No late loud guests or parties, no parking lot problems. Always a pleasant short ride to Mustang Island or over the new bridge to Corpus. Just finished a week stay and looking forward to next visit!

About a week before our stay, I contacted the hotel because I had seen online that they offered grab-and-go breakfast bags and that they were available as early as around 5:30 a.m. Since we had plans that required us to leave early, I specifically asked if the grab-and-go bags would be available around 5:00 a.m. I was told that they would be available if we requested them. I even responded that we would like a grab-and-go bag around 5:00 a.m., and the employee confirmed that was fine. Because I had received that information directly from the hotel, I planned accordingly. When we arrived and checked in, I made sure to request the grab-and-go bags again so there would be no confusion the next morning. I was once again told that it was fine. Then, the next morning, when I went down to get breakfast, I was told by a man at the breakfast area that the grab-and-go bags were not available until 7:00 a.m. This was extremely frustrating and inconvenient. I had specifically contacted the hotel in advance, asked a very direct question about the early breakfast, received an answer, and then confirmed the request again when we arrived. If I had been told from the beginning that breakfast or the grab-and-go bags would not be available until 7:00 a.m., I could have prepared for that. Instead, I relied on the information provided by the hotel and ended up without breakfast when I needed it. Things happen and I understand that schedules can change, but there should have been communication about that change. What makes this especially frustrating is that I didn't just assume the bags would be available--I went out of my way to ask ahead of time and then confirmed it again at check-in. The room and our overall stay had some positives, but this experience was genuinely disappointing. If a guest takes the time to call ahead and confirm something as important as early breakfast availability, the information given should be accurate. At the very least, if the information changes, the guest should be notified. I would have gladly made other arrangements if I had been given the correct information. Instead, I was left having to wait much longer for food because I trusted what the hotel staff had told me. That was an unnecessary inconvenience and definitely affected my experience with the hotel.

To start, driving up to the parking lot, I was confused, I thought I was driving up to an abandon building. The landscaping was inexistent, grass was tall and overgrown, the outside of the building's walls were full of mildew and rust, there was a rusty broken light pole laying in the parking lot, then I saw where it came from and there were exposed wires hanging out. I tried to look past it and figured it would get better. Well upon checking in I was charged $20 per day for a total of $40 for incidentals on top of the amount due. Nowhere on the website did it state this. I can understand maybe $10 a day but $20. Then when we got into our room, it smelled musty, there was hairs on the bed, the comforter had like a blood stain on it, lightbulb missing from one of the lamps, the room just didn't feel clean. For my kids sake, I didn't say anything. That evening we went to the pool for a while, that was another health hazard. Pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while, the chair used to help disabled people in the pool was broken with exposed circuits on the controls, some sort of pipe sticking out of the ground with wires hanging out of it by the pool, the picnic area was trashy and weeds growing everywhere. When we tried to go back inside, our card key did not work to get back in either of the two doors. We had to knock and get the desk clerks attention to let us in. Then he tells us, oh yes the doors do not work. So that was day one, on the second day we went for the hot breakfast which was mediocre at best. Coffee was cold, juices were warm, food was meh. When returning to our room our key did not work to get back in. I had to go twice to the desk to get the keys reactivated. Last but not least, the ice machines on the first floor are not working, the stair wells and hallways are very dirty. Now for the icing on the cake, at check out I was charged another $40 instead of giving me my original $40 I was charged for incidentals.

She said I would've had to cancel my stay on Expedia 24hrs before the night of the reservation. The two nights I stayed they never had continental breakfast, not even coffee. I paid $319 for the two nights for a $41 a night hotel. They definitely used spring break as an advantage. The management is horrible, they have done nothing to fix the situation. They don't want to own up to their nasty hotel!

The rooms are clean and comfortable with very good air conditioning and heating that's not too noisy to sleep peacefully. Plenty of space to unpack and enough room to sit comfortably. They provide a workout room and a nice pool. Their free breakfast consists of good tasting coffee, orange and other fruit juices, cereal, toast (white and wheat), danishes, make your own waffles, eggs, bacon and sausages, yogurt bagels with butter cream cheese and strawberry and grape jelly. Checking out is easy, last stay i overheard a customer praising the front desk manager for providing a wonderful experience and value! I will always stay here in future trips to the area!

On arrival I only had to show an ID and agree to pay damages if I smoked or made a mess, and to specify whether or not we wanted housekeeping visits and what we wanted them to do. We opted out. Breakfast was surprisingly very good on the first morning, a Tuesday. Weekday hours were limited to 7-9 am, 10 am on weekends. There was lots of variety in hot foods, juices, and yogurt. There was a pancake-wrapped sausage on a stick, 2 varieties of eggs, some very good bacon, tortillas and grated cheese for those wanting breakfast tacos, and other goodies. There were 2 waffle machines and 2 batter flavors. The attendant was very friendly and helpful. I watched her retrieve bottled water for some people and bus others' tables. This was not the usual motel "free breakfast" experience, but something much better. The second morning was not as good. As one example, the pancake-wrapped sausages weren't fully heated, there were no tortillas, and the attendant didn't seem so into her job. The breakfast room is extremely cramped, but there are overflow spaces in the hallway and outdoors. This motel was a good value for us and better than a previous experience at this location. Started looking around more and realized that there were large dead roaches and so many alive little tiny roaches everywhere behind the bed and under the furniture and literally just crawling around everywhere. Asked to be changed to another room. We packed up and walked into the new room directly below the old room, switched on the light and a roach was just crawling across the floor. Shut the door and checked out. Front desk said they hadn't had any complaints about roaches but now reading other reviews I see that this is a problem there. There was no way we could sleep there.
