Brought my car here…read more My car failed smog...guy said bring it back after making "certain" repairs. Saying it would not pass "unless the car was driven a certain amount of miles". Didn't give an explanation of WHY the car had to be driven. So no, I shouldn't bring it back without a mechanics approval because it would fail. Took it somewhere else. The mechanic explained it wouldn't pass unless another mechanic looked at it prior to clear it and the mileage cleared because the computer had to reset. It needed a new temperature gauge. That could have been included in the conversation. Tried to make an extra quick couple bucks. Never will be back. And everyone I know in Tracy has been informed. Sad part is, I came here before and had no issues. Not sure who is running it now. Good luck.

NEW LOCATION! 101 Sperry Ave. in Patterson…read more I previously smogged my truck and when our 2nd vehicle needed a smog cert, I knew I could get it done quickly at Patterson Smog. I drove to their other location, it had a sign on the fence they had moved with the new address. Headed over there, one car was in the bay getting worked on. The owner came and checked the vehicle sensor and told me it would be a few minutes. It was the opening day at the new location. She offered the lobby to sit in and let me know they were still working on the inside. My car was taken into the bay, tested and ready to go in 15ish minutes. Nice space at the new location. Clean lobby, still finishing up the decorating. Owner also gave me a flyer with a coupon for a discount. I paid $49 and change to smog our 2018 Chevy Equinox. I will continue to take my vehicles for quick, easy, friendly service. Thank you!

Even though there were only 2-3 cars ahead of me, the wait was about 20-25 minutes, which was fine. However, once my car was pulled in, the experience went downhill. The technician seemed to be extra critical simply because my car is a sports car. He began complaining about the catalytic converter, claiming it was not original. I explained that it is original and even told him I have the receipt from the last time this exact shop smogged the car. Despite that, he insisted it wasn't original and refused to complete the smog. The most frustrating part is that I took my car literally two minutes up the road, and it passed with no issues at all. I understand smog regulations are strict, but consistency and professionalism matter. If another licensed shop can pass the car immediately with no problem, something isn't adding up here. Based on this experience, I won't be coming back.
