The owner was very personable and treated us as if we were his only customers despite having multiple families hunting for their perfect tree. I was on crutches due to surgery and he provided personalized "UBER" services with his Gator so I could participate with my family. Had a large campfire to sit around, small cabin filled with a large selection of homemade holiday decorations. Will definitely be a regular place for us to continue our family tradition! Nevertheless, Almost Heavenly Trees & Greenery made the process way easier than I could have expected, and for the first time, like ever in my life, we left the tree lot with the first tree we looked at. This is a fantastic 'mom and pop' tree farm operation and the young man, forgive me that I have forgotten his name, was super fantastic! He spent 20 minutes with us making sure we had the exact tree we wanted, and even helped up strap it to the roof of our car for the trip home. I feel really bad that I've forgotten his name because he was so personable. Not once did I feel like he was rushing us even though the lot was busy. And the trees are spectacular. It didn't look like much when we arrived because it is just trees in a lot, but they are quite fresh. The trees (douglas firs) from the family farm in WV were cut about a week before being sold. We ended up with a frasier fir (personal favorite) which came from a farm in NC but we were told they were about as fresh but they just couldn't confirm the day they had actually been cut. The prices were very reasonable, especially for being a local business and not a 'big box' store. We were just so impressed and are so very happy with our lovely tree that we are definitely life-long customers as long as we are within reasonable driving distance! They last all of December, always get it the day after thanksgiving and keep it up until New Year's Day. This year our tree fell over after being up for two weeks. It didn't feel secure and I called to get some advice and spoke with Matt who explained it was likely our tree stand (which it was) and offered to have someone come to our home to install our tree in a new tree stand the following day. As promised, Sam came with the new tree stand and put our tree in it the following day. They went above and beyond and followed through on everything they said they would. We will continue to get our trees from almost heavenly for as long as we live in this area and I have already told many people about this company so you should be expecting some new customers! They have several varieties of trees ranging from 8' to 2' tall. (Some even bigger) They have trees with the root ball attached that you can transplant to your own yard. But it's not just the great selection of trees, the gift shop, the snack bar and the more than reasonable prices, it's the warm, family atmosphere that we find so refreshing. The entire family and everyone that works there are so pleasant, friendly, and work very hard to make your holiday amazing. Every year we drive past 3 or 4 different tree farms to visit Chery Grove. The staff is friendly and helpful, there to answer your questions and help once you pick your tree. The trees are fully, good quality and reasonably prices. They usually carry your tree to the front where it's trimmed and wrapped then secured on your car. I did go on a Sunday so it was busy, but not overly crowded. That led us to consider other options. After a friend posted about Friendship Trees on Instagram and we saw it's just 30 minutes from Capital Hill, we had to go. Friendship Trees and Christmas Shop is a smaller farm, but that means less people competing for trees. It's close to the shore just 30 minutes from Capital Hill in Washington, DC. Unlike other farms, it's a set price ($50) for any tree you cut down yourself regardless of height. If you want to pay for the best trees, they already cut those down and sell them for between $75-$100. We found one of their only big trees and after bailing, we paid $63. They tie up the tree for you and attach it to your car. This farm also has a small Christmas shop with decorations, candles, chairs, etc. In the back, there is a farm house style public restroom and a snack bar selling $1 Swiss Miss hot chocolate.

It was really easy to order online: choose your delivery date and your size of tree, and--based on availability--you can also get them to pick it up/haul it away. They called the day before delivery to confirm a specific delivery window, and the guys who delivered my tree couldn't have been more professional and detail-oriented: they made sure it was turned just the direction I wanted to get the best "side," and they gave me careful instructions about how to water and care fore the tree. Even though I'm sure it was a busy day for them, they didn't rush at all and clearly took pride in their work. Everyone who saw the Frasier Fir was very impressed by how full and even it was.
