I have been searching for a hard-shell wood case for my acoustic guitar for quite some time now. After searching online, I was finally able to find one that fit my guitar here. So, I placed my order online and headed to the store after receiving notification that my case was ready for pickup. This Farmers Branch location is a 40-minute drive for me, but I was excited to get this case. The layout of this store is similar to other stores in the chain, which is nice so you can easily find what you're looking for. I was kindly greeted by Jered; he verified my order and went to grab my case. The store was clean and organized, they also have a wide selection of guitars, gear, and accessories to choose from.   Unfortunately, when Jered came back with the case, I instantly noticed several dings, nicks, and a scratch on the case. Jared was kind enough to offer me a small discount, but I was spending almost $130.00 for this new case and wanted something without any damage. Jared issued me a return, then placed an order sourcing the case from another location and having it shipped to my house for convenience.   Overall, I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to drive away with my new case. However, Jared made up for it with his kind, friendly, and helpful service. Thanks Jared!   I recommend this location, and will definitely come back again.

Speaker system was very easy to put up, they supplied all the chords and mic and everything. Great work guys

Tone Shop stocks a wide variety of new and used instruments, as well as amps, pedals, etc. In terms of new guitars, you can expect to find Fender, Gibson, PRS, and Reverend - and maybe more - for electric. Taylor, Martin, Gibson, and more for acoustic. The cool thing though is they carry a range of instruments in these brands. You can buy anything from a Squier, Epiphone, or PRS SE up to a Core PRS or even a Custom Shop Fender or Gibson. And I don't just mean they have a single custom shop guitar on display, they have like a whole wall of high end Fenders and another for Gibsons. It's kind of fun to go in there and see all those amazing guitars. They've got guitars that cost hundreds and guitars that cost thousands. While they might not always have the same range of brands as the bigger store (no new Schecter, EBMM, etc.), they have an amazing selection within the brands they do carry. There's something for everyone. They have a decent selection of pedals, including Boss, Strymon, and more. A small selection of pickups too. I bought one of my favorite guitar straps from them. They've really got a lot of cool stuff! They also have sales periodically, and some great deals can be had! If you sell used gear to them or trade in toward something else, their prices aren't going to be as high as you could get selling it yourself online - but are fair for selling to a retail store. I think you can do a "sell in store" deal through Reverb with them too. I've been really happy with the guitars I've bought from them, and the shopping experience. They also do repairs, pickup swaps, etc. I'm pretty sure this location also offer PLEK. I've never done that myself, but I'm kind of curious about it and might take a guitar in go through the machine some day. Sometimes they host events at the store too. Overall I'd highly recommend Tone Shop in Addison.

Took weeks for…read morethem to respond and I had to follow up daily and then the price they gave was a great deal for them - not me, but I was willing so after hauling the guitars to their store, then it was every little issue with the guitars. the jack has static - 1979 would have that and a simple spray of deoxit but that equated to 500 dollars off their offer. The deal was for them, not me - looking around at their inventory, everything was marked up high so they were going to make double or triple from every guitar in the deal so I decided this was not good for me and called it off. No help getting the guitars in and no help getting the guitars out. And they were stuck on one they wanted to get for dirt cheap. Not a fair offer but lowball. I work in business and know there needs to be a margin, but theirs is around 80% if not 90%. Forget it!! They may have great items but run! You can get a better deal anywhere else with a staff that is not trying to blead you of every dime. Too bad since I proudly wore my Tone Shop Guitar shirt, told everyone about how great they are and the shirt has been tossed. Bottom line - you will get ripped off selling to a store anyway, but the lowball price and then the minor items their skilled staff can easily go through were obstacles and they used that for leverage. Real sleazy practice and a waste of my time! Again - the waste of time was the largest insult of all! Great items and I'm sure the staff is nice, but after this experience I will never buy or recommend this store. This could have been so much better and I'm still very surprised with such a low offer I was willing accept and they wanted to reduce that more for a collection that they would have been making profit hand over fist with the traffic they get.

This school has phenomenal teachers, fabulous group music classes, and unparallelled theory and composition training. All their students study individually with instructors as well as in ensemble settings, and all take separate theory classes. They perform at least 4 times per year, which is great practice! It's a wonderful music community, one I only experienced when I got to college! I wish they had had a school like this when I was a child! We are not planning for our children to be professional musicians (and indeed I am not, either), but I appreciate that my children are in an environment that maximizes their potential. My children play piano, and it has always been fun, move-at-your-own-pace, and encouraging. My little ones are pretty sensitive, so negative pressure or stress would really turn them off--but they love this place and all their teachers, and happily skip into the building each week! The classes and the practice are definitely a time commitment, but the kids love it, and we are committed to making music an integral part of their lives. There is excellent instruction for all levels, from pre-schoolers and young children (like mine) through high school. Some of their recent graduates have gone on to study music at Juilliard and the Eastman School of Music.

It is an excellent experience for children, from 18 months to 18 years, and the music education is incomparable. Suzuki Music Institute of Dallas offers music lessons to children and their families. The instruments taught are violin, viola, cello, bass, piano, harp and organ. The teachers are committed, caring and extremely well trained. The school's history is long and its core mission has remained unchanged since it was first founded over 45 years ago. For the youngest students, SMID has the "Kodomo" class that is very good and unique. Imagine a circle of two-year-olds and their parents being led in song and rhythmic play by a teacher who has decades of music pedagogy experience, then add another equally knowledgeable and talented musician accompanying those children on a grand piano. This excellent class is affordable and meets on Saturday mornings. Instrument lessons are available for children age 3 and up. In addition to a weekly private lesson, there is a weekly group class and a theory class. Children, working a little each day with their parents, progress quickly and can do very impressive things musically. It is not unusual for children as young as 5 or 6 to be proficient music readers. The students love their teachers. It is possible, and not uncommon, for a student to have the same teacher for several years at a time. This long, caring relationship between teacher, student AND the parent, has a way of propelling children to do great things. Children are taught as individuals and the program is paced to each child's needs and abilities. Despite what other posters might have said, this school is the opposite of competitive! There are many special-needs children who are in the program, learning and growing. The spirit of non-competitiveness is actually intrinsic to the method; it was baked-in by Shinichi Suzuki himself and is carefully maintained at the school through ongoing parent and student education. I believe that the eduction my children are receiving at SMID will give a number of skills that will help them throughout their lives. They will probably not be professional musicians, but that is not the goal. The real goals for my children include learning that disciplined practice (work) can bring exciting and valuable skills, that effective collaboration with others is possible and rewarding, and that music can be beautiful and fun. Though a great value in my opinion, this is not the cheapest or easiest of music programs. There are other places where parents can simply drop off their children for instrument lessons and not have to be bothered with anything other that listening to the occasional practice. However, for those families who wish to do something more than "check the box" of getting music lessons for their kid, to instead actively pursue the rewards that a quality music education can give, this is the very best place for them.
