This may be a weird tourist thing to do but we tried guns. I have never fired a gun or really held a gun before and my bf was curious to try. I found the staff here excellent. They gave me a gun 101, including how to hold it, load it , how shoot and aim. Also where the safety was, where to point in even when it was not loaded along with other things. Also told us a bit about different guns. I think it is really hard to remember all the rules. They also watched that I remembered the ear protection before going into the shooting room, which I appreciated as it was so loud. We tried a .22 which was a lot different than what I expected. A lot lighter and it really fired without moving in my hand much. Then we tried a 9mm. That one was harder to load and fire. We bought one box of bullets for each so we each fired both guns 25 times. I would not say I enjoyed the experience of trying guns. I found it stressful and was quite nervous loading and firing. I also jumped when other people fired, just about every time others fired. It was the first time I was around guns firing that was not on tv. I will say it was very educational and by the time I was done I could hit the target ( we selected the largest one) with each shot. I am glad we went but don't think I will do this again. If I was going to I would go to this place as they really went out of this way to make it the best for me that they could. Very unfriendly and unscrupulous management at this range. Last week I visited Gun Gallery on Beach Blvd. Worked with a very nice young man to purchase an additional clip for my .22 Mark IV pistol. We found one on the shelf that stated it was for a .22 Mark IV pistol. The clerk rang up the sale ($29.99) and said he put the receipt and clip in the bag. Got home and retrieved the clip from the bag but it did not fit my .22 Mark IV pistol. Today I returned to the Gun Gallery to exchange the clip for a correct one. Couldn't find the receipt in the bag and the Manager said "Sorry there is nothing I can do for you without a receipt"....his words! Even though the package had not been opened or damaged in any way and could easily be placed back on the shelf for future sale. The package had their very familiar red price tag on it and was identical to others on the shelf. I even had the original clerk (now standing right beside this manager) attest that he sold the clip to me just 3 days ago. Didn't matter to this manager...he held tight to no receipt no service! I guess this Manager would rather risk any future business from me or the shooting club I belong to (who by the way go to this range at least 1-2 times every two to three weeks) all for a $29.95 exchange or return or store credit. Just a buyer beware warning about this place. Now on to my credit card company to file a chargeback against this company! read more

At the moment I can't give Gun Gallery the high rating they garnered in the past due to recent interactions at the store and range. To be fair to gun stores, the clientele they deal can be idiotic, aggressive, insane, and reckless. So it was a testament to Gun Gallery that up until a few years ago they managed to still keep a positive, upbeat, and helpful demeanor with prospective customers instead of the stereotypically terrible customer service that gun stores are known for (it goes both ways unfortunately). Lately though they're no better than any other gun shop and they're sales associates are aggressive, unhelpful, arrogant, and just downright mean. I used to point other women to Gun Gallery, but after the interactions my husband and I have had with rude sales/range staff I can't recommend them to anyone anymore. I hope they find their souls because it seems like they sold it. I know it has to be draining dealing with a crazy clientele all day but the answer isn't to make it obvious you hate your customer base. In the meantime I'll be reluctantly looking for a new place to shoot/purchase firearms going forward. read more

It was my first time purchasing a handgun. Whitney was amazing, he greeted me as I walked in and immediately started 1 on 1 helping me to decide what handgun to buy. He explained all the different options and brands, his opinions on them and overall popular picks. I then was able to shoot a selection of them on the range to get a feel for which one I liked the best, at their low rental prices. I landed on the P365XL, which I bought brand new at this location, he even let me shoot a couple rounds for free on the range once my information was cleared in their system. Not only did I choose a great firearm, Whitney answered all of my questions and demonstrated proper gun safety, to teaching me how to shoot on the range, to ultimately a great overall experience here. I now have a 30 day range pass, and will be going frequently to train and get used to my new gun. Haven't been for years, as the range was unbearable without air conditioning. Although the pistol range was closed, the rifle range was available. Great staff as always, and range air conditioned. Cardboard backers, however, were shot to death and should have been replaced. Brought my own targets, so my cost was only for range time, a reasonable $13.00. I don't recall if that was for an hour or for all day, however, I don't usually stay for over an hour, so I was fine with that. Overall, a good experience. Pistol range is now open and also air conditioned! Same friendly staff and reasonable $13 fee for all day! Nice selection of firearms to purchase and rent. The one thing I absolutely love about Gun Gallery is their customer service! I have been to numerious gun stores and have felt insulted by the way I was spoken to because I am a woman! Here I have always felt respected and I can appreciate that a whole bunch!!!! They offer classes, rental firearms, ear and eye protection, ammo, tons of accessories cleaning supplies, various self defense items and new and used firearms. I recently purchased and new firearm from gun gallery and was given a 30 day range pass which was awesome. Also on the day I purchased my firearm I was not charged for the rentals I shot on the range that day. The only reason I left off one star is due to the temperature on the range. It wouldn't hurt to be a little cooler. I want to look hott, not be hot. read more

