in 2005. I love the place and it's changed so many times. The only heart break is seeing the guitars are less in number and even less in net quality. Now we all know this is due to selling what the customer wants, so not GC's fault. But get a quality guitar and it last forever. Bad cheap and you'll need to replace it, and it retains zero value! Disappointed again!! Purchased a 12 string acoustic guitar last weekend. Noticed immediately when I got it home that several lower frets were dead on the high E string. One of the mangers called to check in last week and I explained it to him. He said to bring it in today and they would do what it takes to fix it. Took it in today and guess what!? The technician spent a half hour explaining to me why it can't / shouldn't be fixed. His recommendation was to hydrate it - no kidding! It was defective from the moment I bought it home and is obvious the tech just doesn't want to do the work. He adjusted the truss bar and now it's worse. Poor quality control and VERY poor customer service. And the bad thing about it is I knew better to buy anything from there based on other past poor experiences. If they can't fix it, then it looks like I will be returning it. read more

I have been taking lessons there for 10 months and all of the sudden my current teacher moves me teachers because one of the past students that took a long break but didn't cancel payment came back and has all these credits they have to use my opinion is if a student leaves they shouldn't be moving a current student to someone else the student that stopped and came back should be moved to another teacher read more

Kudos to the Centennial team. I love going there, sometimes I don't buy online just so I can go to the store and order it from one of the guys. Memphis, Chris, David, Joe, AJ, and the cool guy with long hair and beard that just cut his hair...they are all a great and yes , they are understaffed sometimes, like most places these days, things are different now so you have to plan ahead or call them to see how busy they are. I always know it may take a while, so I make time, and the guys always take care of me, they are polite, professional and always accommodate my needs. I have bought plenty from the Centennial store since 2001. But in the last 2 years my gear acquisition syndrome went to a whole new level so I have been able to spend a lot of time there. I can honestly say this is the nicest group of guys in that store has ever had. It makes me want to work there just to be a part of the crew...but my wife would definitely leave me at that point, and all would be lost. These guys work hard, they take pride on what they do, and you'll never see them just standing there, they are always on the move, taking boxes to the back, bringing new orders to the front, taking phone calls, returns, exchanges, trades, you name it, they make it happen. I love the Centennial GC location. I first met Joey and he was very kind and patient. I wanted to take bass guitar lessons and was worried about a judgemental attitude from a guy but he was very positive and helpful, never any attitude about it. I have been taking one-on-one lessons from one of their younger teachers and absolutely love the guy - he's so smart, very knowledgeable, patient and happy. The guys at the store are friendly and helpful and I can't say enough about how good my experience has been. Even the bathroom is clean. Guitar Center policies and staff are the greatest people and trends to visit the Center with. It is always casual and experimenting with the gear is freely open and smiled over. The staff always accommodates the customer and because of that it just feels like a free open liberated place to roam and shop for items and study gear, without pressure and in no hurry. Especially, Guitar Center County Line Road guitar lesson leadership was very active in supporting me with my brain disability making lessons on a particular day just unreasonable to attend, so I am impressed that I was allowed to let some of that slide, and retain some lessons, when I feel better. Guitar Center at County Line road is crucial for the culture of the Denver area. It is a bastion for music, and if the personnel there get burnt like we all do, it sure isn't because their service and efforts are anything but very important. I came to this Guitar Center interested in buying a guitar and possibly a few other things. The pandemic had the store with very little stock but I did end up finding a very nice guitar. I was delighted and extremely impressed by how knowledgable, friendly, informative, and helpful Dakota was in helping me to find the ideal guitar. I communicated what I was looking for in a guitar, we went over a few different options and we ultimately found the perfect guitar. I was very pleased with the entire process. We had some technical difficulties later on (my plug did not fit into the new guitar) and Dakota was extremely accommodating and helpful in finding an adaptor and the issues addressed. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience at this Guitar Center. In the Pro Audio section, Winn, was also extremely helpful and knowledgable in helping me find a pair of studio monitors. We did A/B tests on all the speakers and Winn was very patient and helpful in giving his professional opinion on all the options. Given the dynamic circumstances of this crazy pandemic, I was very impressed by the team over at Guitar Center. Especially Winn and Dakota. read more

