I was driving through this area and knew I needed to pick up dinner for myself somewhere. I pulled over and hopped on Yelp and searched for pizza. Ta-dah...just around the next corner I found Gusto. I needed to hurry so I picked a pizza that would get me through dinner and lunch tomorrow. It didn't take me long to hone in on meatballs and caramelized onion. So incredibly tasty! It was fresh out of the oven so not the easiest thing to eat going down the road but trust me when I tell you I managed three slices! I'm looking forward to stopping back in and perusing the menu more closely. I did see that there were a few regular entrées along with the pizzas and salads as well. Nice large restaurant with some outdoor seating as well. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and had my pizza within 10 to 12 minutes. So happy to have found a great spot on our regular route to our cabin in Virginia! read more

Gusto Pizzeria makes me feel like I'm back in Florida where restaurants are more trendy & upbeat! It also made me feel like i was back in Napoli! The pizza was made just like in Naples, Italy and I loved it! I ordered the Sammy (carmelized onions on the side) & it was delicious!! I ordered the onions on the side because I was afraid they would take away from the other yummy toppings. In my opinion, I was right. My mom enjoyed them on the pizza. My mom ordered the chicken parm sub & side Cesar salad. We actually shared everything. The Cesar salad was very good, complete with fresh parmesan shavings. My mom also raced about the Louie pizza but I didn't try it. The GELATO was out of this world!!!! Definitely order to chocolate Gelato, chocolate fans!! It's chocolate and has chocolate bits in it. Came out on a cold cold night for dinner.. it was warm and inviting inside. We were seated immediately. Everyone was pleasant. The menu was a typical pasta, pizza, and sub sandwiches but we wanted pasta tonight. Fettuccine Alfredo and vodka Pasta were excellent!! The Caesar side salad was generous. Decided to try their homemade "donut bites". They were good but probably not as good as I would have liked. It was basically pizza dough cut up and fried. Now it wasn't terrible, we ate them all, but they weren't a soft "donut". Anyway, it didn't warrant a downgrade on the stars at all. Will return for pizza. read more

ATTENTION!!! My life has been changed for the better for all days to come. My girlfriend and I ordered the margarita pizza and cheesy bread that came with a FREE cannoli. We chose to try the cheesy bread for starters. My taste buds immediately threw a mouth party. We couldn't wait to dive into the pizza and for good reason! This was a mind altering experience that left us wondering why we have ever eaten any other pizza from anywhere else before. I'm voting Gusto for president in the next election. I haven't even tried the cannoli yet because I had to stop and rave about this pizza but I'm sure it's just as delicious! 10/10 recommend, WILL be eating again. One of my favorite pizzas in the triad area! Everything was FANTASTIC. I had the Salsiccia which was a perfect balance of sweet and salty, with chorizo and grilled chicken and a lovely agave honey. The margherita was classic and fresh, with a tangy and sweet tomato sauce. The service was awesome, with very kind staff and very short waiting time. In terms of the restaurant itself, there was lots of seating inside and outside, and pretty fairy lights and a good ambiance. Overall, a great place for a casual night out :) read more

