It was a two way street during this appointment, versus him talking at me and assuming he knew what was wrong. I wouldn't say I am a full-time hypochondriac (maybe part-time?) but we ended the appointment with lab slips galore just to rule things out. I appreciate the better-safe-than-sorry approach. I know you do too. The staff there (in particular "Beth") was wonderful. Very sweet, efficient and scheduled an appointment with a lab while I was standing there! I am used to them handing me the lab slip and then having to personally call when I get the chance ...always winding up on hold for way longer than I care to be, but I digress. Dr.Tom." I assume this means I was kicked out of his practice but I had already switched doctors the day before, so I can't be sure. Ironically, if he and his staff were this responsive to messages we wouldn't even have had that conversation in the first place. I will also mention that during our conversation he mentioned he had 6,000 patients and based on other Yelp reviews it appears he is opening up a 4th office. There is one other doctor, 3 NPs, and a nutritionist listed among his practice's staff. I'll let you do the math and figure out if that's a doctor-to-patient ratio you're comfortable with.

My boys have been seeing Dr Chen since birth. They are now 6 and 7. We have always been over the moon for Dr Chen. I do have to mention she is not there 5 days a week but with other MD's on staff, we have never had a problem getting in when we needed to. I mean.. I tell my kids not to get sick when Dr Chen is out of the office but you know kids...they don't listen. She is quick to respond to emails, honest about issues and promotes healthy habits for kids. Never again! Two visits, two nightmares. First time I waited over an hour. Second time I waited…read moreover an hour and a quarter. Both visits left me feeling like a piece of trash who wasn't worth their time. I have never been with such a disrespectful and cold doctor. The nurses call dealing with her the "Wrath of Khan." As far as the medical part of the visit went.... I have a condition (not why I went) that is very obvious to the eye and is on all my charts. She focused on that and disregarded the reason I was there, namely a very serious heart condition that was diagnosed and hasn't been treated. Life threatening. Told to go on low salt and low calory diet. I seemed depressed, did I want some happy pills? Pure bullshit.
