This business has transferred ownership 3x, the last of which was late 2021 (after my installation). I, unfortunately, never got the pleasure of working with the 2nd owner whose reputation I read about in reviews before making my purchase because the salesman ,Terry, took my deposit 11 days after that owner had died from Covid w/o divulging that the owner had just died (!) placing me in a precarious position where my contracted 3-year labor warranty may not have a company to uphold it. I'm not sure (a mere 11 days after the Owner died) if the will had even been read identifying wether the deceased owner left the company to someone or not: and yet they took my deposit without letting me know this very pertinent information, knowing full well ONE possibility is the business would close and the 3-year labor warranty I thought I was getting would be worthless. During my installation the estate was in probate, the wife/girlfriend the co was left to was looking for a buyer, and the 1st owner was suing for an unpaid debt (which the clerk of courts lists as still pending). The legalities of selling me this contract without divulging all this I am uncertain of but it feels VERY unethical. Jason and his crew (the installers) were nice and capable guys... however things happen on a big construction job like this, and on my job this included: 1. They cut the frame of my living room slider (the door that will get the most use) and it's my now understanding that this likely voided my Manufacturer's warranty. I haven't pursued any resolve because I figured I have a 3-year warranty on labor and should a situation arise that the manufacturer's warranty becomes an issue Gulfstream will have to resolve since they cut the frame. 2. First rain a door above my garage leaked badly. I called Jason who was still with the company and he came out and painted the frame with Elastomeric the next day... I'm not sure if that is a bandaid for the real problem or a permanent solution, time will tell. BUT I was left with the damage to my garage ceiling to take care of. 3. They scheduled the inspection for a Friday morning, first thing, when as of Wednesday afternoon, I had 1/3 of my windows/doors to still go in. Jason and crew showed up Thursday with extra help and it was 8 hours of extreme chaos (the door that leaked was installed on this day). In the process of trying to wrap up what should have been 2+ more days of work my screen DOOR HANDLES were apparently discarded, as well as another part (bumper). The inspector that comes out is not going to run a hose on your windows/doors, inspect cosmetic finishings, or look for door handles.... and given the crew didn't leave Thursday until it had gotten dark and the inspector showed up first thing Friday morning I didn't have time to do a thorough inspection and realize these things (and on passing inspection you provide the final 10% of monies owed). 4. New concrete under sliders cracked/crumbled, Jason said he would fix it when the door handles/bumper came in. 5. Felt fell off the slider, Jason said he would fix it when the door handles/bumper came in. So now, going into FIVE MONTHS since my project finished I still do not have my door handles, bumper or these small things resolved. On NOVEMBER 16 I emailed the office inquiring about these items and was informed Jason no longer works with the company and they had no idea I had this punch list. They reorder the handles, they come in, but I have to reach out to them again on December 8th asking if they've come in and I am told they did, and they will send someone THAT DAY to install them and unfortunately, like most people with lives, I could not make myself available with a 2 hour same day notice. I kindly explained I wouldn't be available today, but let's get me on the schedule for next week. Every inquiry since that day has resulted in "Sorry we are busy" or "I have to talk to the new owner" and "If you remember I offered to install them in December" Finally I was scheduled for 1/27 which came and went without so much as a call, an email, etc., saying they couldn't make it. To this day I haven't heard from them and I am done chasing them.... That being said, I have waited a long time to write my review on this experience which *could* have been a positive review had my warranty been honored as it is really all I worried about since finding out I was sold a contract by a dead man's business. But 5 months after they have all my money I don't have things I paid and contracted for and there seems to be little to no interest in upholding the 3-year warranty of a previous sale. read more

John the husband is very dedicated to seeing jobs through, he is an excellent installer and makes sure customers are happy! He calls when he is on his way or if he is running late! Carol, the wife, is very knowledgeable on the products they sell, so much to windows that I didn't even know existed until I saw her do an estimate at my neighbors place! She spent over an hour talking through the different designs and hearing what the homeowner wanted and helped guide them to the best decision for their home. 10/10 company! 2 stars but leaning towards 1. It has been over a year an my job hasn't been completed. An estimate gets done relatively quickly and then the waiting begins. Numerous visits (closing in on 10), each time by a different installer, where the work doesn't get completed because there is no continuity or hand over. Significant waste of time since you have to be there to let them work in the house: - no ladder (really) - no photos for the inspection - incorrect siding for the screw covers - incorrect front door ordered and delivered I had never experienced this lack of coordination and poor performance. Not worth considering even if at a more competitive price. If you plan for impact windows installed by Gulfstream, plan way ahead, because hurricane season will come and go (and again) before you it gets completed. read more