The restaurant is clean and the decor feels elevated, definitely nicer than any Pizza Hut or Bills Pizza. I liked my salad and the dressing but it was missing a little something more. My guest got a side Cesar salad and an Italian Sub. It was really close to being great, but there was too much lettuce and too little meat. However, the flavors were there and the bread is good. The staff seemed new and inexperienced but they were really nice. The hostess gave us the wine list in place of actual menus and our waiter didn't give us refills and brought my salad out with the appetizer while my guests Italian sub trailed about 10 mins. I don't think anyone explained when the salad is a main course or a side item, it gets delivered with the other main course items at the table. He was a very nice young man, just needs a little experience and he'll be fine. To be fair, the wine list looks exactly like the menu and that is a design flaw... the hostess was probably not the first one to mistake it for menus. After the hostess sat us and placed the wine list on the table she hightailed it to the counter. It took us a few minutes before we figured out there wasn't any food items on it. LOL! It's been a while since we have eaten here but definitely enjoyed it on our second visit! It did not disappoint! We enjoyed the cheesy bread appetizer which was scrumptious - will definitely order again. We also had the Louie, which had some delicious caramelized onions on it, and the Diavola, which was a nice spicy pizza! Pizzas were a great size to share between two people! Restaurant also had a great coupon that we found on the back of a local grocery store receipt - so keep your eyes out for that nice treat! Otherwise it's on the pricier side for a pizza, about $17 for a 12inch, but worth it since it's not your typical pizza joint. Service was somewhat slow, as we had to ask for water refills twice but it was not a big deal to us as we only saw one server at the time. We've been here a couple times so far the service has been good. They have your food out pretty fast. We love their cheese bread we added it to our order every time. We get the all meat pizza. They don't short you on the toppings, but they don't over Phil the pizza either. If you're in the Oak Ridge area definitely recommend this place but be prepared. They will charge you $.50 for extra sauces and their ranch is watered down. I understand after two sauces charging extra they charge you for all of them. Will still come back to this place. Been awhile since I have done one of these haha! I went here this past Sunday for lunch after church and was very satisfied with my meal and experience! The place has this very down to earth, bar feeling about it, which is really nice. The waitress was a sweetheart and was very welcoming to me and my friend. I started out with some mozzarella sticks that I split with my friend. It had the perfect amount of crunch to it. It was very flavorful as well. Marinara sauce had a perfect blend of sweet and tanginess as well. For my entrée, I got the meat lovers pizza . It came with pepperoni, sausage, ham, and bacon, along with a very generous amount, cheese. I added mushrooms to it as you can for an extra charge. The pizza is made in a wood fire oven and was about a medium size which was more than enough for me. It was about eight slices. The cross was soft, but was cooked thoroughly and it was not doughy. The boy of the flavors of the meat lovers pizza was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come here again as the pizza was so big that I had to take the other half home. It was about $17 for a pizza which is a little high, but everything has gone up in price these days so it's no surprise. I would definitely be back for sure. Had to try this newer addition to the Oak Ridge restaurant scene. I read the prior reviews, which have been a mixed bag since launch. Maybe some off days, or maybe it was brand new and working through the kinks. My experience was perfection and 5 star through and through. Let me tell you why. Fun, bright and vibrant scene inside with a great patio outside. Friendly staff greets you at the door. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner during my weekday lunch. A pleasure! He was full of knowledge, going into the details of opening, working through different staff until he got the expertise a Neapolitan style restaurant needed, and the trials and tribulations he went through to get the authentic pizza oven just right. I always order a Margherita pizza when evaluating a new authentic Neapolitan restaurant. In its simplicity, there's really nothing to it, it's a cheese pizza you feed little kids. To make something seemingly uninteresting absolutely delicious...that's just sheer magic. And it's true to form here. The dough was light and fluffy with the perfect amount of char. Sauce was San Marzano tomatoes and salt, perfection. Fresh mozzarella is the key to a Margherita pizza and this one doesn't disappoint. Perfect amount of basil and EVO on top finished it off. It all came together to make one of the best authentic Neapolitan Margherita pizzas around. This was my first time in so I don't have any prior experience to compare to, but compared to experiences of others during the first few months after opening, I have to say the owner got it right and has a great thing going here. Great spot in the heart of Oak Ridge! You can't got wrong with fresh made pizza and cannolis and this place has them both. The pies cook super fast in the 800 degree oven and give the crust a fluffy yet crunchy bite. There are some familiar options on the menu along with some unique additions (like the hot honey pepperoni). I do wish they had a few more sandwich and non-pizza options but it is a pizza joint so I can't complain too much. The caprese salad was excellent with super fresh burrata style mozzarella. We stopped in today to try our first pie. If your expectations are for full table service, this won't be for you. However, the pizza is very, very good so maybe you should give it a try. Here's how it works: You order and pay at the counter by the front door. This area can get a little congested because there's no real waiting area. She nicely told us that the pizza size is 12" only and that most people share a pizza and also get a salad. We didn't want salad but ordered the mozzarella sticks from the kids menu. We ordered waters and Heineken. We were given a number for our table and she directed us forward to get our plates, napkins, silverware, seasonings and water. To Go boxes are in this same area. You can sit wherever you want. Literally, as soon as we sat down, they brought the pizza and the mozzarella sticks about 5 minutes later. Like other self serve places, if you want more water or if you forget plates like I did, you go get it. If you want another beer, you will have to get back in line to order and pay, which for us, made it not worth the effort. The Americano had me at "hot honey" and it was very good. This is a very foldable, thin crust and the edge of the crust was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pepperoni was in large strips and it had a great amount of cheese. We really enjoyed it and ate every bite. The mozzarella sticks were very good, nicely seasoned and the marinara was warm and tasty. I plan to take my sister in to try some of the white pizzas as those are our favorite. In my opinion, a one size pizza does not fit all. Happy to have a new pizza option in the Northwest area! The pizza was delicious, great looking salad options, Pepsi products, beef and wine. Service was friendly, helpful and prompt. After ordering, our pizza arrived within 8 minutes! It was very, very good! NOT your typical American pizza - very Italian! I ordered a cream based pizza, husband had a red sauce base. The crust was soft but thoroughly cooked - had a great flavor and "chew". Pizzas were approximately 12 inches across, plenty for 4 persons. We each ate about half and brought our other half home. Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. Interior decor is basic diner style but I adore the Sophia Loren wall - Delicious! I am adding another review today about what I thought was my favorite pizza in Oak Ridge. Gusto had sent me several coupons to use for my birthday. They actually sent it a second time after I hadn't used it a week later. I followed the instructions on the email and I couldn't get the order put in so I called. The gal on the phone said I had to come in even though the coupon said to order online. I showed her the email and asked why I couldn't get it to work so she started to try and place the order and she couldn't get it to work either. Do I just asked if she could take the order and then she called her manager and was on the phone for 5-10 minutes. I was so frustrated. Why can't they process their own coupons?? Why not get a calculator up and give me the 15 percent discount take my money and place my order. I just wasted all this time my order would have been done twice. Poor customer service read more

