Meat glue steak! I went out to Providence, Rhode Island stopped in Massachusetts at this place as well. The whole time I was there I felt like I was on a diet. No food of quality anywhere. This place, especially got on my nerves. The waitress was nonexistent and seemed a little bit put off the fact that we were there. The ambience was nice however with the weight staff and the food total was less than one star. The thing that got me the most was the fake steak. I think what makes Mesa standout from all the other Portuguese places in Fall River is that they are innovative with their menu. Not just your traditional papseco from the bakery with butter but butter and additional options like oil with it into smaller pieces. The Chourico Mozambique rolls were a table favorite! Crispy, not greasy at all! My girlfriend loved the steak sandwich, (and I got the 21 signature steak, not pictured and it was 5/5) my parents both loved their dishes and my dad emphasized he loved the sauce for the octopus plate. The server was kind along with the table busser as well. It's not an old school spot, it's updated and clean. I would probably bring a friend here, and definitely to try that Portuguese steak pizza! I ordered the New Bedford Seared Scallops- Maple glazed scallops with mushroom and asparagus risotto with bacon. The scallops were perfectly seared. The risotto was my favorite part of the meal! There are so many delicious flavors in this dish. The mushroom and asparagus with the bacon, you can taste all the flavors. I would recommend this dish to anyone who likes scallops. Visiting Fall River and stopped in for Dinner after a recommended by a friend. We asked the server her recommendation and I went with the Bourbon Steak Tips. I added the Shrimp Mozambique along with the standard sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus. The portions seemed very generous and a lot of flavor. Walked in to no host/hostess, after waiting several minutes, then requested assistance from one of the waiters that was a bumbling mess. This place has always been a hit or miss in respects to the service and food but today was the end all. My boyfriend and I place our order, Portuguese soup and Portuguese steak and he ordered a surf and turf. 35 minutes later and still no soup, when we questioned the waiter stated that he nudged the kitchen not sure why it was taking so long. He the proceeds to come over with a beer to apologize for the lack of soup. I don't want another beer, I hadn't finished my first. He then proceeds to inform us that the cook never saw it listed on the slip, so which one is it? Then our entrees come to the table and no fries were provided on either plate and we sat there waiting, at the same moment, the table near us gets their food with plenty of fries. After speaking with a manager, who did nothing to speak to the waiter (bad management) we left and shortly after as we were waiting in valet, a waiter comes out and says, do you guys still want these fries? He literally had the audacity to come outside and belittle us for their error. We were appalled and the fact that we were mocked after such a bad experience solidified the fact that we will never go back. Stopped for lunch and it was awesome!! Friendly greeter at the door and the servers were great. Excellent menu selection so there's something for everyone!! We had Portuguese soup that was so flavorful and full of good stuff, the hamburger was delicious!! And they serve a basket of awesome bread!! Everything was fresh and delicious!! From sandwiches, salads and dinners the prices were very reasonable. We definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu. Street parking was easy in a Sunday afternoon. read more

My husband and I stopped by around 5:30 on a Saturday, it was busy but we didn't have to wait terribly long for a table. We sat close to the bar area where some of the folks there gave us quite the entertainment. Downside was the door to outside was open and smoke was drifting in. Decor is fun and classy. The bread with the olive oil on the table was good. Our server was very friendly! My husband got chicken Mozambique and a Portuguese red wine, and I had a beer with the Portuguese steak pizza. The food was pretty good ! The service was absolutely HORRENDOUS! Horrendous! I've never ever honestly had such bad service before. The table runners were so much better than our actual waitress. Our waitress- Rachel, couldn't be bothered at all, I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or just hated her job but her service was really not good at all. We ordered food & never received parts of our order, we then got the check (thanks to the table runner) and sat there waiting for her to take it for another 15 mins. Our waitress came to the table maybe 4 times our entire visit and that was only because we asked the table runner for things. Aside from the waitress being awful, the table runners were great except for the fact that they put all of the hot food down literally right in front of the baby of the table (one year old) so he kept grabbing at it. read more

After almost an hour I checked with the hostess and she said someone in our party had cancelled it. No way we were all there. I then asked to see the manager. Dhe said Liz called and cancelled. Our party was under Lisa and the hostess haf cancelled us. I ecplained this to the manager and said there was ample opportunity to put 2 tables together but hostess didn't fo it. The manager said she would get us a table in 10 minutes. After 15 minutes and no table in sight I told them that my wife and were leaving so they only needed a table for 6. My first time at this restaurant by myself. I haven't really been here very often, but I went to the bar and ordered a drink and was given a menu. I ordered my food, enjoyed my drink but was not offered any bread before my meal. I'm quite fond of the bread and oil oil before a meal. Unfortunately to my surprise, I was not offered this. Looking around, the couples that were there, eating or not were given bread. I thought this was surprising. I didn't realize that because I wasn't with a special someone I would be treated differently. My meal was good but my experience was less then expected. It's the little things that make a great experience. In addition to this, I began to notice that certain patrons, based on what they ordered received their utensils pre rolled in a napkin versus placed on a napkin. I don't agree with treatment from the bartender. The last patron I viewed, who was by themselves received bread. I guess I have to order wine to get bread if I'm by myself. Pretty much a hole in the wall with terrible customer service. Walked in this evening, no take out menus was available for me to order..walked to the bar, chased down the busgirl whom said 'Im not the one to take your order' then walked away instead of finding me a waitress.. I had to flag a waitress down, apparently they couldn't see me sitting down at the table to come to take my order. Ordered, waited forever for the food which never came.. Waitress kicked me off the table to make room for other guests..as if I wasn't a customer waiting for my food.. If you can't have the basic aspect of customer service down, who knows how you treat the food in the back, so I left without my food...
