Hard to believe the breakfast is this good. It's a very experienced joint, you should regret not having some. Lock her up

T-Johnny's!!! First visit by Natchitoches native, now Texan. Came home to down some crawfish &…read moreshrimp. Let me tell you 'bout this stuff. You're not a true Louisianan if you don't crave this cuisine. And sometimes other places that offer it make it too pricey or too spicy or too over-done. Not here! 'Boy howdy,' did this spot get it right & sail the flavor boat around the world without stopping!! Quick & friendly service. Lots of options with a la cart goodness. Seasoning that was JUST RIGHT!! Heat and warmth lasted throughout the meal so mine didn't get cold quickly. Sassy (which tastes buttery and salty) or Swamp (think Yum-Yum) sauces are fine selections to dredge the goods. My goodness, I forgot all about the competition across town at first bite. My crawfish claws and tails were SO fresh and tender I could easily crack it or pull out the meat and suck the umami juices. And when sucking the heads, the clear hint of lemon was there, just slap yo' mama already!! As we sat and ate, car after car after car pulled in and this was mid-afternoon, no lunch rush. People have been getting the memo that this Cajun spot is the place to go. Plus, the shrimp are YYYYUGE!!!! Only down side: not enough places to eat. Just the bar. The stools with no backs are hurting the hiney after an hour-long feeding and a thorough cleaning had to be requested as well as some paper towels/napkins at the minimal bar area to sit and chow. May I suggest more open and spaced seating arrangements could be added? T-Johnny's will be my go-to in Natchitoches in the quadruple parish area & it should be yours too--totally worth it!

Could be very good, but over seasons and oversalts everything fried. This is based on several…read morevisits.

We should have walked out when saw glass door that was so dirty with finger prints and everything else u hardly could see inside. Saw a few takeout orders come in and out so we reluctantly then Ordered food at counter to then be told after sitting down they were out of what I ordered so I had to order something different. Sat down at table which was so sticky my forearms stuck to it, napkin holder on table was so dusty my finger left mark when drug it across it. Place looked like it had never been cleaned or updated in years. Lights above had bugs galore in lightcover, floors/baseboards dirty, fans above on their last leg/blades. Windows also needed cleaning. By then I still wanted to walk out but I needed to see what the food was like. Trying to give benefit of doubt. Service very slow, looked short staffed. Hoping they washed hands at some point no gloves used with server taking orders, collecting money and touching food/cooking in plain view. When food arrived it looked ok until I tasted the coleslaw it was very bad, looked discolored and tasted old needless to say didn't eat it after one bite, my husband spit his out, then came the fried fish, I wasn't impressed no flavor parts of fish was just batter no meat, also the batter didn't stay on onion rings so as soon as u picked them up batter would fall off onion, Hush puppies tasted old not fresh, definitely frozen great value brand or worse. Didn't finish our meal and that's not like my husband he always finishes. Everything tasted same probably fried all in same grease. Still can't believe we stayed and (ate what we could)of the food. I hope they improve if read this, we like to support local businesses that's why we decided to try COUNTRY BOYS but unfortunately we won't be back. I should've read reviews before I went , last review was awhile back not sure what happened ugh

Glad we ate in; I shudder to think what it would've been like if we got it to go. I would go back for the onion rings, but that's about it. Bare but clean ambiance. Could be a great place again, but freshly cooked food is a prerequisite.

The manager came over right away to ask what the issue was. To me, it was obvious--the lettuce had soggy, brown pieces--but I simply explained that I'm very picky about lettuce. She told me it was from a fresh bag that had just been opened, but I decided to switch my side to the rice and gravy instead. I'm glad I did! The rice and gravy was delicious. The gravy was rich, dark brown, thick, and coated the rice perfectly. The steamed vegetables were the only disappointment, as they seemed like they had been microwaved. However, the grilled pork chop, although thin, was seasoned well and cooked perfectly, staying surprisingly juicy. The chicken fried steak was excellent, with crispy fries alongside it. The red beans were decent but nothing particularly memorable. The gumbo was very good, and the potato salad paired with it perfectly. The kids' chicken tenders were outstanding--juicy, well-seasoned, and fried to perfection while still staying moist inside. Overall, this is definitely a restaurant I'd return to. The staff handled my concern professionally, the service was great, and most of the food was excellent. Next time, I'll simply skip the salad.
