In one session,Joyce provided me more help than all the others combined. One of my very old ( 16+) dogs refused to eat one day. Realizing that this was not normal for him, and knowing his age, and after trying unsuccessfully to reach me, they took him into their home and sat with him. He passed away peacefully in a few hours, in the company of loving humans. After speaking to me, they took him to a local vet and had him cremated and gave me the ashes. It was a hard sad time, and I cannot imagine a better way to end a long life. This is absolutely the best place for a dog to be. The only drawback is that they are so good- and it is not easy to get a space.

They saved her life when she needed an emergency splenectomy, and we were crunched for time to get her pancreatitis under control first...I am forever grateful. My dog means the world to me, and I cannot express my gratitude enough! I have always been pleased with the vet care I have received at various places in town, however many vets in town do not offer 7 day a week service, and I was lucky that GVH were open when we needed to be seen urgently on a Sunday. Also, once stabilized from the pancreatitis, I was so glad to not have to transport my dog to the city to have her spleen-removal surgery, as she was in very fragile condition (due to the spleen-mass membrane being so thin), and I would not have wanted to make the drive with no medical supports for her en route. Dr. Honey and his team were able to perform the surgery locally and had the technology and precautions in place should blood transfusions be required etc. Dr. Honey was incredibly sensitive to my concerns and walked me through the whole process. He made an extremely scary and emotional time bearable, and demonstrated so much compassion. A year and a bit later, I continue to receive comprehensive options for my dog's ongoing care, as various different concerns have come up...as they tend to with middle-aged/ senior dogs. I have confidence that Dr. Honey will share info/options when it can benefit his patients. He has really improved and we are so grateful. As I mentioned to you earlier, I had checked ChatGPTfor his current blood results. After requesting the results from the blood work done in November of 2023 and having ChatGPT analyze that report and compare it to the 2025 report. I am stupefied at your lack of disclosure of the oh,so many issues that Paco exhibited in the earlier report. I am just exceedingly grateful but I must have been doing something right for his kidneys to be in better shape while very ill in this recent blood work. First of all, when he was Ill in 2023 you FAILED to disclose this kidney disease. Not one word. Only now, with this second recent blood work are you telling me that I should put him on a low phosphorus, low sodium diet. And that I should use a product that will prevent him from absorbing phosphorus. This TWO years after the fact that he was worse than he is now. As an animal caregiver I simply cannot wrap my head around such an egregious omission. Then, let's talk about his anemia. When the blood work was done in 2023 what you told me was that the test indicated that his blood was thin and that he had a high white platelet count . Absolutely no mention was made of the word, anemia. I know this because I was dying of severe iron deficient anemia, bleeding internally for 3 years. They didn't know where or why. three years of weekly blood testing, 14 blood transfusions, 7 iron transfusions and surgery. I mention this simply to support the fact that had you even whispered that word in my ear it would have triggered me. We both know that we would have been talking treatment far beyond. giving him some prednisone. A treatment that only now, after two years of it you own up to the fact that it doesn't work very long. Or that long term use can be harmful to the animal. Even though in one of our more recent discussions you told me that you don't believe in giving an animal more medication than is necessary you decided to keep on this medication for what is now over 2 years? For the sake of argument when Paco had this blood test he was clearly very ill, possibly fatally ill. I can understand why you may have thought that mentioning his anemia was nor relevant to the moment. But what about after? When he was recovered? Getting back to the anemia. Lets for the sake of argument say that at the time of November 2023 blood test when Paco was so very ill, possibly fatally, that bringing up any other issues would have been irrelevant. What about after he recovered I then looked up the blood work from December 2022 that was done by Yaletown Veterinary Hospital. The anemia was there even then. It is no wonder they suggested the Chinese herb that helps blood clot. In case his tumour would start to seep. Even the they knew but didn't tell me. But I bought that blood work to you and you never t told me about it even back then. Kidney disease . Now, you think Paco needs to be on a low phosphorus, low sodium diet. Now, now you think he should be on medication to help him not absorb phosphorus. Now, you tell me that his kidney disease is proving IN SPITE of the fact that you never told me that he had kidney disease in the first place. By all that is sensible every other bet I have spoken to confirms that says this program should have been started 2 years ago. At this moment in time I have neither the time nor the inclination to go over all the other revealing information from the results of these three blood tests. We also feel that Dr. Cropper did not truly listen or take our concerns and observations seriously about how extremely stressful it was on our cat to make not one, but numerous visits to the clinic. This lack of consideration may have even been a contributing factor to renal failure in our cat after a routine dental procedure. Dr. Cropper may have been a good veterinarian at one time, but perhaps it is time for him to retire.

After an hours drive we arrived in Squamish. The staff were so understanding and welcoming. Dr Jasdeep Grewal was wonderful, reassuring and I felt very confident to leave Charlee to his care. She was examined, sadated & X-rayed. She had a broken leg. Her leg bone was realigned, splint applied, medication supplied and care instructions given. The bill was very reasonable for which I was very thankful. I have called them twice since for advise and they were very happy to help. I would recommend Alpenloft to everyone, even if you have to drive an hour.

Zero informed care and quite frankly, I receive better care and service advising from my mechanic. I was sent home post-op with no pain killers or meds to help my dogs recovery process and within 5 days of his surgery and 1 evening using the no flap wrap they insisted I put him in even with these gross tubes and sutures in place, he got an infection immediately. I was told there was nothing I could buy from them to help his bleeding sutures heal a bit, clearly they are unaware Otizole exists. I was provided the wrong type of medication for the site of his infection (clavaseptin instead of cefaseptin), and ultimately needed to bring my dog to a vet who actually knows what they're doing for surgical procedures and post-op care. After VVH operated on my dog, I called numerous vets in Vancouver/Burnaby area to talk to them about their hematoma repair process and NONE of them supported the procedure of stitching entirely through my dog's ear nor was it advised to have ever sent me home with zero pain meds or anti-inflammatories, or use a no flap wrap (I was told to buy one and put it on my dog immediately after his surgery) My original review was hidden by VVH likely due to the photos I attached with it which is truly comical considering their management noted surgery procedure was validated. Show the photos and full review if that's the case and stop hiding the work you're so clearly proud of and refuse to reimburse me for despite costing me $1600 in a botched hematoma repair PLUS a second surgery which I paid for at a different vet all together, and additional costs for gauze and a no flap wrap which I was told numerous times to buy and keep on my dog for 30 days. I'm lucky my dog didn't die from their malpractice and overall lack of care in our time of need.

Absolutely appalling service from reception staff at this establishment.
