We strongly do Not recommend this place to go and shop! I spoke to a sales girl named Britt and I have the message if anyone would like to see! We were interested in a bathroom vanity top that we saw a pic of. She assured me that it was in perfect condition and knew we were driving over 1 hr to get to this place. Upon arrival, I noticed right away it had a big crack and I was obviously upset! She then states she did not see this very visible crack! She tries to sell us other ones that are def. not the colour we are looking for! At this point, I said you brought us here from far for Nothing! She says to me I guess you are too hard to please! Really??? Terrible customer service!! Don't waste your time shopping there!!!! read more

I don't know if the other reviews were written by the owners themselves or not but I have heard and experienced nothing but negative things from this buisiness. The products themselves are not that bad I bought a kitchen sink and tap, the tap began to rust and the hose inside the tap broke within 6 months of having it. The tap had 1 year warranty on it and when we went to go redeem the warranty Gus said that ya they have a warranty but you're gonna have to pay for a fee of a new hose because they have to ship it and because the rust might not have been the products fault but our fault (not sure how) the we had to pay $100 for a new tap instead of the whatever it was at regular price. The guy is a snake and honestly would just recommended going somewhere else. If you talk to other kitchen places in town they'll all tell you a similar story. read more

In February 2013, we purchased 3 bathroom vanities and counter tops from the Whitby location (which is now closed due to a fire ). The vanities are very well constructed and we have been very happy with the purchase. However for some reason one of the tops (all three of our tops were different) has stained from what we consider normal use. Wendy at the HO in Peterborough has sent a serviceman to see if it could be buffed out, but his attempts were not sucessful. ( After five years of use)we have been offered a free replacement top, however we have declined as we do not want to go thru another reno project at this time. Most people would not notice the markings and would accept as wear and tear. What company is going to stand behind their product after 5 years? keep in mind the product is stone and Gus 's do not make the stone but only cut it and sell it. Talk about someone standing behind their products, these people are the best. I would recommend this company to anyone. read more

Everything is good until you pay. Did my whole main bathroom with them and everything was great. Then we decided to to our basement bathroom and when we had a problem with the shower there was no after sale service. When I said I wanted to return it I was told all sales are final and it was up to the managers discretion if he wanted to take it back. He said he would for a 350$. What a jerk never spending a dime there again. By the way the drain for the shower is 2" not a regular 4" shower drain, the base was scratched when we took it out of the box, and a led under the base was bent. But that wasn't his problem any I already paid. Stay away, if you have problems after sales they are a big zero. read more

Whitby location is awful. I was sold a bath tub with a crack underneath (so I couldn't see that when I bought it) and they wouldn't take it back. They sold it to me with the wrong drain, so the tub leaks. Bought a vanity there and the doors were mounted unevenly, the counter tops were drilled with the wrong holes (drilled them for mono taps not 3 hole style like I ordered), and the counter top was promised to me in 2-4 weeks and took 7. No one would email me back or return my calls. It took me going into the store to even get my counter in the first place. I would never ever shop here again. Customer service was awful and so were the products I got and couldn't return. read more

I renovated a bathroom this spring and purchased the mahority of my bathroom from Gus's Kitchen and Bath in Ottawa. I had heard great things about them from two seperate friends of mine that had purchased their dual flush toilet. I received such great service I thought I should write a possitive review after seeing the reviews above. Our bathroom is a few months old now and all our products look/work amazingly and we've received a ton of compliments. We also received all our products in the timeframe promised to us. We had originally wanted a specific faucet that was back ordered and the sales person explained to us that their supplies give them "esimated" delivery dates and only in-stock items could be guarenteed within a certain time-frame. Also, we shopped around Ottawa and the products at Gus's definitely weren't as cheap as what we saw elsewhere. Almost all the vanities were solid wood and the stuff we purchased definitely wasn't cheaply constructed. I'd go look in the store and see how well priced their products are and how well made they are! We're already getting anxious about renovating our next bathroom and we'll definitely be going back there. read more

I have been to Gus' 3 times now for bathroom renos and 1 kitchen faucet. Each time has been a great experience. They worked with me on pricing and helped me find the right product for the right price. I really enjoyed the family business type model. Friendly sales people who know their product. There was one time where I did have to return a faucet that was damaged but I've had that problem (or something of that nature) at other bathroom shops too. I would definitely recommend this place. It's not for extremely rich/stuck up nose type but it's great for everyday joes looking for a nice reno and a good price. read more

We ordered, paid for a vanity in November and were promised delivery in January. January came and when we called, we were then told delivery would be end of February, called again last week to follow up and were told they did not know when it would arrive. Upon asking why no one would call us back or provide a commitment of delivery, I was told that every one of their stores had people lined up to deal with them for the past month and they did not have time to call customers back, they had enough problems just taking orders. I replied, that must be a nice problem to have but that they should call their customers back or they would not have those customers for long, they told me, "don't be ignorant"...at that point I stopped listening and am at a loss of how to move forward with a company that does NOT know the basics in dealing with or making things right with their customers... read more

This review is for the ottawa location but I suspect they all operate the same. STAY AWAY!! This buisness is shady at best. We just went through a terrible ordeal with a bathroom vanity. I'm reviewing the Ottawa store but I suspect they all operate the same. We were in need of a Bathroom vanity and decided to check this place out. The product looked resonalbly well built (all made in CHINA) and the pricess were fair to comparable. The initial service was suspect, the place is run by a couple of uneducated 20 something yearolds who don't know anything about customer service. We decided on a complete vanity and put a deposit on the product. It was delivered on time but before they would take it off the truck they wanted cash for the vanity?? WTF who does that? We said no we need to inspect it first, it was brought in and the side panels were poorly finished and we sent it back. Then speaking with the manager on the phone I asked for a complete refund and she said all sales are final check your bill...So I returned to the store that day to look at other replacement panels and they were all bad quaility. In the end we had to pay for the custom cut vanity top but got a refund for the vanity cabinet. Lesson learned do not deal with start up businesses who sell cheap chinese made crap for three times the price. They did nothing to accomodate the customer except talk to you like you were an idiot. Please stay away...you will thank me! read more