I was in the Arvada, Englewood, and Denver stores and all except the Denver stores seem to have ok to bad customer service, and almost nothing in stock. "Oh, you want to buy a pedal? Well we don't have that one in stock." or "Well, that's a floor model. "Are you willing to sell it for a discount since it is a floor model?" " Nah, we can't sell that floor model, but we can offer you a patch cable." This is often times what I'm told. I buy much of my equipment online since guitar centre either hires the worst people possible (and from what I've been told they're paid I can see why), or their management doesn't seem to care about the store. Another problem besides lack of knowledge reported by a friend who I've given the management of another store is that the sales people (and again this could be due to lack of pay, appreciation, or whatever) don't really seem to care that they're working. I can understand a high turnover rate because lack of sales. The Denver store seems a little better. Maybe because it has more business? They don't generally ask you dozens of questions when you're playing an instrument. Some stores do the second you strum it's a clear sign to them that you're interested in the instrument and want to buy it that second. I'm giving two stars because the Denver store for now gives the chain in Colorado a chance. Although I'm waiting on sites like Sweetwater to destroy this company unless it really changes, and fast. read more

If I could give a negative star, I would. This company is terrible. I bought a guitar and insurance from Guitar Center. After owning the guitar for a few months the guitar became damaged. As promised by the salesperson, insurance would replace a damaged guitar. After bringing the guitar back and speaking with the insurance company, I was supposed to receive a voucher to replace the damaged guitar. Weeks go by and no voucher. Guitar Center says they "fixed" the guitar instead. When I picked the guitar up, it looked like it was fixed with super glue and a sharpie. The technician said that the neck was bent and irrepairable. Here we go again with the insurance company. They kept the guitar and we cycled twice more with a voucher, no voucher, and a crappy "repair" job. At the end, my guitar looks like crap and cannot be played on the lower part of the neck. $800 wasted. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT SHOP AT GUITAR CENTER! read more

Guitar Center is great if you need to pick up an accessory or buy a cheap introductory instrument. If you're looking for a great buying experience for a quality instrument, I do not recommend shopping at Guitar Center. Yes, they have high end Gibsons, Fenders, Gretch, etc guitars (I'm a guitarist so I'm using guitar examples), but since Guitar Center is the equivalent to a Walmart for musicians, a lot of people, musically inclined or not, use and touch and play the instruments. By the time you buy what you think is a new instrument, it's essentially been used by countless others. And this may be a general flaw to Guitar Center. To their credit, they occasionally have decent sales and a decent selection of amps. Their pedal selection is pretty bland; you'll find your typical distortion and wah pedals. Now, as far as this location is concerned, I dislike having to shop here. The staff are incredibly blunt, rude and do not give the customer support I've come to expect from general retail store employees. These guys work (partially) off commission so if they're not seeing returned value in helping you, they're not really cooperative or willing to take the time to help. An example: I was browsing the store looking for a pedal board. I looked by the guitars, their repair station and in the accessories department. I approached an employee and asked where I could find them and he pointed me to the accessories, where I just came from, and walked off in a rush ignoring my attempt to inform him that I found nothing in accessories. I left with a negative experience and never found what I was looking for. In short, this is the place to go for quick-buy accessories and capitalizing on the rare sales they offer on bigger ticket items. If you're looking for a quality buyer experience, great customer service and quality products to choose from, it won't be found here. The Colorado Blvd Guitar Center location offers much better service in my opinion. But if you're serious about getting a great quality instrument I recommend making the trip down to Boulder and checking out Wildwood Guitars. Their service and quality of products are unmatched. I've spent time at both the Park Meadows and the Colorado Blvd Guitar Center stores in recent years, but I've gotten to know the sales people at the Park Meadows store better. They have always treated me well and have done exchanges, trades, and returns without any hassle. The only cons I've run across are similar to what some other reviewers have said. I've tried guitars that aren't playable and desperately need a setup, but are still in the same condition 2 months later. I've also noticed that the Guitar Center website is often incorrect when saying what is in stock. Overall I still gave them 5 stars for the great service I've received. Being able to try out gear and their flexible exchange policy is what keeps me coming back. read more

