Very disappointed with the service, we went because I had received an email regarding the fajita special. Not only did we have to ask for menus we also had to ask about the fajita special. The bartender didn't even know about it. Then we were left with our dirty dishes in front of us for over 20 minutes and there were only 9 other people sitting at the bar. Haven't been to Barrett's Ale House in years because it wasn't as welcoming and clean as it should have been. We returned to see if there's been an improvement and I'm happy to say they have! We went in for the Greek pizza and the fish and chips. Jayda, our waitress was very nice and efficient as she was very attentive. The fish and chips were very delicious and fresh. A light batter, which I always look for and the pizza was amazing! Our first time trying this and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend. We will be sure to return! read more

Random night down south to get some ice roll but thought to bring the family for food before dessert. I love the Bridgewater location so why not try here? The server seemed to either not want to be there or didn't want to serve us but even my 14 year old daughter asked why was he so rude. Otherwise the food was pretty good other than the chicken parm egg rolls which were disgusting and overpriced. I sadly would rather try somewhere else if ever in town and hungry again. read more

Waitress was super friendly and personable. Had a smile the entire way through and made us laugh a few times. Everything on the menu sounded delicious but we ended up order shrimp scampi potato skins from the specials menu. Such a unique pairing, but the combination worked so seamlessly. The berry salad was presented beautifully. The colors really popped and everything was so fresh and delightful. Cajun pasta is an absolute must!!!! Available as is with chicken or with seafood. I opted for the seafood version and it was 100% the correct decision. So creamy and full of flavor, as well as loaded with shrimp and salmon. They do not skimp on the shrimp here! Unfortunately we were to full afterwards to order dessert but will be back for another round. There is also an arcade located inside which was loads of fun. Something fun for all ages. We decided to go here as they advertised as a sports bar. Sports bars that I have been to in my years usually have ALL the football games going on Sunday. Well, not them. They only showed the two games on the big networks. We stayed anyway to sample their food. The clam chowder was average. Completely dissatisfied, 0 stars for management and server . we went here last night , 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Almost a full hour between ordering and actually getting our meals . When our server did actually come by our table again it was to say they were short handed (UGH) and our meals would be coming soon . After another 15 minutes the kids meals came out then 2 of ours . Lastly , a small pizza and my pasta came another 5 minutes later . My pasta dish came out looking dry , when I asked our server how long that plate had been sitting under a heat lamp she got an attitude with me and said " I don't know , I didn't go in the kitchen ". I send it back and foolishly expected a fresh dish but could instantly tell all they did was reheat it and stir it around , I don't know who they think they were fooling . No apologies? This Barrett's isn't as nice as the waterfront location, but they have a similar menu and their food has been pretty good as well. I usually split the boneless buffalo wings with my boyfriend and get a small Greek salad. Both are pretty tasty. They have an arcade inside, which is nice for those times when there's a wait and you have young kids, gives them something to do. This place is my old standby. Is it fine dining? Not even close. Will you feel great about your dietary choices? Not even close. You will probably hate yourself, but that is why we keep going back. I would never recommend eating here every day. However, the staff is always on point and one of the friendliest group you will find. Walk in the bar area and you will find loyal customers actually eating. That should tell you something about the place. They also have a sick Chicken Mozambique pizza-try it now. Barrett's is a better version of the ninety nine, but with arcade games. Oh, I forgot that part. Kind of destroys trivia night now doesn't it? Laugh at the decor, make poor dietary choices, drink some beers, and play some skeeball. You'll find out why Shaw's is empty, yet the parking lot is full. read more

We decided to order Take Out from Barrett's. Overall my experience with the staff was nice. Their order online site was not working so I called the restaurant and the hostess took my order. When I went in to pick up my food the place was crowded and again the hostess was really friendly! The menu had a lot of different items and I was impressed with the variety they did offer. The food was good. The pizza was a little hard to bite into but I'm thinking that might have been because I took it out and didn't eat it right as it came out of the oven. I was chewing it like it was a pine cone. My boneless buffalo's were over cooked so much they snapped when they were cut. My grandson's over priced child's cheeseburger, you guessed it, over cooked, dry, no flavor. My granddaughter's grilled cheese, over priced and cold. Cauliflower balls or whatever they call them I thought were battered peas! I didn't know cauliflower came that small. My daughter got plain boneless chicken and that was decent. I got a replacement. This one arrived half luke-warm and half cold. Unbelievable. These are pre-grilled chicken breasts. All they do is put it in the microwave, and still they couldn't get it right after two tries. Unacceptable. Today I witnessed the worst disrespect come from a manager today to the hostess working. Yelling at her in front of customers for something she had no control over. I was with a few people and she wanted to seat us upstairs and we asked to sit in the middle section. Long story short she got yelled at for doing her job and accommodating to customers asks. We used to like this place. Went last night and the food was not good. Burger buns old and broke apart as soon as you picked them up. Several small things incorrect on the orders. The topper is the two kids in the game room sitting at a high boy picking their noses, and bodies, not wearing gloves and wrapping silverware (not the first time they've been back there doing that when we've gone). It's actually really gross they do it out in the open. Probably better to have them doing it behind closed doors, pretty unsanitary. read more

We've been here several times, the food is descent, nothing over the top, basically your average pub food and the service can be a bit slow. The atmosphere is pretty nice, but generally, it can be very loud even when you are sitting on the dining room side. They have a pretty big game room with over 40 games.. I guess it's good for the kids??? Nothing I would have any interest in doing... The Nachos never seem to be served with enough chips, and I always seem to end up getting the Asian Sweet Chili Stir Fry (Sautéed chicken and stir-fried vegetables, white rice & Asian Sweet Chili sauce). Hate to say it because i lives eating here but today was awful i know it wasn't the waiter he was great. I ordered steak tips medium/rare definitely came out medium/well the waiter was so nice about it but the manager told him to tell me they marinate them so they cook darker. thats literally not how marinades work i cook everyday poor excuse for not controlled environment. Gave me free dessert because steak tips are 32$ dont wanna lose oit on that money. Desserts cost pennies to make. Spent 94$ and still gave my waiter 25$ he should go to another restaurant where he could have better management. read more

Let's be clear right up front. I've been going here off and on since 2013. I've had great meals here. And I've been disappointed just as many times. Also, service is great. They are not the reason I'm reviewing. I know the cost of everything has gone up. I'm well aware. That having been said this place has finally reached the point where I don't feel the portions match the price. Of the 4 entrees we got, only the pizza was worth the price. Steak tacos were OK, but hardly any steak. Way overpowered by the other ingredients. My friends were disappointed in the portions as well. I fully understand the costs of dining out and doing business. But $18 for steak tacos with 4 small strips of steak is a bit much. It's aggravating. Probably for the business too. I just didn't feel I got the value for the meal that price was asking. Gonna be a while. Which sucks because I want them to be successful and the product was improving since the pandemic. Steak tip dinner, $26. ordered medium rear, came well done, broccoli was cold, mashed potatoes were warm. Waitress was great, cook is not. Meat advertised as 12 oz. Came as 5 small pieces.
