First of all, Dr Dennis tried to diagnose me with a condition I don't have (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Also, I am not able to take the pill because of a blood clot problem but Dr Dennis really pushed that I get on a IUD. I don't want to be on the pill or pump myself with drugs and hormones. Condoms work just fine thank you! I don't think it's right for a doctor to push drug companies like Mirena on their patients, especially when Mirena is not recommended for women who haven't had children, which I have not. So after my exam, and basic lab tests were done, I got a $500 lab bill! These labs were routine tests and since Masonic sends out lab work to a third party lab, my Aetna insurance wouldn't cover that type of lab work. When I tried to call Dr. Dennis' clinic to figure out a way to help with the costs, they just ignored me. I wanted to talk to Dr Dennis myself and they wouldn't put me through to her or have her call me back. I will NEVER go back to any doctors at Advocate Illinois Masonic. The Northwestern medical system is much better and I shouldn't have strayed away from them in the first place! I definitely learned my lesson. I hope this helps other women, especially if you have Aetna health insurance, or some health complications.

Without going into a ton of detail, I'll just say that her nurse practitioner is SUPER judgmental (which is the LAST thing any woman should have to deal with at her OBGYN office), and her triage nurse has decided that she is a bouncer who even ignores recommendations from primary care doctors. That's comforting! /sarcasm You may be thinking, "so what, it's her staff, not her, it's not a big deal." But the thing is, if you are calling for any non-yearly exam reason, these are the two people you're directed to, so it IS a big deal. They are like actual bouncers - her messages are intercepted by the triage nurse, and they are still living in the dark ages and don't have a patient portal. I can totally understand the necessity of having someone screen your messages but I'm wondering what the criteria are for what actually gets to Dr. Dennis, if anything. I had my PCP telling me to get into her pronto, and I'm pretty sure Dr. Dennis had no clue there was even an issue because her triage nurse was like, "if your PCP is so concerned, then she needs to deal with it." What. So while I adore Dr. Dennis, I am moving on to greener pastures.

As soon as she walked in, I felt like I had known her for years and instantly felt calm. Throughout the whole process, she was supportive and explained everything really well to me. I loved her bedside manor. She was cautious, but did not want to do anything that was no needed. Any decision that I made, she always listened too. If I thought something that she did not agree with she explained why in a thoughtful way without making me feel dumb for my idea (which it was - in fact- dumb). Her entire team was lovely and I really loved Dr. Baskin as well. Dr. Sodini was very nice as well. but Dr. Delinado and Dr. Baskin really rocked my world. My epidural wore off during labor due to a poor placement (no fault to the dr.) Dr. Delfinado sat with me and assured me that this was a hard situation and that I could do this. I cried, she let me, then she made me rest. When I woke up (THANK GOD FOR EPIDURALS) I was time to push and I delivered a healthy boy with minimal tearing. This woman is a rock star and I will be back if I have another baby.

I would really like to write a positive review of Dr. Delfinado, as I truly liked her as a person…read more Her bedside manner trumps that of her practice partner, Dr. Sodini, and she is genuinely a nice person. But I feel like it is really important to share my multiple negative experiences with Dr. Delfinado and her practice so anyone reading these reviews can be fully informed. However, I had too many problems with her office and a horrible experience at my last appointment with her, and I do not plan to return to her. I had many problems with her staff, who come across as disorganization and unprofessional. They were confusing, frustrating and, at least once, extremely upsetting. I did feel like Dr. Delfinado spent more time with me when I had issues than her partner Dr. Sodini. We talked at greater length about my problems and possible solutions. I did feel like she listened to me more. But when ongoing medical problems weren't solved, Dr. Delfinado eventually recommended blindly taking a course of action with either a prescription or a topical medication when she had not yet determined my problem. It was at this point that I sought out a new OB/GYNE who matched my philosophy of finding the root of the problem and tackling it from there. I found myself in Dr. Delfinado's office one last time after that when my new OB/GYNE could not see me, and I had a terrible experience with Dr. Delfinado and her staff that day. I no longer will see her and would sooner seek out a OB/GYNE who I do not know and have never seen before in a situation where I cannot see my new doctor. I am now seeing a new OB/GYNE who has addressed my problems with a systemic, holistic approach. This doctor has spent time understanding me and my health. No topical creams, no temporary solutions, no rushing me through the system. And I am feeling great. As one reviewer put it, if you do NOT have any issues and just want your BC prescription or an annual pap smear, these doctors are fabulous to see. If you have any issues at all (which unfortunately one cannot predict), then this is not the practice for you.

