I've shot at Gun Craft a couple times and it is by far the best outdoor range in the Hillsborough County area. There are three different sheds/stalls you do your business in. This review is to respond to "Bonnie S". Your response to my previous review is completely inaccurate and inappropriate. I had explained to your "range officer" that I was a new shooter. All I did was ask to be moved to a different part of the range so I was not directly next to someone else. A perfectly reasonable request from a new female shooter. He became angry at my request and told me to leave. I was in absolute disbelief! Your point about me not understanding him is a blatant lie trying to undermine my experience and opinion. Even if that were the case, why not take the time to make sure someone new does understand the rules instead of being obnoxious about it? Also, considering multiple people on Yelp have said the same thing as I do, that your business tolerates staff being rude to customers, maybe you should look at your staff instead of blaming new customers. Most ranges I've been to go out of their way to make new female shooters feel welcomed. Sadly, not so of your range. Your range and "range officers" were hostile and i can only attribute that to misogynist views. His hostile behavior and reaction towards a new female shooter were completely inexcusable. I don't experience that anywhere else. And I will also point out that here on Yelp there are far more honest reviews about the attitude of your range officers and staff. The ratings on Yelp are more accurate and reflect the poor experience dealing with rude people at your business that I also had there. Friendly and courteous staff, phone etiquette is fantastic. Very nice and friendly woman called to notify me of an FFL transfer with no issues at all, pleasantly surprised as this seemed like a difficult process. They make it so easy. They are up to date with technology for customer service. So no actual paperwork to fill out it's all digital. They do double check all data and information which is comforting to know things will go smoothly. The shooting range went okay, I didn't have the bad experience like others have reviewed on previously. Understand this is a stressful responsibility to make sure no one gets hurt. So yes they will seem confrontational if they feel your a danger to yourself and others around you. Don't act like an adolescent and you won't be treated like one. I was able to get some lead out and it was so much fun! They keep the range clean constantly and everyone is considerate of one another's shooting experience. I will make more visits as I signed up for a year long membership. read more

Run well. The ROs are watching but you never feel crowded. The staff is outstanding. May be the best run range in the area. I regularly see fathers shooting with young daughters and sons or with wives. A truly family-centric experience. read more

Great local range! Employees were knowledgeable, helpful, and offered assistance to a friend who was having a gun jam frequently, he was quick to spot the problem and correct it. They offer a gun cleaning service which another friend left a gun to be cleaned by them for a great price and turn around time! This place is awful, you pay membership fees to be able to shoot at a nicer place only to be told you are " less top tier" than those who shoot for 5.11, come to find out they were store associates that work retail with 10 of palmetto states best riffles. Also if you try to rent a bay, prepared to be told "No I can't do that" because others are first even though they never have paid to rent it, your money is only green if you wear a " Wakanda shooting team shirt " and wear a 47 dollar Kevlar vest with side armor. I didn't feel welcomed the first time I went there. The girl working inside was very blunt and cold, not one smile. For having to pay to be a member and pay every time you shoot they are over priced for the range you get. The rifle range only goes out to 100m and you can only shoot on it on Mondays and that's only if you've made an appointment prior. They're just too uptight, she even told me they don't allow any rapid fire on their range. Unbelievable, as if no one can handle their weapon doing that. If they want to control people as if they're kids they can just let their own kids shoot there and spank them when they break their silly rules. read more

This is an outdoor range and I have belonged to "the club" two years. It is convenient for me but I do not think I will renew. They will not even allow you to use targets brought in with you. You have to pay $1.00 for 3 targets that are just plain black and white bulls eye targets. They warn you if you use your own targets they will tell you to leave! I think I will drive a little farther and join a more friendly shooting range. Better to pay $15 once in awhile then to pay $35 to join and then $10 every time you go and then have to worry about getting kicked out! read more

From the front desk to the range officer they are beyond rude. I had two new shooters with me last time and they don't ever wanna go back now Because of the experience. Everything from their website to their range sucks. Let me explain. The website looks like it was born out of the 'dot com' Era and doesn't offer much. When I called to confirm hours of operation, the old guy on the phone was pretty short with me and generally not very nice. Don't expect much of a store as they don't really sell anything, to include reloading supplies. The 100 yard range is only open once a week and looks like someone with a backhoe built it in an hour. For how much they charge you for range or membership fees, you expect a lot more. Or you would at least expect decent customer service, but alas, the old folks there are mean and unhelpful. I will drive further and even pay more to avoid their lame excuse for a club. read more

Ive shot at a few dozen ranges over the years. I find this range to provide more freedom than most. Some ranges are under CONSTANT supervision which makes me feel uneasy. They provide a reasonable amount of oversight & yes do have some rules. But where do you go and they don't? No shooting range near a major city will not have these regulations. Overall, if you just want to put some rounds down range and be left alone. I suggest Gun Craft. read more

I don't understand the past complaints that you can't bring in your own targets....I've been going to Gun Craft for 2 years and have always brought my own targets and most everyone else I see there does too. Elton P your review just doesn't make any sense. I've found Allie at the counter and the gunsmith to be very helpful and always fun to chat with. This range is small bare bones but clean and never over crowded. My neighbor bring his kids and they shoot and none of us have ever had a problem. I would rather shoot outside at a place like this than some over crowded indoor range any day. read more