Today I went in to get a battery replacement for my laser pointer and got overcharged with the price of $30 for four pieces of watch battery. Do not buy ammo from the gun range. You think that you are purchasing brand new out of the box ammo when what you are purchasing are used metal jackets. My weapon misfired several times and failed to fire entirely twice. Incredibly friendly atmosphere which in itself keeps me wanting to come back more and more. The range is modestly priced and can cause a long wait sometimes especially with social distancing, yet they make the most of it by implementing a little queue system where you leave your name and number then you can go wait in your vehicle for your turn on the range. Prices are fantastic for everything that they stock, I will shop here first and foremost for handguns every single time, when it comes to long guns they are a bit more limited in stock but it still manages to feel diverse enough where just looking around your consistently interested in what they have. I've purchased two Glock .45 compact pistols from these folks, and I've used their pistol range a few dozen times. Will be back shortly to purchase an even smaller "carry' pistol, which I'm thinking will be a .380 from some manufacturer that's yet to be determined. The guys at the counter either seem to know a great deal, or know very little. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. Fortunately, the ones that know a lot far outnumber the ones that don't know very much. Everyone I've spoken to here has always been courteous and helpful, though. Additionally, I took the training/certification class for my carry permit here, and that was quick, inexpensive and relatively painless. Highly recommend going through Gun Gallery for this. BTW, just as an aside, having a FL carry permit gives you the right to legally carry in 27 other states as Florida has reciprocity agreements with those other 27 states in this regard. Pretty convenient, and a plus. Back to their range for a moment - it's not state of the art, but it's decent, and air-conditioned, and it works for me. It's always a little dirty, there are never enough target backs available (that aren't in complete tatters), some of the other patrons treat it as a social gathering spot, but, it's okay. Now, pricing of their new and used guns - from my personal experience shopping around, I would say it's rare they're the cheapest place to buy a gun, but conversely, it's been my experience that they are also not the most expensive place to purchase a firearm. If you know everything there is to know about guns and therefore you are a very savvy consumer of same, then you will ALWAYS be able to find something cheaper somewhere on the internet. Because, you know, the internet has a massive amount of sellers, and those sellers have lower overhead than a brick-and-mortar shop. But, as in other types of transactions, the real-time assistance and the product knowledge available here has value, and that value is even more significant to 95% of potential gun purchasers, since most gun purchasers don't actually know very much about guns, or what gun would be best for their needs. You're not buying a television at Costco here - know what I mean? That very real value should be imputed into whatever mental calculations you're making about where to buy a firearm. I know something about guns (although I would never say I'm an expert in this area), and I still like to talk to the guys here when I'm buying a pistol, just to make sure that my assumptions, and what I think I know, actually sync up with reality. I'd give Gun Gallery 4.5 stars if I could, but that's not possible on the Yelp platform, so 4 stars it is. read more

I would be more apt to call this you everything AR and Tactical supply store. Good on hand selection of AR parts from good manufacturers. IE uppers, lowers. lacks a bit on the finer things ie flash hiders etc. Definitely bot a Rainier Arms. Prices are reasonable. Good selection of silencers in stock though there prices could be more online with the likes of Silencer Shop and others these days. Handguns for self defense they have you covered as well as some holsters and even sponsoring a good amount of the training here in the area. This is one area where they shine bright and many in the industry did get a start here thanks to Neil. The staff is hit or miss it has improved but always see something happen that leaves a bad taste. Glad to see them bring in sponsors for sales and the such. The range I haven't used much but a few times. Prices are reasonable. Now they have a rifle range to at least get you sighted in or cycle your weapon. We need more outdoor ranges for sure in the area. Otherwise I am sure they would agree check with Ancient City if that is what you are looking for. In the end I do recommend at least checking them out. Yet, highly recommend getting in on some of the excellent training opportunities they have come through town. Ladies this is a good place to get some info on CCW or personal protection arms with not being down talked to but giving you the info you need with a real hands on. I hope this helps. read more

They shipped the same day I paid for it, and it arrived perfectly fine. I was so pleased I called back and phoned in another order. I got it, just fine as well. My most awesome boss ever brought me here as part of my year end review. Clearly, it was a good review or else this could have had a different ending... Anyway, it is your typical range - they have about 10 stations so I can see this place getting busy. The staff was interesting. A couple of them just stood there staring without offering assistance to anyone lined up at the counter. Odd, but not surprising. Definitely great people watching here. As a former customer, I will not be going back to Gun Gallery. Approximately two years ago, I bought a gun from Gun Gallery. Recently the manufacturer offered a free modification to my model in order to make it safer. Gun Gallery facilitated the return shipping. Shipping was paid by manufacturer. Gun Gallery instructed me to bring my gun in in it's original box which I did. This original box has special cutouts designed to keep the contents secure. It is specifically designed to hold the gun inside of it's holster which came from the manufacturer. So, I put the gun in the holster and put it in the box and gave it to Gun Gallery. When the gun was returned, the holster was missing. I asked them about the holster and they told me i didn't include the holster . They all but called me a liar to my face. I read a few of these reviews and I'm certain they are syrupy sweet when somebody is getting ready to lay down $500 plus bucks. But after the sale it's another story. They lost a customer over a ten dollar piece of plastic. Not very smart. read more

