A lovely place I stumbled upon when planning a trip and a perfect place for a lunch stop. If I had…read moreonly known the next destination was rainy I would have stayed longer. A bargain of a spot for $3 a day as there is a great beach, kayak rentals, changing facilities all on the beautiful Saginaw bay. We saw jet skis and a lot of boat trailers so there must be a launch nearby. There was also campers and tents with people enjoying a pure Michigan day.

The park requires a $3 day use pass. The day before we visited Bay City State Park's beach and it was crowded, noisy, a further walk from the parking lot, and the recreation pass was $9. Plus the water at Pinconning Park is clear while the other beach was murky and algae filled. Both were fine but Pinconning is better.

I made the unfortunate decision to reserve site #16 at this park. It was listed as E/W/S. There…read moreis no sewer hookup on site #16. What they did was put a "Y" pvc fitting on the sewer hookup on site #18 and wallah, a new sewer port. The problem being it's 50 - 60 feet from your rig when backed in properly on site #16, let alone you would need to jack your trailer up a good foot to get enough downhill slope of your sewer hose. Besides that, who carries 50 - 60 feet of sewer hose unless you are a long-term seasonal. This is not an over site by the park as it has been this way for a number of years according to a seasonal resident. It is wrong to list and charge for a sewer hookup for site #16.

Cleanest I have ever seen in a park. Staff was friendly. And they have a bench swing overlooking a peaceful spot of the river. Lovely! The fact that it's right downtown is completely hidden.

The canopy walk just blew us away. I love the hammock area where you can sit suspended above the ground, that was my favorite. It was so unique and interesting as were the other areas they had to climb into. Besides the beauty that surrounded us everywhere. The thing that really stuck out to us was how well the whole area was taken care of. The gating was clean, no spiders or cobweb's hanging anywhere, as is the case most places. And for someone who hates spiders. I can't tell you how much it's appreciated. If you are looking for pricing. It's $10 a person $2 for students. Or $20 a year per person. We had purchased a day ticket. But after 10 minutes knew that we had to change that. So before we left we went and purchased the year passes!! This also includes the Dow Gardens

You have to hit over a large tree to get to the fairway. It reminded me of the windmill hole at the local putt-putt course. Would line tonplay the other two nine's in the future.

First, let me say that the Midland Community Center offers a very large range of activities...two…read morepools (lap pool and a large family pool), basketball courts, weight room, racquetball courts...there is definitely a lot to do at the MCC. However, in the past few years they have made visiting completely cost-prohibitive. Do you like to swim to stay in shape? It will cost you $40 a month...and the pool is only open for a few select hours each day for open swim (seriously...go look at their schedule and try to figure out when you can and cannot swim). That, and their lap pool only has 5 lanes, and there were multiple occasions where I had to share lanes with up to 4 people at a time. What if you just want to drop in and run around the track? $7 A DAY. You do get access to their weight room, too, but for $3 more you could just get a MONTHLY membership at Planet Fitness. All membership plans also require an "auto-draft joining fee" of about $100. So, if money isn't an issue and you like to stay in shape, definitely check this place out. However, if you're working with a tight budget, try one of the other gyms in the area, because MCC is one of the most expensive ways to stay in shape in the area, and there are better options out there for far less money

Entering the check-in area is like walking into the lobby of a luxury resort. There are several booths with clerks ready to register you, and of course a wide selection of merchandise you might want to check out if you forgot some essential for your trip, like sun block or a waterproof phone case. Once registered, we were assigned a bus boarding area and got ready to ride to the put-in site. The trip was short and we were soon turned loose on the river. We took the 4-6 hour trip and finished in just about 5, with only a short lunch stop. The river was very pleasant, slow with occasional riffle areas where we picked up some speed, and not to many rocks or logjams to navigate around. Quiet and solitude? Well, no. If you're making this trip on a hot summer Saturday, expect to be in the company of several other parties during the length of your trip. One offered us a jello shot, which we passed on, though thirty years ago that would have been tempting. Not much chance of missing your take out, which is back at the campground, which takes up a large stretch of the riverback before you hit the actual landing. Once there, you just hand your tube/boat to an attendant and walk back to your car. I probably wouldn't choose to camp here--the campground is large and not shaded in many parts. Lot of potential for it to get loud. But for canoeing or tubing, a top-notch rental operation.

They have water and…read moreelectrical at the campsite for a reasonable price and there is plumbed restrooms and showers that are walking distance. They maintain the facilities and always clean. It's really nice to have a campsite along the river and really nice they shuttle you to the starting point and provide usually good quality tubes and also offer tubes for your cooler if you pay per cooler tube.
