Very nice course! Only one complaint, will get into that later. When we pulled in, there was plenty of room to park. Yes, the parking lot is a little distance from the clubhouse but if you pull around, there is someone to take your clubs and out them in a cart for you, you don't have to lug them across the parking lot, so it's not an issue. Now, my complaint: When my husband paid, Shelby failed to tell him that a Robert Trent Jones Golf Card was available for purchase. We paid 162.08 to play 18 holes today. A Robert Trent Jones golf Card cost $39.95 per person = $79.90 for both of us. With that card, we could have played 18 holes for $41.95 each = $83.90 for both of us. This means we would have paid a total of $163.80, instead of $162.08. But, we could have played the rest if 2019 for only $41.95, instead of $81.04. Shelby REALLY should have explained that to us! We will not be back this year but will invest in a card next year so we can play the whole year at the discounted price. They have three different courses at this location. The Short course (don't let the name fool ya), the Highlands and the River Course. Today, we played the River Course. It was an amazing, fun course with breathtaking views!! The greens did have a lot sand on them and were extremely fast, but it hasn't rained here in some time. There is a courtesy cart that rolls around in case you want to purchase drinks or snacks (no outside food or drink is allowed here). We seen them twice during the 18 holes, so they do come around enough. There is one bathroom on the course. It is between holes 8 and 12, so you are able to use twice. When you finish the 9th hole, you will play straight into the 10th hole. You will not see the clubhouse until you are finished with all 18 holes, so keep that in mind. They set the tee times 10 minutes apart. We were behind (waiting on) a group of four the whole time and there was a group of two waiting on us the whole time. We went to the clubhouse for lunch. They have a great menu with a variety of items ranging from hotdogs to crabc sandwiches. I had the chicken tenders (average frozen chicken tenders) and fries. Husband had two hotdogs and the fries. He said one would have been enough, they were pretty good size and very tasty! The food was hot, the service was okay and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, this was a great place and a wonderful course! I would recommend to anyone!!!

My hair guy and I came here for a post-hairdo drink after he wrapped up his workday at Fringe Salon. The bartender/golf employee was beyond friendly! I wanted a glass of wine and if you think about it, they likely don't sell much wine at X-Golf. I bartended at the 19th hole at The Huntsville County Club and primarily the golfers' liked highballs and beers. I don't even think we stokced wine! The bartender showed his bottle of pinot grigo or chardonnay and said it had likely "oxidized," which I agreed, as there was maybe a light 1 glass pour left. He kindly opened another bottle, and even tried to chill it for me, and I said "1-2 ice cubes are fine." He was very apologetic about the wine situation, which was actually fine! He offered to let me hit some golf balls in the simulators for free and then sent us away with two leftover doughnuts from the Parlor Doughnut Shoppe next door. I took them home, and the hubs ate them and said "they were delicious!" I'm looking forward to visiting X-Golf again next haircut date!

I worked there for years in various capacities: a server in the various dining rooms, special event serving (wedding receptions and other events), bartender in the upstairs bar, and bartender in the 19th hole. I really enjoyed working here and even held a function (I believe it was a rehearsal dinner) when my Momma's friend loaned us her membership to use the facility. The food was really well prepared when I worked there. The facility was always sparkling clean and the kitchen was spotless and well run! I can't speak to the golf, since I have never golfed here. I do know there is a mature pecan tree on the edge of the golf course where people like to go and load up on the pecans when they are in season. The swimming pool was always well managed and full of young people and a few adults, too. It was nice that members can order food and have it delivered to them at the pool! Huntsville County Club offers a variety of memberships from City Social (non golfer), Corporate Membership, Non-Resident Golf, Senior Golf, Full Resident Gold, Young Executive Golf, and Junior Executive Golf. The Huntsville County Club Golf Pros teach golf lessons to children aged 4 and up and adults. They've always had a nice pro shop, and they've added a TrackMan golf simulation room in 2019. The TrackMan is a 650 square foot room in the clubhouse with TrackMan 4 golf simulation technology, artificial turf, and a 225 inch screen that projects data. This room is used for lessons, practice, playing, or "just surviving the winter months without being cold." If you get the opportunity, do visit Huntsville County Club, it is a lovely addition to Huntsville!

Thoroughly enjoyed 2 days of golf at Redstone! While it has been 15 years since I last played here,…read morethe facilities remain in great shape. They also added the 9-hole links style to start off the Warrior course, which I think was a brilliant idea (though I'm not a fan of the kick-ball holes they added or whatever they are -- just awkward). Also, the greens on the 9 links holes need some love -- the little clumps of grass are frustrating. Otherwise, the back 9 are how I remembered them, and they were fun to play again. Patriot is my favorite of the 2, and again, as enjoyable as I remembered. The greens were in better shape on this course, though the fairways are à course superintendent's nightmare as it is one big anthill. I have to imagine the maintenance bills are pretty high, but the fairways need some love. Lastly, I appreciated the staff at Redstone. All were friendly and professional, and made my wife and I feel welcome. Can't wait to play here in the Fall. Cheers! RS

One of the USTA pros who works here, Chris Shearburn and I played on the same tennis team at UAH. Go see Chris, he is good people and a talented athlete! The dressing rooms are nice. I can't speak to the gym because I never used it and although they have 6 indoor tennis courts (they are hard courts), 15 outdoor clay and hard tennis courts (all of which are lighted), 6 racquetball courts and 1 squash court, they have over 42,000 square feet of indoor space dedicated to racquet sports, I can't say with certainty I played on the outdoor clay (really Rubico) courts. They have a dedicated staff who really makes this club shine! I played here solely as a guest so I can't speak to the membership costs or benefits. I'm really proud of the revamp of this center in 2010! Well done good people! I joined the Huntsville Athletic Club of Alabama after relocating for work, attracted by its…read moreimpressive facilities and tennis clinics. To participate, I was required to sign a membership contract. Over time, I spent nearly $500 on clinics, around $1,000 in membership fees, and more on food and other services. Six months later, I had to relocate to Georgia for a new job. When I asked to cancel my membership, they insisted on a $250 cancellation fee. Considering my circumstances and how much I'd already invested, I expected a more understanding response. After looking into Alabama law, I discovered that under Ala. Code § 8-23-4(6), health studios are legally required to allow contract cancellation without penalty if a member relocates and there's no affiliated facility within 15 miles of the new address. I brought this to their attention, but they ignored it and even denied being a registered health studio--despite being listed on the Alabama Attorney General's Health Studio Registration. Not only is their behavior unethical, but the contract they make you sign is voidable under state law. They try to sneak in additional fees or clauses to make it seem enforceable, but legally, it's not. They rely on customers not knowing their rights. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, but the club's filing department denied it. Don't be fooled by the friendly faces or flashy courts. When it matters most, this club will put profits ahead of people. I recommend considering other tennis facilities in Huntsville such as: * Huntsville Tennis Center - A public facility with 36 courts, lessons for all ages, leagues, and tournaments. * PlayYourCourt Huntsville - A flexible option for lessons and community play with certified instructors. Choose a facility that respects its members and the law.
