    Island salad
    Martha S.

Was in town visiting family and a family member recommended this place. We tried the Creole ciabatta and Island salad and they were delicious!! I had the cucumber lemonade and it was so tasty and refreshing! The lady that took my order was very nice and sweet. Will be visiting again when I'm in town.

No. SMALL salad went $5 to $8. How? Food is equally as good as anything you'd expect from a deli. These steep price increases are Not Reciprocated fairly through their food, service nor location. I'd gladly pay this again for a better experience. C'mon it's practically lettuce.

I had the vegetarian ciabatta with the lentil soup. Love love love the soup. It tasted just the way my mom makes it

My fiancé had the creole sandwich and he loved it. I've tried it before and it was delish along with the sauce even the drinks are good. It's my second time here. I ate at the pollito chicken the second time and that was delicious as well definitely going back. Came back but this time I had the vegetarian ciabatta when I realized I love meat lol... the lentil soup was delicious I can order that every time.

Gumbo's Deli is one of my favorite places to go when I want a feel a bit more healthy and a bit more supportive for local businesses. I always order the Creole ciabatta sandwich, along with their island salad, which comes with goat cheese, strawberries, mangos, glazed pecans, dried cranberries and much more. The interior is very clean and is actually shared with a another restaurant called Pollito. What I love most about Gumbo'a deli is their infused water. The cucumber infused water is DELICIOUS and I recommend it. I feel that the menu items are a bit more in the pricier side for what it is; but, this is a local restaurant so I let the price slide. Overall, I love this restaurant and I very much recommend visiting here!

I tried this place out based on its reviews/pictures and I wanted a clean meal. The deli was just okay. Food came out in a timely manner and good pricing. $10 for my meal. I ordered the Island Salad with chicken. The salad was okay but the chicken tasted bland. I also ordered the detox drink. It was also just okay. I more than likely will not go back. I was a little disappointed. The food looked better than it tasted.

Have a great selection of salads for a reasonable price in full and half size.

This is a great little place to get healthy food for a reasonable price. They've got a great selection of salads and juice drinks. I had their detox drink. mext time I'm going to ask for a little more Ginger so it has more kick. Excellent value. See the pictures of the menu.

    Juice was awesome.

Loved it my wife and I had the sandwich, salad and drink special. A very good price. We enjoyed the salad , salad dressing (unique). The drinks and a juice. The meal was super good the juice was good. The drinks are juice like. You can also get frozen yogurt for desert. Theres a full service frozen yogurt bar. Awesome food and you cannot beat the price.

Reasonably quick, healthy food. It feels a bit like a cafeteria, but was clean and comfortable.

Their main food are - you guessed it - Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches - but with a twist. We tried the A-1 Philly which had beef, bacon, grilled onions and provolone cheese with A-1 sauce. For this one we opted for fries in a cup which are fries with bacon and melted cheese whiz in a cup. The bread for the sandwich was fresh. The combo of the flavors was really good. I'm not a big A-1 fan because it can really overpower everything it goes on, but with this one, it was just enough to give it the subtle flavor but not overpowering. Very good. The beef was soft, flavorful and moist. The fries - I was skeptical when I heard 'cheese whiz' but I was pleasantly surprised - very good. We also tried the South Texas Philly which had beef, bacon, grilled onions, green peppers, tomato, lettuce and provolone cheese. I opted to leave the mushrooms off. It was also a really good sandwich with good flavors. I order the 'regular' fries and they were that - hand it fries - prepared well. In hindsight - I'd order the fries in a cup. I was very pleased with our food. The dessert menu is extensive and their specialty is a milkshake/dessert combo. The milkshake comes in a Mason jar and then the dessert is literally on top of it. I've never seen anything like it - the presentation was amazing. We shared a Nutti Salty Shake which was essentially a chocolate shake with pretzels, a brownie and Nutella. The top outside of the cup was lined with Nutella and pretzel pieces. The brownie was tasty - the shake great - it was just a super awesome combo dessert. We would absolutely come back here!!

During my time away, I found this bagel shop near my campus and so I went. I found a way to wake up early despite hating mornings with the help of a friend. We went together and tried their bagels and I guess that memory, that taste, that connection never really went away. One night in 2022, after failing to get some sleep, I searched up "bagels near me", just like that, without any other thought put into it. I guess really what I was trying to find was ways to go back to those years that had left me already. One single search gave me a list of different restaurants but not one that actually had bagels to choose from and try. I kept searching until I read "Labyrinth BCA" and there I found what I was looking for. I went the next day, filled with hope and hunger. I parked my car towards the back of their establishment and thought I had arrived during their busy hours because the place was busy and buzzing- both good things in my head. As I walked in I immediately noticed all the colorful stickers painted on one side of the wall and these large mirrors that stood tall and mighty. The plethora of windows invited the sun in to take a peek at the people inside. I loved the look and I liked that it aimed to make you feel cozy and at home. I went up to order and was met with a young man and there we began chatting about the coffees offered. I hadn't gone for the coffee but it was there and I was curious. I told him it was my first time there and how hesitant I was to try new coffee places because I had been to many and had never found a coffee I enjoyed. Despite the busy restaurant, the man took his time to help me decide on what to order. I mentioned I leaned more towards sweeter coffees so he brought up their famous "dirty taro". I asked what it tasted like and he replied with "fruit loop milk", his honest answer not only made me smile but it led me to get out of my comfort zone and try it. I paid for my dirty taro and my turkey and egg bagel. Both amazing choices. The bagel originally comes with chipotle mayo but I substituted it for cream cheese. The combination of flavors were amazing. The dirty taro tasted exactly like he said and I wondered how long it took him to find the perfect way to describe a drink to someone who had never tried it. The drink was wonderful too. I thought back to the bagel shop from my college that was a thousand miles away from where I sat now. I thought about how nostalgia can dress like a friend and sit with you in the new places you find around the RGV. Now, I come here every chance I get and usually always try to bring a friend or a relative. I tell them about the breakfast and lunch bagels, I tell them about how cool and inviting this place is, I tell them about the owner of the place and how kind he was during my first stop here, I tell them about the taro latte and how you really can't find it anywhere else. I tell them about how special some places can be and what they can make you feel.

You can also add taro which adds a hint of sweetness that's just as delicious. Service is always great. The employees are kind , quick and attentive. The place is kind of small but its very cute with nice paintings and decorations on the walls. 10/10 recommend.