After more than 3 months to complete the job, trying to charge about 20% more somewhere along that period, leaving my patio door opening with just a plastic cover for 2 weeks, damage patio lawn and floor tiles without paying to repair it or replace them, changing sub contractor in the middle the job and finding a few moths after thru the manufacturer's technician that there are problems with the installation I could honestly say this is the worse company I have dealt with. After several weeks of delay in delivery by the PGT manufacturer, we had over $15,000 worth of PGT sliding glass doors installed by Gulfstream in our condo not knowing that they DO NOT BLOCK SOUND if you are facing the ocean and above the first floor. Sound travels up the building and the ocean and wind can be very loud at night. We cannot sleep well and are searching for a sound absorbing curtain or panels to entirely cover the bedroom sliding glass doors so we can sleep. In the meantime, we have inserted several rows of tubular foam inside the tracks and all along the gaps in the framing where sound enters. WE ARE SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THE AMOUNT OF SOUND THAT ENTERS THROUGH THE METAL FRAMING AND THE GLASS. Not only is the sound a problem but the holes in the bottom of the tracks allow sand,dirt and water to enter our unit. The holes also create a loud wind blowing sound on windy nights. When we asked why there are holes throughout the track, the Gulf Stream distributor said PGT makes them that way. If you want to keep water, sand and sound out of your condo, find another sliding glass door/window manufacturer. We wasted over $15,000 of our money!!! read more

This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. Originally, I was told that my windows would be available for installation in mid October 2014, so I scheduled a flight to Florida for Halloween. Days before the scheduled installation, they called to say that the factory was behind in production, but that they would be able to do the work on the Thursday and Friday of the following week once I told them that I was in town until Saturday. Rather than staying with the promised timeline, they chose to send the installers to finish another job and didn't show up at my place until Friday, November 7th. They said the job would take two days and it took four days (for two bedrooms, a small kitchen and one sliding glass door) requiring me to schedule a second trip back down to Florida for them to complete the work. They left my entire apartment covered in dust since they failed to protect their work with plastic sheets while working in the kitchen, living room and guest bedroom. In addition, they blew out one of my wall electrical outlets by having so many pieces of equipment plugged into the same outlet (power drill, radio, fan, etc.). I had to pay for an electrician to repair it. To top it off, the original job did not pass inspection since many of the window screws were not installed. I had to have them come back to finish the job and the inspector come back again to sign off on it. They also lost the original vertical piece that the screen door attaches to so that it doesn't slide aimlessly back and forth along the track. The first installer didn't even know what was supposed to be there but the second installer said the piece was left at their warehouse (which of course was closed by then). The company was supposed to come back with the missing piece in March 2015, but now claim that the appropriate hardware was never provided by the manufacturer. Out of frustration, my husband and I enclosed our entire balcony for $600 since we were not convinced that they would ever complete the screen door installation. Now they are insisting that I pay the final $600 on the $14,000 job despite the numerous additional expenses I have incurred from their delays. Do not use this company unless you are willing to endure countless delays and atrocious customer service!! read more

Carol worked tirelessly to create a look for my home that I would love and I do love the final product. I was able to choose from many manufactures to get the desired outcome that I had wanted. Carol worked within my budget and the end result was a topnotch product and look for my house. The installation was without a hitch and the installers were meticulous. The staff was responsive and available every step of the way. WOW! I have rarely dealt with companies that truly are incompetent but it seems this is it. After scheduling two separate times with them I waited over two hours EACH TIME and no one showed. I have now had them twice come out to fix the same issue. Each time I call they acted as though my appointment time was "flexible" and they weren't sure if or when they could make it. NO apologies! Even worse...when they claimed the issue was fixed my heavy hurricane proof window slammed back down and nearly got my finger caught. When calling to reschedule they made as though it was not a problem and I was just having some difficulties. When the service man came out to fix it he claimed Tammy, their receptionist, said "customers often exaggerate." WOW! JUST WOW! While I should be taking further action I figured I would write this review and share wherever I could so as to warn anyone looking for a competent company to look elsewhere. I heard this company back in the winter of 2016 to provide windows for my remodel Home and Lighthouse Point. They gave me a bid that I thought was fair and I signed a contract with them. They ordered the windows. I've been amended the contract by adding sliding glass doors. They came and did the work in February and March 2017. When I called him back for warranty work they showed up, we went over worth need to be done, and they did some of it but never finished. Then as the months track done they never got around to coming back and doing the final inspections for the work. I called them and call them and they kept telling me that they couldn't do inspections until my sheet rock was done on my remodel. I talk to the city of Lighthouse Point that turned out not to be true at all, You can get inspections on windows without sheet rock being done all day long. Then these people Gulfstream tell me that they never got a permit for the extra work for doing the sliding glass doors and that that was my responsibility. That's ridiculous because I paid them in the original contract for permits. It has now been 10 months since they finish the work and I still haven't gotten the permit start on the windows and, I forgot to mention they also did my garage door, and never got that inspected. These people are horrible, my advice is stay away from Gulfstream Windows read more