This is the first time we tried this pizza. The pizza as good but for a 14" pizza it was over $17! Most large pizzas are at least 16 inch and so if you have a f ain't of four you have to order two or three pizzas. It's good but not sure it's a great value. read more

The newly opened pizzeria in the shopping center anchored by Lowe's foods in Oak Ridge is a great addition to the food scene in the area. The pizzeria crafts Neapolitan style pizzas in a beautiful pizza oven that fires the pies quickly and to perfection. All of the pies are hand crafted and made to order. Set selections include a classic Margherita, a Pesto Pizza, and many other favorites. The ingredients are excellent quality and a perfect ratio of topping to crust. The crust is excellent and has the slightest char and crispiness. A perfect fold. We ordered the Americano and the Louie. A first bite of the American yielded a crispy crust with perfectly crisp pepperoni and buttery mozzarella with a sweetness from the hot honey that topped the pizza. Absolutely no pie like this in the area. The Louie was very similar in crust consistency and offered a flavorful sweet sausage and red pepper. The San Marazano tomato sauce was perfect in just enough coverage and a deep flavor. They offer a wide variety of salads as well as a small beer selection a fair sized wine selection. There is also a kids menu to choose something for the little ones in the party. We had to get dessert when we saw the freshly made cannolis. We tried both a pistachio and a chocolate chip and both were fantastic with a rich and creamy filling. Definitely give this place your business. The owner was walking by checking on each guests experience and offering suggestions on their food selections. The energy was great and the staff was well trained and versed in the complete menu. This will definitely be our go to pizza selection in the future. Update -We had to grab a Margherita pizza for a take home for one of our crew who couldn't join us. Another perfect pie. A welcome addition here in Oak Ridge but pizza was only average. Why do I say that? The 2 Margherita pizza's we're adequate but no better: - Picture on website shows fresh mozzarella but they use typical shredded mozzarella. Taste is considerably different. - They put 5 "lonely" basil leaves on the pie when it need 8-10. Also, they must have applied before cooking as they were dried up. Basil should be applied after the pizza comes out of the oven. - Needed EVO.I f it was there it was insufficient I hate to be picky but $16 for achm"medium" cheese pizza is a lot. On New Year's Eve we made our second visit to Gusto Pizzeria. We arrived around 7:00pm to place our to go order. The restaurant wasn't very busy, an employee working the register, to folks working in the kitchen and another couple waiting on their to go order. Employee working the register was helpful. We ordered and paid quickly. A few minutes later another couple arrived and it took the forever to decide what they wanted. While they were pondering their meal a phone order was called in and the employee did her best to take care the customers at the register and on the phone at the same time. While she juggled these customers boxed pizzas began to gather on the counter by the kitchen. The kitchen employees did nothing they just let the pizzas sit. Emerging from the back of the restaurant another employee appears. I said to my wife "Where has he been? She's up here juggling customers and he's hiding in the back." The employee from the back proceeds to the counter where the boxed pizzas are and proceeds to open them. He the proceeds to bury his face in the pies... his face inches away from them ( he probably got cheese on his nose). He then closes the box and shuffles all the pies around like we were playing the shell game on the Jumbotron at a sporting event. We were out at this point and requested a refund. They offered to cook new pizzas and we declined, requesting a refund for the second time. Another 10-15 minutes of waiting and we finally get our refund. The gentleman from the back was the manager. He didn't have the spine to talk to us, much less make eye contact. We thanked the employee working the register, commented on how worthless the manager was and went elsewhere for dinner. If you are looking for the best Neapolitan style pizza in the Triad area go to Cugino Forno in Greensboro or Winston-Salem. read more

My wife and I dropped in for a late lunch and what an experience! We ordered 2 pizzas, they were the best I've had in many years. The tomato sauces were so deliciously different. The Louie, had a sweet pepper sauce that didn't overwhelm and the second Pizza, I told the manager I wanted a meat-lover style and it was loaded! If you want to add a little kick, ask for the hot pepper oil. We split a peanut-butter cannoli, phenomenal! Great atmosphere, contemporary Italian decor, cool pizza oven, excellent service. Overall this place was solid. Wife had the Margherita and I had the DIAVOLA. Both were tasty. Kids had the cheesy bread and split a kids cheese. Again all pretty decent. Next visit I'll probably ask that they cook if just a bit longer to give the cheese a little more golden color. Didnt get a salad but saw a few coming out of the kitchen and those looked good too. 3.5 The restaurant itself looks fantastic! There is a very cool and trendy vibe. I ordered the chop salad and added chicken. The salad bowl was full of greens, but it was not "chopped". If I order this again, I will ask for it to be chopped. Also, the chicken tasted like the precooked Tyson stuff, not freshly grilled chicken. The other "stuff" in the salad was lacking...salami, mortadella....I didn't realize it at the time but there was no cheese in the salad and it really could have used cheese. The pizzas looked good.
