Such a variety of items in their menu. The prices are really outside my budget range but on a special occasion I do visit. Last time I had a bowl of chili with my sandwich. It was excellent. Under usual circumstances the chili is a meal in itself. Great consistency with the selection and service. You can't go wrong with anything they serve. Our food was delicious and absolutely love all the Beatles memorabilia.

For the most part the food is usually on point. The Rueben is delish, sauce and sauerkraut ratio is always great. The only issues is sometimes the meat is warm/hot and sometimes it's cold... The fries are another item that is hit or miss. Some times they are way too oily, but they are hot. Then @ other times they are perfectly hot and crispy. So again, they're a hit or miss. Yet I still order them every time :D. Grilled cheeses Sammie's are great, philly's are great and potatoes salad is nice and soft. Hubby loves the chicken tortilla soup. The owner is cordial and will visit tables from time to time. Staff is always friendly. read more

This sandwich shop is PHENOMENAL! I just moved here and have been craving NY style pizza. During my search I came across The New York Deli. While not pizza I was intrigued and tried them for lunch one day, and they were packed! That's always a good sign. I ended up playing it safe and got the French dip, that bad boy was probably the best sandwich I have ever had (and I'm a sandwich girly). While I 110% recommend them, they are a bit expensive for my budget. The cost was ~$18 for a sandwich, chips, and canned coke, so I haven't been back, but I do plan to come back! They're absolutely worth the price, just not something I can do frequently in this economy. This is the perfect spot if you're looking to treat yourself or want a perfectly executed sandwich and I highly recommend these guys! read more

I have ALWAYS had great service and great food at this place! It's Beetles theme is kind of kitchy, but you don't go there for the decor. The owner is amazing and super friendly. If your order isn't right, they fix it on the spot, but it's so rare that someone is unhappy. The buffalo burger is tasty (for a bit of a splurge), the bean soup is amazing and no matter how full I am, I get it to go! Speaking of "to go", they make sure everything is packaged well and leak proof. Seriously! The soup is wrapped in plastic wrap around the Styrofoam. As a side, this also helps keep it warm. I'm a repeat customer and go there at least once a month and have never been disappointed. You wont be either, because again ... They'll make it right! read more

We walked in and were enveloped in this really interesting space full of Beatles memorabilia, red and white checker table clothes and a low hum from the patrons. Everyone seemed content with the light music playing in the background. Delicious smells wafted through as we were seated by a very kind staff member, providing us menus. The menu was almost overwhelming with choices. I ordered a cheeseburger and wifey ordered the corned beef Reuben. While waiting, the staff brought out several squeeze bottles of condiments. The food followed quickly and was lava hot! The burger was moist and perfectly cooked. The fries crispy and looked freshly cut. Wife loved her Reuben so much , at one point I looked over and asked how she was doing, she says "quite honey, I am having an orgasm" ... oh oh . It was that good. One of my favorite places in McAllen! They recently added a few new sandwiches so even if you're a regular (like we are), there are always new exciting things to try here. I recently got the Dove Ave Delight which has a spicy twist to it and is fabulous. They always have amazing specials too but help if you can't decide what you want. The service is always fabulous here. They're always on top of everything, are so friendly and remember who you are too! This was my first time coming here and I was not disappointed! The service was great! Everyone was very welcoming. The space is small but we were able to snag a table for two upon walking in. We didn't have a specific waiter but that was ok because everyone that came up to our table was really nice. I ordered the Carnegie which was Pastrami, melted Swiss and spicy mustard on rye bread. The meat was delicious and the bread was toasted to perfection. I upgraded to fries (3.75 I believe) and the were so good! I love fresh cut fries. Their fresh squeezed lemonade was so refreshing. Someone brought by their homemade Russian dressing and the spicy version was tasty and had great heat to it. The overall space reminded me of some of the deli spots you'd find in New York, which I thought was a nice touch. I didn't see the space upstairs but I highly recommend getting there early if you have a larger group. Other than that I think this spot is perfect for a quick bite because we didn't have to wait long at all for our food to come out. I can't wait to go back and try something new! If your looking for a super good sandwich you have come to the right place. I've been here soo many times and their food is great all the time. The owner is so nice. He recognizes his regulars, he always stops buy to ask how everything is going, overall he's and super nice friendly man. The waiters are always attentive and despite them getting super busy around lunch time they handle the rush really well. The Philly cheese Steak Sandwich is a favorite of mine with the fries. This sandwich has never disappointed me. Don't forget to add Spicy Russian Dressing by on the fries and sandwich... it's really tasty. The chili is super good but I do have to say I love going when they have their Chicken Tortilla Soup that is by far my favorite soup that they have with potato coming in second. The atmosphere is nice and friendly and I love the decor (The Beetles and the Cowboys) of the place. You don't really see this at other restaurants. Overall it's a 12/10 experience. Incredible experience from the minute you enter the front door! I loved the Beatles decor and music. I ordered "The Vinnie" and was immediately certain I had made the correct choice by the confirmation of our waiter. Everything was excellent from the pastrami to the potato salad and fresh cut french fries. Don't forget dessert- the chocolate mousse cake with vanilla bean ice cream was delicious as was the strawberry cheesecake. Hands down my favorite place to eat in RGV and probably all of Texas. As someone who is from Seattle and visited New York a few times, this place is as authentic and delicious as it gets. Their pastrami and corn beef sandwich called "The King" has got to me the best sandwich I've ever had. I've probably ordered it at least ten times over the last year and it hits the spot every time. I order this everywhere so it's my litmus test. The bread was crunchy and buttery. The tuna salad was just how I liked it. It was hot and served with cheddar cheese. We've been going to NY Deli in Harlingen (there's other locations not affiliated) for a few years now. We've enjoyed their food for the most part. Probably a year ago, we began to notice their lack of attention to cleanliness. The same worn plastic table cloths, salt/pepper shakers absolutely filthy. We are both extremely experienced in the service industry, to include culinary trades and establishments. Why does a clean front-of-the-house matter? If it's disgusting in the front, how do you think the back-of-the-house looks like? We went for the first time in over a year, last week. Again, we really enjoy their food. Table cloths were new. I decided to get the California steak sandwich, it was absolutely delicious with that spicy Russian dressing, perfect match! My only complaint is that though the fries were delicious, there were some in the tray that look and tasted as if they were from a old batch or sitting there too long. My friends and I stopped by this establishment for lunch. When you walk in you're greeted by Beatles music and the walls covered in Beatles paraphernalia. When you walk in the staff immediately greets you. The whole time the staff was very interactive and checked on us a lot. I had the grilled Turkey sandwich with fries. The sandwhich itself was amazing, turkey was cooked freak and mixed well with the toasted bread. Great flavor. The fries weren't really anything to wrote home about.