I went to the gun gallery to shoot my new Glock 30 that I purchased from another store. I was very impressed that they had two different ranges. They had a pistol range in the main building that extended to 15 yards, and a rifle range that extended to 25 yards. There was many rifles to choose from if you want to rent a rifle and most of them had very cool tactical attachments such as red dot sight, holographic sights, ACOG sights, even red dot with an acog site. The range fee seem like it was a fair price, and the staff was very friendly. The range itself was Nice, it seem like it was very well-kept. No fancy bells and whistles but it was definitely a solid looking range. The main store had a decent selection of firearms and a pretty good stock of accessories but nothing that I was really looking for. They did have some cool things like silencers it look like they may Refinish weapons there. Overall I really enjoyed my experience there it's a fair price it's fairly close and it was empty when I went in there. What you won't find here is some cheaply made off brand firearms and gadgets. The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and courteous, no questions is off limits. Being active duty I was recommended to come here. While here I was never acknowledged while standing right at the counter while ever other customer behind and around me was offered help! Two of the employees were just standing behind the counter in front of me laughing on their damn phones and still never acknowledged us! Not only was it super expensive the pistol range was absolutely tiny they took forever to get me checked in. They never checked my firearm, I've never been to a range where they haven't checked my firearm. They told me to leave a my box of 9mm at the countertop to check, they never told me that it was authorized or not and they gave me 2 boxes to go in with and told me I was good to go. After I came out of the range I get my id back and ask for my ammo back. One of the guys proceeded to tell me that he hadn't seen it since I went in while the two other gentlemen who were helpful told me that they saw it while I was shooting. But long story short they are overpriced and they lost a full box of ammo. I will not be going back anytime soon. read more

I've been shooting guns for years, but never indoors. Had two new guns and hadn't identified a good range in Jax yet so I thought I'd give Gun Gallery a try before I drove anywhere farther from the house. It's right there off Beach, but the turn is easy to miss. Not very much parking. Sign on the door said all guns must have their actions open and be unloaded before entering the store. My guns were in my range box and so were the two guys ahead of me, so I ignored that. Went inside, didn't know what to do but then the two regulars strolled up and walked past the line of customers and signed in on a clipboard. So I followed suit, signed in and the guy behind the counter asked me what I'd be needing today. I had brought my own targets, ear and eye protection, and my own weapons, so I just went right on in. First thing I saw was they have a sally port system, which is two doors that can't be open at the same time. That's good for if someone discharges a weapon negligently and also protects customer's hearing in the main shop area. This was my first time with mechanical targets, and I was impressed. In outdoor ranges, everyone has to wait for the line to be hot before they can shoot. And once the line is cold you have to go out, check your targets, staple new ones, move the target back or forward if you want. It takes time, and you are stuck waiting on the slow people. With this, you had your own lane and you could move the target as far or near as you wanted, even in between shots. The farthest you can go is 15 yards. Now some of their rules are standard, and some of their rules are weird. You can't wear a holster, or draw from one. You also, anytime you aren't shooting, have to have your weapon with the action open and pointing up. Now, that's weird. Action open and pointed downrange should be sufficient. And not being able to draw from a holster makes concealed carry or any other type of drill impossible. I imagine this is for liability purposes but now I'll have to find another range, probably outdoors, to practice drills from. And trust me folks, if you carry a gun and don't practice, you are not doing anyone any favors. After I got done shooting I went in the store to pay up, and I bought a new spring from the gun that malfunctioned. I wanted an extra power spring but all they had was OEM. It was reasonably priced though. Speaking of reasonably priced, the fee for the range has no time limit. If you go in at 10am, you can shoot til they close at 8pm if you have the ammo to do so, for 13 bucks. And the spring was cheap, 6 I believe. All in all, despite my weapon malfunctioning I had a pretty good trip, and I will most likely be back. Now, you can rent ear and eye protection, as well as handguns, and you can buy targets and ammunition there. Next time I will investigate and edit my review to reflect that. For now, Gun Gallery get's a solid three stars, with hits for what I mentioned above. I only have one gripe about this place, and it's the rifle range. It costs 4 bucks more than the pistol range, and it's 25 yards long. You can't even zero in a rifle at 25 yards, so I really don't see the point of going here pre-hunting season, or to bore sight your optics. Edit: 3 gripes. Me and a buddy went to shoot this morning and the place was packed because it was raining. And this is when I found out if you share a lane, you still pay per person. The group in front of us had six people in it, and they charged every single one of them 13 bucks, whether they were shooting or not. Between this, the no holstering, and a ridiculously short rifle range, this is not the place for me. If you want to rent guns and target shoot in relative comfort, this is probably fine. If you are military, law enforcement, or a concealed carrier looking to keep your skills up or better them with various shooting drills from 3 to 25 yards with a pistol and at least 200 yards for a rifle, I'd look for an outdoor range.
