The kids enjoyed themselves and didn't want to leave. We came on a Monday so the parking wasn't bad and the Park was not crowded at all. Only downfall it was a super hot but we enjoyed ourselves. They have a concession stand that sells food or you can bring your own picnic set up. They have Avalon that you can rent or you can bring your own tent and utilize the picnic tables. The bathrooms are fairly clean, but of course there was no air circulating. I do wish they had some type of fountain where you could get filtered water from for free. We decided to visit on a Monday with the hopes of a small crowd. Well it was not packed but definitely not a small crowd. You can pay $20 for parking inside or free parking outside. We decided to go with free parking and it was just fine! The ticket booth was a little crowded when we arrived right after opening. The line did move fast. The price was as expected for a water park at $35 for adults and older kids and $28 for under 2 and elderly. The park is open from 10am until 6pm and we spent most of the day here. The park has several picnic tables available. We decided to bring a tent to cover it. Best idea we could have thought of! They offer some paid cover sitting areas but they were booked. Our set up was perfect... just should have bought more snacks/beverages. The park has a wonderful kids area! It has a setup with the dump bucket and kids play area. The large pool area is my favorite part. The water was the perfect temp and felt clean. I stayed here most of the day. They have a few water slides near the top of the park. It had good selections for older kids. My kids loved this part! We did visit the concessions and the food was good! We spent about $13 on each meal. Next time I will bring food to save. They have a decent restroom area that was clean and comfortable. So will all of that being said... we LOVED this experience! 10 out of 10! Well done Spring Valley!

Sound was good, nicely balanced. My one star off is the jaw dropping prices of the drinks. I went up to the beer/liquor stand near the stage. No menu but a plaque for a seltzer style can of whatever was touted $3.99. There was a second plaque advertising a Long Island with interesting ingredients pineapple juice and sour mix no price though but tricked but the relatively low cost of the seltzer I said "one of those" over the din of the music. I used a card and felt my eyes go wide when I went to tip.. First tip selection was $5 what????? That's right the drink was $28!!!!!! It was overly sour and sweet nothing like a Long Island and certainly not as stout. I'd have the same buzz if I'd had the lemonade from the stand that closed before I could get a drink. Sad too because they closed 3 songs into the headliner. Second reason is I found out about the concert through Facebook events and hit open on maps from the fb page and the address was wrong!!! I missed over 45 minutes of the show due to this. I'm from Huntsville not familiar at all with the area. The city needs more green or brown signs directing tourists to the park. One might have saved me. Also the opening band was a big youth draw and many of them had left leaving the front of the amphitheater empty close to the stage but some security were still policing the area. At that point why gate-keep? The band doesn't want to play for empty seats...

It…read moreis set back a decent way from Chaney Thompson Rd. at the base of Green Mountain along Aldridge Creek, two miles from Ditto Landing. Sister and I took Mom for a quick ride through the park last Saturday and it looked really nice from the car! Amenities include: variety of playground equipment for all ages, dog park (I think 2 actually - 1 for large dogs and 1 for small), walking trail, multiple pavilions with picnic tables, disc golf, restrooms (with baby changing stations in all restrooms), archery range, and free little library. There didn't appear to be an abundance of shade but there are, I believe, two covered pavilions. Some complaints I read are the disc golf and dog park areas hold water and get super soggy after it rains and the swings are too high for most children to climb on to on their own. Also, some people noted the playground mulch needs to be replaced. A note of caution I saw is that there is no fence around the playground area so be sure to keep a close eye on the little kiddos. I'm looking forward to going back to this park in the spring!

There's a very narrow path to the left of the falls, but not an easy path. Also getting to the path requires threading through the water atop the waterfall. On one of our "joy ride" outings with Mom, we drove around The Vision in SE Huntsville, just off of Hobbs Island Road. It is a Christian camp and retreat center and offers overnight accommodations. Meeting spaces and activities including a zipline tour, high and low ropes course, archery, tomahawk throwing, swimming, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and more. The Lodge includes a banquet hall with meeting space for 100, kitchen access, game room with ping-pong, pool table, air hockey, TV with Wii, and also has a movie theater. The lake was sizeable and is stocked with, at least, catfish. The swimming pool looked clean and inviting! The Vision was closed the day we drove around, and we didn't get to see inside any of the facilities. It's anything but rustic based on the photos on their website. I love their motto "get away - get near." If I weren't deathly afraid of heights I would certainly "zip" here!

He found Mr. Whitehead with Alabama Elite Fishing Guide. Me. Whitehead and my dad communicate via phone calls and text for a couple of weeks. Settling on roughly 2 half day and 1 full day trips in February 2023. Mr. Whitehead was absolutely professional from the start. His boat is very nice and easily accommodated us. All of his gear was too notch. Everything was supplied. On top of fishing we also wanted to learn about electronic since we run Garmin LiveScope at home and wanted to learn more fishing techniques. Me. Whitehead took time to explain all of the fine details. Both my dad and I went home knowing so much more about fishing at Lake Guntersville, fishing in general, fishing techniques that we can use at home and about electronics. Mr. Whitehead was able to get us onto fish. I caught my 2 largest bass on this trip. We have a lot in the 2-4 lb range. We were more that satisfied.
