The employees were young and seemed a bit shy, but allowed us to sample some flavors and answered questions we had. I got the black raspberry chip, which was delicious and had chocolate chips throughout. I also got the cherry vanilla, which was tasty as well but I wanted it to have more of the mix ins. We noticed people coming in specifically for that day's specialty, and after trying it ourselves, we completely understand why. I ordered the Salty Shack made with a chocolate custard base, and it was incredible. If you've never had frozen custard, think of it as richer, creamier, and smoother than soft-serve. They blend everything together so every bite is packed with flavor, and the texture is unbelievably velvety. One tip: order the mini! The portions are much bigger than they look, and because the custard is so rich and decadent, the mini was the perfect size for everyone in our family. This quickly became one of our favorite stops on the island.
