**WORTH THE READ, BEWARE***
I hired Antonio and his crew to…read morecompletely redo our backyard. The scope of work included removing old grass, reframing the boundary for new turf, extending the turf toward the back wall, removing tree stumps, and laying pavers over existing concrete. The total area of turf installed was approximately 1,400 sq ft. The quoted price for the entire project, including a small dog run, was $14,000. Definitely cost more than that.
From the very first visit, my husband and I were very clear that we did not want any seams visible in the turf. We were reassured multiple times that there would be no visible seams and that the work was guaranteed. Antonio also showed us photos of previous work (the same photos shown on here), which appeared well done. When asked directly if he was licensed and insured, he stated that he was. Unfortunately, we later discovered this was not true, as he was not licensed. That is on us for not verifying with the ROC beforehand.
Throughout the project, communication was extremely poor. Antonio was often a no-show, arrived late, or failed to communicate altogether. While working on the project, he claimed additional pavers were needed and asked my husband to purchase more, which we did.
Once the job was completed and we were told the work was guaranteed, several serious issues became obvious. The turf seams are clearly visible, directly contradicting what we were repeatedly promised. The pavers were installed poorly, are not in straight lines, and--most concerning--are not all the pavers we purchased. We bought flat-edge pavers, but round-edge pavers were sporadically installed throughout the project, presumably in hopes we would not notice. We now have mismatched pavers, including extras that were never installed.
We brought these issues to Antonio's attention, as well as to his wife, Shelia. After that, they completely ghosted us and stopped responding.
Another major red flag was that Antonio requested additional payment in the middle of the job, claiming it was to pay his crew. Our agreement was clear: half at the start and the remainder at completion. There was no provision for mid-project payments.
Overall, the workmanship is subpar, the materials are incorrect, promises were not honored, and communication was unprofessional. Please be aware and proceed with caution.
