Got hungry and came here during a softball tournament up the road. The Yelp review was good so figured we would give it a try... caution though, it's super small with just a few tables and doesn't appear to have a public restroom it fine for takeout. Nice staff but took a bit of time to get a couple of grinders (though we ordered them toasted.) We all agreed it was worth the wait for reasonably priced food. We really liked the grinder rolls and all the filler options. Will likely come back tomorrow for day 2 tournament. read more

Done with Gus' they replaced their workers answering the phone with an AI bot. It's awful they are now using frozen sausage topping instead of the links. Their pizza and even the sauce did not taste good tonight. Most likely bc it's cheaper for them. Do they lower the price for the customers since they lowered the quality of their pizza? Of course not. They keep the prices high to take advantage of the customer and keep their hours really short. Will not be returning and will be recommending other places to people I know unless they make a change for the better. We have been coming here for a few years now always enjoyed the service as well as the food however, the quality in the past six months has significantly decreased. I took a pizza home for my kids a cheese pizza and they wouldn't even touch it. It was so burnt and dried out. I called complained They said they would give me a new pizza ordered the pizza and it's the same thing no one-year-old and three-year-old is going to touch burnt dried out cheese. I give up. We've been going here for years. But over the last few years since the owner has been gone and others have taken over. They don't get the order right. It's so greasy. We ordered pizza and subs. I had them repeat it back on the phone. I asked three times for certain things because so many times they get it wrong. If I had cash I would have gone to the place down the street but I didn't. The french fries were cold not even warm. And the box that they put them in builds up so much condensation you could actually see it on the side of the box making all of the fries soggy. Don't even live 1 minute away from this place on the river. So it's not like it was in the car for delivery for a long time. The sub was not toasted even though I asked three times to make sure they toast it not just toast it but toast it well. It came on regular bread. I asked them to put paper towels on the bottom. But they just don't pay attention to any detail whatsoever. The quality of food has gone way down as well. It's too bad. The owner of this pizza place is a great guy. His family is nice too but the children that they have working there, I say children, kids teens early twenties whatever they just simply don't listen. This was the very last time I will go there. I'm sure without a doubt not every order they make gets messed up or is lousy but the problem is it's a hit or miss type of place. And these days with prices averaging 20 to $30 for just a pizza a soda and a french fry quality should be better and the details should be better. read more

I have only ever gotten delivery from here. The food was delivered in timely fashion and the price for delivery was reasonable. The food is good, but the pizza sauce is not my favorite. My favorite food to order out is a tuna sub (I know, I know) and the one at Gus's is ok. Overall, the food is average and what you can expect from a New England pizza joint. I have been frequenting Gus's for quite a few years without any problems, but lately or the past 2 weeks my husband and I see a huge difference in the care and quality of the pizza specifically. The Greek pizza was undercooked even after being reheated at home, and on our second pizza the pepperoni was dried out, but the crust was raw, lifeless and limp. I also have never had a pizza cut in the way we received it. One slice was a two-biter along with three other tiny biters, and four large slices. Note: when the mom is working the food is exceptional. I am sad because I have always loved their food, but will see if we decide to order again. I have been getting pizza here for over 20 years. It has always been great. Sauce was sweet. Plenty of cheese. Just the best Greek-made (heavy on the olive oil) pizza typical of New England. I loved it. I don't know whether they have sold the place to people who have no clue how to make pizza or what, but the pizza I just had tonight was absolutely horrible. There was no oil on this pizza at all - literally none. The crust was dry and tasteless, the sauce tasted more like Italian sauce (not Greek), and the cheese barely covered half the pizza. I actually had to stick it in the air fryer and melt some of my cheese on it once I got home so I wouldn't be stuck eating a bunch of plain, tasteless crust. What the hell happened to this place? It is just horrible. I don't know anything about making pizza, but even I could do better than this - at least the cheese would cover the whole pizza. I'm not going back. Time for me to find a new Greek pizza place. Don't waste your time. read more

One of my families favorite pizza places in town! Love the savings if you choose to do pickup for two large pizzas. Pizza is a perfect middle for all types of pizza lovers. Love the pizza (large for a more floppy greasy take, small for a less greasy more fire pizza), salads are so good, and calzones if your a crust love like myself! Gus's Pizza is the best pizza you will encounter in Somerset by far. The crust tastes fresh and is the perfect mix between soft and crunchy. The cheese is equally delicious and the sauce is how all pizza sauce should be! My favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, which is buffalo sauce, cheese and chicken, which ranch on the side. Been coming to Gus since Gus started the business. The staff are courteous and will make your order right every time. Over the years I've found the pizza a little more bland than I recall as a kid. I also enjoy a more flavorful linguica or chourico than they currently use. My wife loves the meatball grinder and my son the chicken tenders and fries. They have a good variety on their menu. Awhile back I ordered the "American Dream" which gives you a nice selection of appetizers. The location is small, with a few tables to dine in. I must admit it's fun to watch the staff work and cook up orders. If you make a visit during beach season, you can pick up a grinder and head over to pierce beach just up the street. read more

Other places have similar deals but they never include toppings. Theirs is 2 toppings if I remember correctly and their pizza isn't super greasy like other places in the area.
