I would not be any more excited if we got a freaking Disneyland in DeSoto Co. than I am about this…read moreRaising Canes! I have waited for them to be near my hood for so long! It's been a destination in every city that has one before now. First thing I do is bee line to the RC as soon as I land in town! To me, they are the epitome of the chicken tender gang game! There may be 107 other places that do exactly the same thing, in just about the exact same way, with the same offerings, and really similar signature sauces, and the same well, you get it. There are many choices for this genre of culinary crispy chicken delights! Nonetheless. Canes is my favorite. I am not sure why. It may be the loud brightly colored upbeat interiors. It may be that it's always hot, fresh, and tasty! It may be because it pisses my wife off. I don't know. I don't care. I just want more of it please! My life is a little better now that I know I can get that Canes Chicken Grease fix without driving an hour plus to get it. Hurry up and build the one on Winchester! It is even closer. I hated Red Lobster anyway! Let me know if you need help with it. I'll work for tenders. Love, Adam '25 - 49/111

Service? Fantastic. Food? Not impressed. Ambiance? Awesome…read more I did not go inside so I can't judge the inside, but the outside looks pretty cool. The employee in the drive through had a great personality. Really enjoyed her spunky attitude. This was my first time having Raising Cane's. After hearing everyone rave for years about their chicken and especially the sauce, I had high hopes I'd enjoy it. I am not a huge fan of fried chicken. I prefer boneless and tenders. Anyways, this chicken was not anything to brag about. Especially not the sauce that people rave about. It was too black pepper tasting for my liking, and the fries were extremely salty. I'm not sure I'll be back. Many other better chicken places around.

1 Star - We Came for Dinner... We Left With a Story…read more My girlfriend, my mom, and I came to Dale's Restaurant in Southaven expecting a nice dinner. What we got instead was an unexpected exercise in patience. When we sat down, the place wasn't very busy, so we figured service would move along pretty smoothly. Unfortunately, our table seemed to be skipped multiple times. It felt like we accidentally sat at the "invisible guest" table because staff kept walking past us and forgetting what they were supposed to bring. While waiting, they brought us sweet tea and cornbread muffins. Now listen... I like sweet tea as much as the next Southerner, but this one was so sweet it felt like it skipped tea entirely and went straight to syrup. If hummingbirds ever open a restaurant, this would probably be their house drink. The cornbread muffins were an adventure of their own. They were very dry, spongy, and unusually sweet -- almost like someone confused cornbread with dessert. Imagine expecting cornbread and getting something closer to candy. That's the closest description I can give. The atmosphere didn't help the situation either. The vents above the dining area looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while, the walls felt bland and lifeless, and several tablecloths were torn. Along the bottom trim where the wall meets the floor, it looked like there was some serious wear and possible moisture damage going on. After waiting long enough and tasting what we had, we decided to call it. I spoke with the manager, who did apologize and told us not to worry about the bill, which I appreciated. That was probably the best part of the visit. At that point we decided to leave and find dinner somewhere else. Nick's Final Bite: We came for dinner... but left with sweet tea syrup and a cornbread identity crisis.

Dales now has breakfast! Dales has been on my list to try…read morefor a while, but when I go out to eat, southern comfort food just isn't in my top choices I want so we've always put it aside. Well this weekend we gave them a try for breakfast and so glad we did! We are now going to definitely go back for dinner sometime soon! We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy. I just love the Christmas town at the front entrance. I was in "awe." We were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and all the waitresses did coffee rotations so we were always good on drinks. The food... delicious! The fried potatoes were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. That gravy was just like I make at home and perfect. The biscuits were nice and the monte crisco was the best we've had! Really, our only complaints are the rice grits, they just didn't go with the meal well, and that my omelette was supposed to have chorizo, but they did sausage instead. Not a huge deal because it was still good. Try their breakfast out! We'll be back for dinner.