This location seems to be staffed with pretty knowledgeable people who can be quite helpful, but the issue I have is more with the chain's policy that floor models are considered "stock." This means if you look online and see they have "two in stock," they could both be on display. You have to actually call and see if they have one new in box, but they still consider the floor models to be "new" so you risk them just boxing up the one people have been poking at on the floor when you ask them to hold one until you come in. I'd use caution when buying electronics at Guitar Center for just that reason. I was shopping for a Furman power conditioner and ordered it elsewhere for just that reason; three metro area stores had two "in stock" and all three stores had them on display and powered on for months. read more

Weird. I thought guitar center was about letting music lovers gawk at all the great instruments, while trying it out! I was in the acoustic section with my boyfriend. I saw chairs inside the a room that was in the acoustic guitar area, so I thought "Oh, cool. I guess you can try out acoustic guitars in there." Went inside, saw a fancy guitar and decided to test it out to see how an expensive guitar sounded like. A couple of minutes later, two employees (a young one and an older guy) came in and acknowledged us-- I can't help but feel the younger employee grabbed the older guy to tell him that there were 20 year olds in the room with the high scale guitars; the two just acted occupied for 5 seconds and mumbled. When the younger employee left, the older guy stood in the room with us and just made things fracking awkward. "Is there something I can help you with?" "Nope, we're just looking around and trying things out." "Are you looking for something specific?" "I don't think so, thank you though!" He gives us a deathly stare, "Okay, well, that's a nice guitar. A used one for THREE THOUSAND." Yep, he emphasized three thousand and gave off a negative vibe. Okay.... Do you want my money before I try something? If you wanted us out of the room, just tell us and don't make us feel like we did something wrong or discriminated for the lack o' funds. Who knows, maybe when I'm finished with school I'll buy myself a used, three thousand guitar! Just not from this place. Also, we were planning to buy some DJ equipment later down the line but we're gonna pass on this location (or all guitar centers, since most of them have bad reviews. I can see why.) read more

I responded to Beau, and no response. I contacted Preston, the GM at the Englewood store, and haven't heard back. I was steamrolled by the Manager in Pro Audio for a simple street buy. I'm far from butt hurt regarding rejected on my Tascam piece in the store to sell, when most the time GC rips you off anyways. It's the smug and arrogant and abusive behaviour of Guitar Center employees. How any retails salesemployees get away with this is beyond me. To say "leave your damn Yelp review", deny my request to get his first name, and be hung up on, then Preston the Manager not call me or write me back with a follow up ss he said he would is totally crazy. Okay, so I really do not know squat about guitars. My grade-school experiences playing the baritone horn did not prepare me for a rock-n-roll lifestyle. However, I did come here the other day with friend who is musically inclined (full disclosure, he is a drummer). He had decided it was time to learn the guitar and went here to pick up an axe and amp. We were greeted immediately upon entering the store, and multiple sales clerks soon offered to help. This is definitely better treatment than one might get elsewhere. After initially waiving them off, and wandering around examining the merch, my friend had a discussion with a salesman, narrowed down his choices, and selected a nice quality used guitar and amp. They set up everything for him (stringing, testing, etc.). They sold him a few accessories and threw a couple in as well. The only hard part of this transaction was that the POS (point of sale, not the other POS) system was down, and it took quite a while to finalize the sale. They loaded the equipment in the car, and we were done. All in all, it was a rather pleasant sales experience. read more

I have been to a few Guitar Centers in different states. When I visited, I was looking for a new acoustic guitar to bring with me when I go camping next. I walked into the store (just like all the other ones) and headed straight for the acoustic guitar section. Two employees were in there helping customers so I patiently waited while going to the room with the Martin and Gibson guitars. When I came out, I picked up three Taylor guitars and played them all for a solid five to ten minutes. I saw both employees look at me but never acknowledge me otherwise. I had to approach one to ask for help. He was friendly and gave OK advice. This experience is nothing to be excited about but at the same time nothing went terribly bad either. I'll be back to visit some time but I will definitely shop around like many people have said already. read more
