Unlike other vets we tried, they didn't try to make us run every test and seems to walk the right line between doing what is right for the dogs health without inflating the bill. The front office is super competent and helpful. They answer the phone and where available to see our pet immediately. They seem to be much more competent than the other vet offices we have been to. Going to the Vet is always a…read morenervous time for both owner and pet but the doctors, the techs and the staff always make the visits comfortable. I have a nervous, not trusting dog that used to need a muzzle when visiting the Doctor - at The Landing, they go out of their way to make your pet is comfortable and relaxed. Coming for Vancouver I was used to 10 minute visits with the Veterinarian... that is so not to case here, they are thorough, informative and gentle. My last visit was 30-40 minutes and my dog did not need her muzzle, she trusted them and was comfortable. I am so happy with the service they provide for my beloved pets. They were very snotty when I said no and left. Took her to a different vet and they did a digital exam and found a massive tumour in her rectum. Still cost less getting a second vet to look at her than a blood panel and x-ray would have.

I had been a Mill Bay Vet. for about 2 years. They were good for keeping on top of vaccinations…read morebut when my cat needed post operative care they refused to see him until the usual post op appointment booked for a week later. After the surgery at WAVES my cat started getting dehydrated due to vomitting and diahrea. It required some anaysis and change in medication I had to go back to WAVES three times and it cost me $6000 because the receptionist at Mill Bay Vet refused to tell the vet and ask for help on my behalf before the prebooked appointment date. After six days of total exhaustion trying to help my kitty, I called another local vet clinic in tears and the receptionist alerted the vet right away and had me come in a moment later. My kitty is now slowly getting better, no thanks to MIll Bay Vet. If you want your pet to get the level of care they need folowing an operation do Not go to Mill Bay Veterinary Hospital. They will just refer you back to the ER Vet Hospital saying their vet is too busy to see an animal in distress on short notice.

Keith/Charlene have always taken my paranoia, appeased it, only done tests as necessary and always been mindful of the worry we owners feel when they are in their care overnight/having an op etc. They have also treated us with compassion many times. Even when I have had to send in my children with one of my dogs,as I am at work, they will give me a heads up via email too of any advice! I hold Central Cowichan Animal Hospital in high regard and I trust their advice explicitly.