That was her response when I said I had contracted H Pylori from my honeymoon, and then had fallen on NYE and broke my rib, my wrist and got vertigo. These are serious medical issues and all she had to say was that I was pathetic. I can't even imagine having her as an obstetrician or going through fertility treatments. It was a pre conception meeting when I was 39 going on 40 and she told me to wait 6 months and call her. When in 5 months I called a fertility clinic, they said that I should have been in there WAY earlier. Do not go to Wise if you have actual fertility issues because she will give you the standard response, wait a year if you are under 35 and 6 months if you are older. She didn't even take into consideration my pathology. I had to go through 3 rounds of IVF and frankly I am a little pissed I got insulted and got bad advice.

You would think that because my son, who was born 6 weeks early, was born healthy and there were no complications DURING surgery I would give Dr. Wise more stars. If Satan is looking for his wife she is inhabiting an OB/GYN named Bonnie E. Wise, MD. I was put on Norco for pain after surgery. The Norco gave me vertigo and I went off of it. I was kept on Ultram and motrin. Ultram didn't do anything. I was in excruciating pain and I begged one of the post-partum nurses to get in touch with Dr. Wise so that I could be put on additional meds. Dr. Wise refused. The last day I was there I noticed that the area around my incision was red and warm. When I asked Dr. Wise about it her first comment was how great her work was. Can you say God complex. She then brushed it off saying it was probably irritated from the wrap the hospital had put around my waist to ease some of the pain from the c-section. I told her it was warm and looked like a rash. She simply blew it off and said I was ready to go home. I was discharged that day. The next morning a nurse came to the house to check on my healing. When I lifted up my shirt she literally gasped. What had been a reddening around the incision site was now a full blow rash that had crawled up my stomach. The nurse said one word "cellulitis." She could not believe I had been discharged. I called the practice (northwest specialists for women) and they scheduled me an appointment later in the day. Before I could go to that appointment we needed to take our new arrival to his first pediatric appointment. As I was changing his diaper I noticed that it was wet around my abdomen. I figured he had peed on me. I WISH! I went into the bathroom and screamed when I saw why I was wet. My incision had burst open and fluid, blood and god knows what else was streaming down my legs. To say I was hysterical would be an understatement. Because we don't have a car my husband and I cabbed it over to NW Specialists for Women. My own OB/GYN, who had not delivered my son, Dr. MacMahon actually said she was "perplexed" as to why I was discharged as I clearly had cellulitis. The infection had caused my incision to burst. After poking and proding I was told to go to back to Prentice. Another cab ride later and I was readmitted to the 15th floor (which I now call the leftover return patient floor/ oncology gyn). I will not go into what transpired at Prentice. I will save that for the scathing review I should have written two years ago. Let's leave it at the biggest nightmare of my life. At the end of this nightmare I was left with an OPEN GAPING wound that needed to be packed with silver infused gauze every morning for 2.5 months. All Dr. Wise needed to do was get over herself and keep me in the hospital with IV antibiotics for a few more days and the entire situation could have been avoided. Dr. Bonnie Wise is a cold and cocky doctor who lacks even a slight drop of empathy. She has a god complex and seems more interested in how many babies she can deliver than the mothers who have carried those babies. I cannot believe that someone on here thinks she is amazing. My heart goes out to anyone who has suffered as a result of this women's non-existent bed-side manner and need to feel amazed by her own self. p.s. This review is me being nice and doing everything I can not to use bad language.

My experience with Dr. Surendra Basti was extremely disappointing. I found his communication to be…read morerude, dismissive, and unprofessional, and I felt as though he was talking down to me rather than treating me respectfully as a patient. During the visit, Dr. Basti explained the procedure he recommended. I then asked whether he could explain it to my friend, who had accompanied me and was waiting in the waiting area. He replied, "I don't like repeating myself twice." His nurse brought my friend into the examination room. When she arrived, Dr. Basti again stated that he had already explained everything to me and that he did not like repeating himself. I found this interaction unnecessarily disrespectful. I should have been able to ask for the information to be repeated for someone supporting me without feeling dismissed or uncomfortable. Clear, respectful communication is an essential part of patient care.
